Mesoporous SBA-15 was synthesized using tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) as the silica source and Pluronic (P123) as the structure-directing agent. The defective Si-OH groups present in SBA-15 were successively grafted with 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane (CPTMS) followed by tris-(2-aminoethyl) amine (TAEA) and/or tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) for effective immobilization of silver nanoparticles. Grafting of TAEA and/or TEPA amine and immobilization of silver nanoparticles inside the channels of SBA-15 was verified by XRD, TEM, IR and BET techniques. The silver nanoparticles immobilized on TAEA and /or TEPA grafted SBA-15 was subjected for electrocatalytic reduction of hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$). The TEPA stabilized silver nanoparticles show higher efficiency for reduction of $H_2O_2$ than that of TAEA, due to higher number of secondary amine groups present in TEPA. The amperometric analysis indicated that both the Ag/SBA-15/TAEA and Ag/SBA-15/TEPA modified electrodes required lower over-potential and hence possess high sensitivity towards the detection of $H_2O_2$. The reduction peak currents were linearly related to hydrogen peroxide concentration in the range between $3{\times}10^{-4}\;M$ and $2.5{\times}10^{-3}\;M$ with correlation coefficient of 0.997 and detection limit was $3{\times}10^{-4}\;M$.

In this study, electrospun nanofibers made of PAN (polyacrylonitrile) were activated through a physical method to obtain an optimized pore structure. In particular, to enhance the surface alkalinity, the activated carbon fibers (ANFs) were impregnated with tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) with the aid of HNO3. Then, the low level (3,000 ppm) CO2 adsorption capacity for each ANF sample was evaluated. The specific surface area of ANFs increased from 308.4 ㎡/g to 839.4 ㎡/g and the total pore volume increased from 7.882 ㎤/g to 27.50 ㎤/g. Although the TEPA impregnation reduced the specific surface area and pore volume of the ANFs due to blocking of micropores, the HNO3 pre-oxidation enhanced the amino groups tethered, increasing the amine content from 6.42% to 17.19%, and finally, increased the adsorption capacity of CO2. This study showed that the sample 60-ANF-HNO3-TEPA, which was activated for 60 minutes and was impregnated with HNO3 and TEPA, had the best adsorption capacity for low level (0.3%) CO2 (in a binary mixture with N2).
A field experiment was conducted with Calliandra calothyrsus of fifteen provenances to evaluate the variation in the condensed tannin content of fresh leaves. Plants were raised in a nursery for three months and planted in the field. Experimental design was line planting of double hedgerows (3 m long plot, 1/2 meter interval, 45 plants in each plot) with 5 replicates. Plants were lopped every 5 months and samples (10 different plants within a plot; 4 newly flushed leaves, 4 partially expanded leaves and 4 mature full expanded leaves from each of 10 trees in a plot) were collected and were put on ice before transfer to the laboratory. Proanthocyanidine was extracted in aqueous acetone, and total extractable proanthcyanidine (TEPA) and total proanthocyanidine (TOPA) were measured. In addition, proximate analyses were made of different provenances. Crude protein contents varied from 19.74% to 16.45%; in vitro organic matter digestibility ranged from 36.09% to 23.32%. TEPA content ranged from 11.22 to 16.01 (measured as absorbance at $550nm,\;g^{-1}$ DM) and TOPA from 24.57 to 31.72 (measured as absorbance at $550nm,\;g^{-1}$ DM) TEPA and TOPA had a positive correlation, whereas crude protein content of Calliandra was negatively correlated with TEPA and TOPA. Provenances, such as Georgesville (Belize), local, Coban (Guatemala), Patulul (Guatemala), Bombana (Mexico) can be selected on the basis of nutritive value of fodder.
To determine the effect of chain length of linear amine curing agents on the thermal and mechanical properties, standard epoxy resin, diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) was cured with diethylenetriamine (DETA), triethylenetetraamine (TETA) and tetraethylenepentaamine (TEPA) in a stoichiometrically equivalent ratio. From this work, the effect of linear amine curing agents on the thermal and mechanical properties was significantly influenced by chain length of curing agents. In contrast, the results showed that the DGEBA/DETA system had higher values than the DGEBA/TETA and DGEBA/TEPA system in the density, shrinkage (%), thermal expansion coefficient, tensile modulus, and flexural strength. Whereas the DGEBA/DETA cure system had lower values than the DGEBA/TETA and DGEBA/TEPA cure system in the maximum exothermic temperature, conversion (%), and T$_{g}$. These findings imply that the differences in the maximum conversion about the chain length of curing agents affect the thermal and mechanical properties.s.
To determine the effect of numbers of nitrogen atom bonded at ethyl group included in main chain of linear amine curing agents of epoxy-cure systems on the thermal and mechanical properties, standard epoxy resin DGEBF was cured with DETA, TETA and TEPA in a stoichiometrically equivalent ratio. From this work, the effect of curing agents of the DGEBF/amine systems oil the thermal and mechanical properties was significantly influenced by numbers of nitrogen atom of curing agents. The results showed that heat of reaction increased, and maximum exothermic temperature decreased with the decrease of numbers of nitrogen atom. In case of cured systems, density and maximum conversion(%) had no relation to numbers of nitrogen atom, but flexural modulus and tensile modulus increased with the decrease of numbers of nitrogen atom in main chain. Thermal stability, shrinkage(%), Tg, tensile and flexural strength showed irregular tendency having nothing to do with numbers of nitrogem atom at a sight. This findings imply that the differences in the maximum conversion(%) about the chain length of curing agents affect the thermal and mechanical properties.

Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) supports and amine additives were investigated to adsorb $CO_2$. PMMA supports were fabricated by using different ratio of pore forming agents (porogen) to control the BET specific surface area, pore volume and distribution. Toluene and xylene are used for porogens. Supported amine sorbents were prepared by wet impregnation of tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA) on PMMA supports. So we could identify the effect of the pore structure of supports and the quantity of impregnated TEPA on the adsorption capacity. The increased amount of toluene as pore foaming agent resulted in the decreased average pore diameter and the increased BET surface area. Polymer supports with huge different pore distribution could be fabricated by controlling the ratio of porogen. After impregnation, the support with micropore structure is supposed the pore blocking and filling effect so that it has low $CO_2$ capacity and kinetics due to the difficulty of diffusing. Macropore structure indicates fast adsorption capacity and low influence of amine loading. In case of support with mesopore, it has high performance of adsorption capacity and kinetics. So high surface area and meso-/macro- pore structure is suitable for $CO_2$ capture.
In this work, effect of antistrip additives to reduce moisture damage of asphalt mixture were studied. Asphalt antistripping agents were prepared by condensation of formaldehyde with tetraethylene pentamine (TEPA), triethylenetetramine (TETA) and bis(hexamethylene)-triamine (BHMT), respectively. And also the metal type antistripping agent was prepatred by neutralization of stearic acid or palmitic acid with metal hydroxide. Mechanical characteristics of the asphalt mixture added antistripping agent were evaluated with Marshall stability, submerging residuals and coating rate. It was found that antistripping agent prepared in this study reduced moisture damages of asphalt mixtures. In particular, asphalt mixtures added BHMT and C/S (Calcium stearate hydroxide) antistripping agent showed highest submerging and coating rate. Because BHMT and C/S type antistripping agent was to improve bonding between asphalt and aggregate owing to increase of amine concentration and role of metal surfactant.
Thermal decomposition was conducted to investigate the influence of the various factors on stability of a new insecticide, [O, O-Diethyl O-(1-phenyl-3-trifluoromethyl-5-pyrazoyl) thiophosphoric acid ester : KH-502], in view of those informations applicable for industrial exploitation. In the thermal decomposition experiment, KH-502 was, after mixing with Fe, Cu and adjustment of moisture and pH conditions, subjected to three temperatures, 25, 50, and $100^{\circ}C$. Results for stability, and degradation pattern of KH-502 from the above experiment can be summarized as follows: 1. Main products of the thermal decomposition when this was conducted in the closed system were identified as following five compounds:O, O, O-Triethylthiophosphoric acid(TEPA), 1-Phenyl-3-trifluoromethyl-5-ethoxypyrazole(PTMEP), 1-Phenyl-2-ethyl-3-trifluoromethyl-5-hydroxypyrazole(PETMHP), O, O-Diethyl O-(1-phenyl-3-trifluoromethyl-5-pyrazoyl)phosphoric acid ester(KH-502 oxo form), O, S-Diethyl O-(1-phenyl-3-trifluoromethyl-5-pyrazoyl)phospho rothiolate(S-ethyl KH-502). However, compounds such as oxo form and S-ethyl KH-502 were not identified when the thermal decomposition was proceeded in the open system. 2. KH-502 was stable at 25 and 50$^{\circ}C$, but it was decomposed at 100$^{\circ}C$ following the first-order kinetics at the early stages of decomposition. 3. Rate constants for the thermal decomposition of KH-502 at 100$^{\circ}C$ were in the orders of Cu powder addition 0.344>Cu plate addition 0.21>moisture addition 0.05>closed system=open system=iron addition=pH 5.5 adjustment 0.04>pH 8.5 adjustment 0.027 day$^{-1}$, representing KH-502 was decomposed fast at Cu powder treatment and slow at pH 8.5 adjustment. 4. Half-life for the thermal decomposition of KH-502 at 100$^{\circ}C$ was in the orders of Cu powder addition 2.02
