열전소자 장치 및 플라즈마 처리에 의한 소고기 저장 중 품질특성 (Quality characteristics of beef in thermoelectric cooling system combined with plasma during storage)

  • 본 연구에서는 열전소자와 플라즈마 장치를 삽입하여 제작된 컨테이너와 기존의 사용되고 있는 스티로폼(EPS) 박스에 소고기를 저장하면서 저장 중 품질특성을 조사하였다. 온도변화 측정 결과 저장기간 동안 TCS-1 컨테이너가 $2^{\circ}C$ 이하로 온도유지가 잘 되는 것으로 측정되었다. EPS 박스는 저장 3일 이후 소고기가 부패되어 더 이상 실험이 불가능 하였다. 소고기의 신선도를 나타내는 휘발성염기질소(VBN)과 지방산패도(TBA)값의 측정 결과, 저장 7일째 TCS-1의 VBN은 7.72 mg%, TBA는 0.52 mgMA/kg, TCS-2의 VBN 값은 9.20 mg%, TBA는 0.91 mgMA/kg로 측정되어 TCS-1이 TCS-2 보다 유의적으로 적은 증가율을 나타내어 소고기의 신선도를 더 잘 유지하는 것으로 판단되었다. 미생물 변화는 저장 7일 TCS-1은 4.62 log CFU/g, TCS-2는 7.09 log CFU/g으로 측정되어 TCS-1이 유의적으로 미생물 증식 억제에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 기호도 조사 또한 저장 7일째 TEU-1은 모든 항목에서 6.5점 이상의 평가를 받았으나 TCS-2는 4.1 이하의 평가를 받아 소고기의 상품성이 상실된 것으로 판단되었다. 모든 분석항목에서 TCS-1이 TCS-2보다 소고기 신선도 유지에 효과적인 것으로 판단 되었다.

중소형 망원경 제어 시스템 MS-TCS 개발 (DEVELOPMENT OF A TELESCOPE CONTROL SYSTEM, MS-TCS)

  • In this paper we describe MS-TCS, the telescope control system which was developed in Korea Astronomy Observatory. MS-TCS can control an equatorial type telescope equipped with stepping motors and incremental type optical encoders. MS-TCS consists of (1) POINT_TEL which is the program roning in a PC and (2) TCS-196 which is the electroics board to control the telescope. The communication between the PC and TCS-l96 is done through RS-232 or RS-422 serial line. MS-TCS can control the secondary mirror and dome. It also provide network function using TCP/IP for remote control of the telescope. MS-TCS is suitable for controlling medium to small size telescope for research and education.

반도체급 삼염화실란중의 극미량 붕소의 분광 광도법적 측정 (Spectrophotometric Determination of Traces of Boron in Semiconductor-grade Trichlorosilane)

  • 흡착 분리 방법을 이용하여 고순도 삼염화실란(TCS) 중의 미량 붕소 농도를 분광광도법적으로 측정하는 방법을 제안하였다. TCS중의 붕소 화합물과 복합체를 잘 형성하고 황산-quinalizarin계 발색 시약에 잘 녹으며 측정시 간섭 효과를 나타내지 않는 Lewis 염기성 물질로 NaCl이 선택되었다. 이러한 흡착 분리 방법을 통해 TCS분석 도중에 실리카겔 및 기포가 생성되는 문제를 방지할 수 있었는데, 반도체급 TCS중의 붕소 농도는 ${\pm}$20%의 표준편차 범위내에서 6.1 ${\mu}$g/l로 측정되었다. 반면 NaCl로 붕소화합물을 제거시킨 정제된 TCS 중의 붕소 농도는 0.2 ${\mu}$g/l이어서 NaCl의 우수한 흡착 성능을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 NaCl이 TCS 정제 중 붕소 제거에 효과적임을 다른 잘 알려진 흡착제들과 비교 분석하였다.

Effect of 3,3',4',5-Tetrachlorosalicylanilide on Reduction of Excess Sludge and Nitrogen Removal in Biological Wastewater Treatment Process

  • A metabolic uncoupler, 3,3',4',5-tetrachlorosalicylanilide (TCS), was used to reduce excess sludge production in biological wastewater treatment processes. Batch experiments confirmed that 0.4 mg/l of TCS reduced the aerobic growth yield of activated sludge by over 60%. However, the growth yield remained virtually constant even at the increased concentrations of TCS when cultivations were carried out under the anoxic condition. Reduction of sludge production yield was confirmed in a laboratory-scale anoxic-oxic process operated for 6 months. However, it was found that ammonia oxidation efficiency was reduced by as much as 77% in the presence of 0.8 mg/l of TCS in the batch culture. Similar results were also obtained through batch inhibition tests with activated sludges and by bioluminescence assays using a recombinant Nitrosomonas europaea (pMJ217). Because of this inhibitory effect of TCS on nitrification, the TCS-fed continuous system failed to remove ammonia in the influent. When TCS feeding was stopped, the nitrification yield of the process was resumed. Therefore, it seems to be necessary to assess the nitrogen content of wastewater if TCS is used for reducing sludge generation.

General Public Knowledge Regarding Topical Corticosteroids: A Nationwide Survey in South Korea

  • Background: Topical corticosteroids (TCs) are available both as over-the-counter drugs and prescription medicines at pharmacies. Although they are generally safe drugs, inappropriate and excessive use could result in potential side effects. Thus, it is important to have appropriate knowledge regarding the use of TCs. We performed a cross-sectional survey to assess public knowledge and the potential misuse or overuse of TCs. Methods: A cross-sectional and nationwide online survey was conducted among participants who were aware of TCs. The survey items included sources of information, indications, potential side effects, and methods of application of TCs. A comparative analysis was conducted between those with (TC users) and without (TC non-users) an experience of using TCs. Results: Among 3,000 participants, 74.4% were TC users. The mass media was the most common information source of TCs, and only one-third of the surveyed people relied on pharmacists or doctors for information. Regarding indications and application methods, incorrect answer rate was high in some items, but respondents showed adequate knowledge. However, awareness of the safety of TCs was low. Overall, the TC users showed a higher knowledge of TCs than TC non-users. Conclusions: Public knowledge of the use of TCs appears to be appropriate. However, we found potential misuse or overuse of some items and a lack of awareness of the side effects concerning TCs. Thus, healthcare professionals' significant role is required.

퍼지논리를 이용한 차량 구동력 제어 시스템 (Vehicle Traction Control System using Fuzzy Logic Theory)

  • Recently, TCS(Traction Control System) is attracting attention, because it maintains traction ability and steerability of vehicles on low-$\mu$ surface roads by controlling the slip rate between tire and road surface. The development of TCS control law is difficult due to the highly nonlinearity and uncertainty involved in TCS. A fuzzy logic approach is appealing for TCS. In this paper, fuzzy logic controller for TCS is introduced and evaluated by the computer simulation with 8 DOF vehicle model. The result indicate that the fuzzy logic TCS improves vehicle's stability and steerability.

Trichlorosliane 및 Dichlorosilane-Trichlorosliane 혼합물의 자연발화 특성 (Characteristics of Auto-ignition for Trichlorosliane and Dichlorosilane-Trichlorosliane Mixtures)

  • 최소자연발화온도(AIT, autoignition temperature)의 정확한 정보는 산업화재를 예방하고 제어하는데 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 ASTM E659-78 장치를 이용하여 트리클로로실란 순수물질 그리고 디클로로실란(DCS)과 트리클로로실란(TCS) 혼합물의 AIT를 측정하였다. 트리클로로실란의 AIT는 $225^{\circ}C$로 측정되었으며, TCS(90wt%)-DCS(10wt%) 혼합물은 $250^{\circ}C$, TCS(70wt%)-DCS(30wt%) 혼합물은 각각 $236^{\circ}C$에서 발화가 발생하였다.

  • Nowadays, the technology development of communication and system engineering should impact on the Train Control System(TCS). The one of main developments in TCS is the Communication Based Train Control(CBTC), which does not depend on the track circuit. Currently, there are the project to modernize TCS as CBTC system from the track circuit system around the world. In Korea, there are the new CBTC system revenue projects such as Busan-Gimhae LRT, Sin-Bundang Line, and so on. There is also Government project called Maglev Line in Daejeon, which is applied CBTC system. Through the examples of world TCS renovation, it is expected to modernize the track circuit TCS system as CBTC system in Korea. Therefore, we would express the advantage of developing from the traditional TCS system to CBTC TCS system.

스로틀 개도 제어와 부하토크 추정을 이용한 엔진 제어 방식 TCS (Engine Control TCS using Throttle Angle Control and Estimated Load Torque)

  • The purpose of engine control TCS is to regulate engine torque to keep driven wheel slip in a desired range. In this paper, engine control TCS using sliding mode control law based on engine model and estimated load torque is proposed. This system includes a two-level controller. Slip controller calculates desired wheel torque, and engine torque controller determines throttle angle for engine torque corresponding to desired wheel torque. Another issue is to measure load torque for model based controller design. Luenberger observer with state variables of load torque and engine speed solves this problem as estimating load torque. The performance of controller and observer is certificated by simulation using 8-degree vehicle model, Pacejka tire model, and 2-state engine model. The simulation results in various maneuvers during slippery and split road conditions showed that acceleration performance and ability of the vehicle with TCS is improved. Also, the load torque observer could estimate real load torque very well, so its performance was proved.

한국형 고속전철용 신호시스템의 실험실 시험을 위한 통합 신호시스템 (Integrated Railway Signaling Systems for Laboratory Testing of Next-generation High-speed Train)

  • Railway signaling systems consist of several vital computerized equipment such as CTC(Centralized Traffic Control), EIS(Electronic Interlocking System), ATC(Automatic Train Control) and so on. Currently, the project for development of railway signaling systems for the next-generation high-speed train is progressed according to the G7 project and railway signaling related several companies and research institute are joined this project consortium. The railway signaling systems, being developed in this project, called as a kTCS(Korean Train Control System), is composed of kTCS-CTC, kTCS-IXL, kTCS-ATC and etc. kTCS signaling systems have to be operated at the laboratory testing level as integrated signaling systems by interface between each railway signaling systems before railway field installation and revenue service. To solve this matter, communication protocols between each signaling equipment are designed and message codes for each defined protocols have defined. And also several equipment has developed for the railway integrated signaling systems for laboratory testing. We has plentifully tested and verified the designed protocols and the characteristics of integrated railway signaling systems with our developed each kTCS signaling equipment and communication protocols. In this paper, the integrated kTCS system including communication protocols is presented.
