  • Excimer-laser-based crystallization is ideallysuited for forming crystalline Si films on glass substrates for use in active-matrix displays. In this paper, we will report on recent and significant technical advances in light sources and beam delivery systems targeted at enabling ultra-uniform mura-free low-temperature polycrystalline silicon active-matrix backplanes while simultaneously lowering production costs and increasing throughput.

Joint Processing of Zero-Forcing Detection and MAP Decoding for a MIMO-OFDM System

  • We propose a new bandwidth-efficient technique that achieves high data rates over a wideband wireless channel. This new scheme is targeted for a multiple-input multiple- output orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system that achieves transmit diversity through a space frequency block code and capacity enhancement through the iterative joint processing of zero-forcing detection and maximum a posteriori (MAP) decoding. Furthermore, the proposed scheme is compared to the coded Bell Labs Layered Space-Time OFDM (BLAST-OFDM) scheme.

  • This paper presents a design of two gimbal system. One is two axes stabilized platform that is targeted to preserve direction while vehicle that is adhered antiaircraft fire, radar or EOTS is moving. The system maintains stabilization by recovering error using the rate gyro. The other is three axes gimbal system that is intended to simulate various angle movement in space and to test three axes gyroscope. This system determines gyro condition comparing gyro output value with converted motor encoder value.

  • The applicability of the two types of magnetic separation system, high gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) and Magneto Archimedes method were studied considering the magnetic susceptibility of targeted substances. It was noted that the combination of the two methods can control the almost all the substances, paramagnetic and diamagnetic in addition to ferromagnetic substances. The principle of the methods was given and the conceput of the magnet force control technology is discussed. The practical applications of the technique were introduced together with the new application of HGMS.

  • Since the 1960’s, the most attractive geological exploration for gold-silver deposits have been targeted on the sedimentary-host disseminated deposit, originating hydrothermal processes, low-grade (Au 2-8 g/t) but large reserves (5-20 M tons) and led to discovery of the Carlin deposit, following Battle Mountain, Round Mountain, Getchell and etc. in northeastern to central Nevada, USA.   • 본 연구는 대한민국의 나날이 증가하는 범죄에 대한 문제의식을 바탕으로 주요 강력범죄 중 여성을 대상으로 삼는 범죄의 심각성에 대하여 초점을 두고 있다. 특히 4대 강력범죄 중 살인, 강간의 경우 여성이 피해자가 되는 경우가 매우 높게 나타나고 있으며, 최근 데이트 폭력 및 몰카범죄 등이 심각한 사회문제가 되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 여성을 대상으로 하는 범죄의 경우 다양한 기술이 결합된 CPTED를 활용하여 사회적 안전 확보 및 효과적인 환경설계를 통한 범죄예방 방안에 대하여 연구하였다.

  • The JAXA's TechCLEAN project(2003-present) is summarized, with the interim technical achievements. TechCLEAN is collateral program with the NEDO engine project to accelerate R&D work of small passenger aircraft engine as well as to develop innovative environment technologies applicable to the future improvements. In the project NOx reduction, CO2 reduction and noise reduction are targeted. Component level researches and system demonstrator validation are planned with test facility renovation and demonstration base engines.

  • To improve stability and transfection efficiency, a novel combination of cationic emulsion and galactosylated chitosan was developed for targeted gene delivery. Six formulations of cationic liposome and our novel emulsion were prepared for comparison of stability and transfection efficiency. Cationic liposomes composed of 3[N-(N.N dimethylaminoethylene) carbamoyl] cholesterol (DC-Chol) and dioleyl phophatidyl ethanolamine (DOPE) were prepared by extrusion method and cationic emulsions composed of DC-Chol. DOPE. castor oil, and Tween 80 were prepared by sonication method. (omitted)
