Through observing effect of BOPEASAN(BPT) on an aging white rat's metabolic enzyme system, the following conclusions were addressed 1. The quantity of the lipid peroxide in lung of was decreased meaningfully in all of experimental subject groups, relatively to counterpart groups. 2. Cytochrome P-450, Cytochrome b5, NADPH-Cytochrome P45, was decreased meaningfully in the experimental subject groups B,C and D. 3. superoxide dismutase, catarase, grutathione peroxidase, was increased meaningfully in the experimental subject groups B.C and D. 4. glutathione, glutathione S-transferase, glutathione redutase, ${\gamma}$-Glutamylcytein synthetase, had no meaningful change in the experimental subject groups. Regarding the above conclusions, the Bopeasan was affecting positively on both lipid peroxide a nd the enzyme system, as well as it has efficacy of suppressing the phenomena of aging, Therefore, the Bopeasan is, hereafter, expected to be applied clinically.

Purpose: This study was to compare and examine the effects of auricular acupressure therapy on insomnia in the elderly by Sasangin constitution. Methods: This study was designed to compare three groups according to Sasangin constitution (Tae Yin In, So Yang In, and So Yin In) in terms of the changeful effects of auricular acupressure therapy on insomnia in the elderly. The subjects were 81 (Tae Yin In: 28, So Yang In: 26, and So Yin In: 27) persons aged over 65 years who were living in Seoul or Gyunggi Province. Data were collected from May, 2007 to July, 2008, and analyzed by SPSS/WIN 16.0. Results: 1. The effect of auricular acupressure on insomnia in Tae Yin In was higher than that in So Yang In, and its effect in So Yang In was higher than that in So Yin In. 2. The effect was highest after the 4th treatment in Tae Yin In, after the 5th treatment in So Yang In, and after the 6th treatment in So Yin In. Conclusions: The use of auricular acupressure therapy in consideration of individual elders' Sasangin constitution can maximize its effect to relieve insomnia in the elderly.

Objectives: There are substantial variations on the methods of identifying Sa-sang typology in clinical practice. This review aimed to describe the clinical experiences on the classification of Sa-sang typology based on index signs for practice of Tae-Geuk acupuncture. Methods: Core physical signs and interpretation of treatment response for the classification of Sa-sang typology are suggested based on 42-year clinical experiences of the expert (the first author). Results: Epigastric tenderness and hepatic dullness sound are the most important physical sign in the classification of Sa-sang typology. Clinical experiences indicate that there may be a positive association between the presence of epigastric tenderness and hepatic dullness sound. Four sets of acupuncture points are matched for four types of Sa-sang institution, respectively. Appropriate match will resolve epigastric tenderness and hepatic dullness sound, while this will not happen if inappropriate match is employed. Conclusion: I suggest that two physical signs (i.e., epigastric tenderness and hepatic dullness sound) are essential for the classification of Sa-sang typology in Tae-Geuk acupuncture.

Knowing the reason for constitutional severe sweating of Tae-Eum-In, we have collected 20 person of Tae-Eum-In and 20 person of the others, and measured weight and circumference of neck, chest, abdomen and hip and cholinesterase, epinephrine and norepinephrine in blood. Except group of epinephrine among them, remakable difference had been in the rest comparision, so it considerded that be able to distinguish the characteristics of constitutions.
