  • 이 논문에서 나는 오코너의 행위자 원인론에 대해 고찰한다. 그 이론에 따르면, 행위자 원인 사건에 호소하지 않을 경우, 의도나 행위에 대해 행위자가 가지는 통제력을 설명할 수 없다. 그러나 나는 행위자 원인 사건은 행위자의 통제력에 도움이 될 수 없다고 주장한다. 이러한 주장을 위해 나는 이유 반응성이 행위자의 통제력을 위한 필요조건이라는 것을 보인다. 행위자 원인 사건이 행위자의 통제력을 설명하는 데 도움을 주기 위해서는, '이유 반응 조건'을 충족시킬 수 있어야만 한다. 그러나 행위자 원인 사건은 그 조건을 충족시키지 못한다. 나는 이러한 이유로 행위자 원인 사건은 행위자의 통제력에 도움을 줄 수 없다고 결론짓는다.

  • A ternary Zintl phase material of the formula $K_2Ga_2Sb_4$ has been prepared directly from reaction of the elements following a high temperature procedure. The compound consists of potassium ions and planar ribbons of $(Ga_2Sb_4^{-2})_{\infty}$ consisting of five membered $[Ga_2Sb_3]$ rings bridged by Sb atoms. The variable temperature specific resistivity measurements show the material to be an intrinsic semiconductor.

  • Treemaps, a space filling visualization technique, displays a massive data set of hierarchical data interactively on a single computer screen by mapping it to a matrix of rectangles. It allows users to visually inspect and manipulate data to find new relationships or discrepancies that are to difficult to find using traditional techniques. This paper applies treemaps to the evaluation of highway project bids, which contain hundreds or thousands of elements arranged in a hierarchical structure. Through a case study, treemaps are shown to be a potentially effective tool for bid evaluation by both contractors and State or Federal highway officials.

  • Despite a growing number of natural language processing shared-tasks dedicated to the use of Twitter data, there is currently no ad-hoc annotation tool for the purpose. During the 6th edition of Biomedical Linked Annotation Hackathon (BLAH), after a short review of 19 generic annotation tools, we adapted GATE and TextAE for annotating Twitter timelines. Although none of the tools reviewed allow the annotation of all information inherent of Twitter timelines, a few may be suitable provided the willingness by annotators to compromise on some functionality.

  • Achieving sustainability targets on construction projects has increasingly become one of the prime strategies for construction organizations. To provide more detailed guidance on sustainability implementation on projects, Construction Industry Institute (CII) Research Team (RT) 304 developed a catalog of the Construction Phase Sustainability Actions (CPSAs). The primary objective of this paper was the development of two support tools, the CPSA Screening Tool and the CPSA Implementation Index, that could be used to enable efficient application of CPSAs, support sustainability-related decisions, and measure CPSA implementation and performance. The authors developed the tools in four stages: conceptual, detailed planning, tool programming, and testing. The tools were then demonstrated on a capital project to confirm their efficacy and applicability. This paper presents the background, inputs and outputs, and the algorithms of each tool. The CPSA Screening Tool can prioritize the CPSAs most relevant to a project; the CPSA Implementation Index enables continuous monitoring of implementation levels.

  • Effective cost management requires reliable cost estimates at every stage of project development. The primary purpose of this research is to develop systematic modeling procedures and an automatic computing program for infrastructure estimating in the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The computing system toggles between project input information and segregated district unit prices for highway work item quantity estimates associated with earthwork and landscape, subgrade treatments and base, surface courses and pavement, structures, miscellaneous construction, and lighting, signing, markings and signals. This quantity-based approach was chosen because of the conventional approach lacking of quantity information until primary design is complete.

  • In recent years, use of the web technologies and on-line process has immensely swapped single-user platform practice. This study attempted to develop preliminary cost estimating program by means of Web technologies based on statistical modeling results. A prototype Web-based Preliminary Item-Level Cost Estimating System (WBPILCES) using open source software was developed as an on-line estimating tool in this research. The primary objective is to study the possible flexibility of implementing a centralized information system that will be maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) IT division. The full-scale deployment of proposed information architecture is expected to seamlessly integrate with legacy database system currently used by TxDOT so as to streamline data storage, cost growth tracking and estimates documentation.

  • Effective communication flow is a fundamental for the success of any construction projects. The key role of communications among project parties is even more critical in the case of Design-Build (DB) projects. Previous research has shown that these projects have an environment where integration between different project team members and schedule constraints increase channels of communication, and require faster communication flows. This paper summarizes the findings from research analyzing organizational structures and communication flow of the Texas State Highway 130 (SH130) project. Awarded in 2002, the SH130 project, totaling $1.3 billion USD, constitutes the "pilot" application for the DB approach in the state of Texas. A set of observations pertaining to team organization and communication issues in the design-build environment is included.

임상치과위생사에서 간접시진 능력과 근골격계 통증과의 연관성 (Association between indirect vision skills and musculoskeletal pain in dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to analyze the association between indirect vision skills and neck, shoulder, and back pain in dental hygienists. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 85 dental hygienists working full-time at dental clinics. A survey was performed for musculoskeletal symptoms in the neck, shoulders, and back of the subjects. The O'Connor tweezer dexterity test was performed using a mirror to evaluate their indirect vision skills. For statistical analyses, the t-test and one-way analysis of variance were performed. Results: The neck was the most common region of musculoskeletal pain (89.4%). The most intense pain was experienced in the neck (70.6%) and right shoulder (60.0%). Neck pain (20.0%) caused the most interference with clinical practice. Indirect vision skills were lower in the group with severe pain in the left shoulder or with high interference in work due to the left shoulder pain (p=0.026 and p= 0.017, respectively) or right shoulder pain (p=0.004). Conclusions: In this study, neck pain was a major musculoskeletal symptom among dental hygienists, and poor indirect vision skills were associated with the development of shoulder pain. Therefore, to prevent such musculoskeletal symptoms, dental hygienists should become proficient in indirect visualization, which enables a balanced and neutral posture.

밭토양(土壌)의 수리전도도(水理伝導度)에 대(対)한 염류효과(塩類効果) (Salinity Effects on the Hydraulic Conductivity of Uplands)

  • 미(美) New Mexico주(州)에 많이 분포(分布)하는 Sheppard사토(砂土), Doak사양토(砂壌土), Lea사질식양토(砂質埴壌土) 및 Glendale식토(埴土)를 대상(対象)으로 관개수질(潅漑水質)에 따른 토양(土壌)의 투수성(透水性) 변화(変化)를 구명(究明)하기 위(為)하여 T.D.N. $1,250{\sim}15,000mg/{\ell}$인 염류수(塩類水)와 증류수(蒸溜水)를 관수(潅水)하여 실내(室內)에서 수리전도도(水理伝導度)를 측정(測定)하였다. 염류수(塩類水)가 유일(唯一)한 관개수원(潅漑水源)일 때의 수리전도도(水理伝導度)는 염농도변화(塩濃度変化)에 의한(依) 영향(影響)을 별(別)로 받지 않았으나 토양특성별(土壌特性別)로는 Sheppard사토(砂土)가 Glendale 식토(埴土)보다 투수성(透水性)이 매우 높았다. 염류수(塩類水)로 기(旣) 관개(潅漑)된 토양(土壌)에 양질(良質)의 관개수(潅漑水) 즉(卽) 증류수(蒸溜水) 처리(処理)는 수리전도도(水理伝導度)를 현저(顯著)게 감소(減少)시켰는데 이것은 사질(砂質)~양질계(壌質系) 토양(土壌)의 경우(境遇) 점토(粘土)의 분산(分散) 또는 장(長) 단거리(短距離) 이동(移動)에 의(依)한 Conducting pore의 봉쇄(封鎖)이며 식질계(埴質系) 토양(土壌)은 점토(粘土)의 팽창(膨脹)이 주(主)된 원인(原因)이었던 것으로 판단(判断)된다. 따라서 주(主) 관개수원(潅漑水源)이 염류수(塩類水)이고 자연강우(自然降雨)가 수반(隨伴)되어도 사질계(砂質系) 토양(土壌)에서는 문제점(問題点)이 없겠으나 식질계(埴質系) 토양(土壌)은 투수성(透水性) 감소(減少)에 의(依)한 염해유발(塩害誘発)의 가능성(可能性)을 내포(內包)하고 있으므로 관개시(潅漑時) 고려(考慮)되어야 한다.
