Axial Strength Evaluation for Tubular T-Joints with Internal Ring Stiffener (환보강재를 가진 T형 관이음부의 축방향 강도 평가)

  • Tubular structures are widely used for offshore platforms and truss type structures. In this paper, nonlinear finite element analysis is used to assess the static strength of stiffened tubular T-joints subjected to compressive brace loading. This joints was modelled with and without internal ring stiffener According to variation of ring geometries, the effect of ring stiffener for T-joints are investigated. Internal ring stiffener is found to be efficient improving ultimate strength of tubular joints. Relations of ring thickness and axial strength are observed considering geometric parameters of ring stiffeners.

  • 본 연구에서는 교각구조물의 안전도 평가를 위하여 먼저 대상구조물을 선정하고, 현장조사에 의해 구조물의 제원 및 손상도를 조사하였으며, 구조해석 결과에 의해 휨에 대한 안전성 검토 및 전단에 대한 안전도 검토를 강도설계법에 의해 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 수행된 풍하중을 고려한 교각구조물의 구조안전도 평가 사례는 차후의 교각구조물 안전성 검토에 대한 기초자료로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.(중략)

  • In this study, the optimized initial hole shape for T-branch forming was proposed to obtain effective welding region. Design variables were determined by approximation analysis using volume constant condition. We performed 3D elastic-plastic FEM(Finite Element Method) analysis to simulate T-branch forming process. The variation of height and thickness of T-branch with various hole shapes was investigated. The optimized initial hole shape equation was obtained by using results for the numerical analysis.

  • 본 논문은 3상 T-type 3-레벨 인버터의 중성점 전압 제어를 위한 예측제어에 관한 연구이다. 최근 인버터의 효율 향상 등의 장점으로 멀티레벨 인버터가 주목받고 있다. 모델예측제어 방식은 물리적 입력 상태를 반영하여 최적의 성능을 제공할 수 있는 제어기법이다. 3-레벨 인버터에서는 전압벡터의 개수가 많아 예측제어기법을 적용하기에는 계산시간이 오래걸리는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 SPWM 방식에 예측저어를 통해 offset 을 주는 방식으로 DC-link단 중성점 전압제어를 하였다.

A Study on Improvement of Vision Inspector for T Type Welding nut auto Sorting System using a Masked Histogram Equalization (마스크 히스토그램 평준화를 이용한 T형 용접너트 자동 선별시스템의 비전검사기 성능개선에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a improvement method of vision inspector for T type welding nut using an auto sorting system. We used edge and thread detection with histogram of image which is captured by machine vision camera. We also used a binary morphology operation for a detection of spot. A major problem in this vision inspector is abnormal operation caused by degradation of image acquired. These degradations caused by oil pollution on conveyer belt. For overcome this problem, we introduce a pre-processing using a masked histogram equalization on the image acquired. Histogram equalization is applied on masked region (nut part) for increase contrast. As a result, we can remove features caused by oil pollution on background and reduce a ratio of abnormal operation from 10.0 % to 0.2 %.

Minimum Weight Design of Built-up T Based on HCSR (HCSR 기반 T형 조립부재의 최소중량설계)

  • In a conventional ship structure, stiffeners with an asymmetric section, such as inverted angles, are used widely despite the disadvantage of strength compared to the stiffeners with a symmetric section, such as a built-up T. On the other hand, T-type built-up members are attracting more attention than L-type inverted angles due to the increased size of ships. The purpose of this study was to develop an optimal design program for a built-up T, and apply an evolution strategy as an optimization technique. In the optimization process, the gross thickness concept was adopted for the design variables and objective function, and the constraints are set up based on HCSR (Harmonized Common Structural Rules). Using the developed program in this study, the optimal stiffener design was carried out for 300K VLCC and 158K COT of which the orders were obtained lately. The optimal results revealed the weight reduction effect of 144 tons and 60 tons, respectively.

A Study on Bending Fatigue Strength of One Side Fillet Welded T-Joint by SM 490A steel (Sm 490A강으로 제작된 T형 편면용접이음재의 굽힘피로강동에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a fillet size for bending fatigue strength of one side fillet welded T-joint, used in box type girder and other welding structure, was investigated by bending fatigue test with or without edge preparation and burn through, with variation of joint shape. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained. (1) In one side fillet welded T-joint, the larger the leg length, the greater the bending fatigue strength. The increase in bending fatigue strength. (2) One side filet welded T-joint with edge preparation showed higher bending fatigue strength than that with twofold-large leg length and without edge preparation. (3) In one side fillet welded T-joint without edge preparation, both manual welding and automatic welding were carried out with same condition. In this case, automatic welding shoed deeper penetration and more increased horizontal leg length than manual welding, so that automatic welding offers grater bending fatigue strength. (4) For one side fillet welded T-joint without edge preparation, the ratio(h/t) of the leg length (h) and the main plate thickness (t) in which toe crack can occur was 1.2 over. (5) In one side fillet welded T-joint with edge preparation, the burn through led to reduced bending fatigue strength. However, this bending fatigue strength was higher than that of one side fillet welded T-joint without edge preparation and with a larger leg length.

Experiments of the Lateral Loading Capacity of Exterior Joints of Non-seismically Designed RC Frames in Korea (비내진설계된 우리나라 RC 외부 접합부의 횡저항 능력에 관한 실험)

  • To investigate the cyclic characteristics of exterior joints in RC frame buildings which are typically used after 1988, 70% scaled T-shaped beam-column subassemblies were designed and tested with a displacement control that is composed of 9 steps, until 3.5% story drift was reached. Axial forces are applied to columns during the experiment to simulate a real situation. The results show that the non-seismic detailed specimens failed before reaching 0.85% story drift, and their strengths are less than 0.85 times the nominal flexural strength which beam or columns should reach. The relationship of principal stress and story drift of exterior joints is similar to the one that Priestly proposed.

A series of experimental scheme were planned and mainly experimental parameters were : ratio of diameter of branch-diameter of main chord(d/D). diameter-thickness(T/D) of main chord. In this paper predicted yield load capacity using by closed ring analysis method additionally compared with that of suggested by closed ring analysis method additionally compared with that of suggested by other countries.

Design of wideband microstrip monopole slot antenna (광대역 마이크로스트립 모노폴 슬롯안테나의 설계)

  • In the present study, wideband microstrip monopole slot antennas which can be applied to the RF4CE Zigbee remote controller are designed. First I-shaped monopole slot antenna which has ${\lambda}g/4$ length at 2.45GHz is designed. In particular, a conducting via is used to connect the microstrip feed line and the ground plane surrounded with the etched slot for the bandwidth improvement. In order to reduce the antenna size, it is changed into L-shaped and T-shaped monopole slot antennas for which improve results of antenna performance are observed. In case of T-shaped monopole slot antenna, impedance bandwidth(VSWR<2) is about 3.32GHz, and also its radiation efficiency and gain is more than 90% and 2.1dBi respectively at whole operating frequency range. In particular, all of proposed monopole slot antennas have the end-fire radiations which has a maximum radiation power toward direction of open ends of monopole slots.
