A Regression-Based Approach for Central Warehouse Location Problem (중앙창고 입지선정을 위한 회귀분석기반 해법)

  • In continuous review inventory model, (${\varrho}$, ${\gamma}$) system, order quantity(${\varrho}$) and reorder point(${\gamma}$) should be determined to calculate inventory-related cost that consists of setup, holding, and penalty costs. The procedure to obtain the exact value of ${\varrho}$ and ${\gamma}$ is complex. In this paper, a regression analysis is proposed to get the approximate inventory-related cost without the determination of ${\varrho}$ and ${\gamma}$ in the case that the standard deviation(${\sigma}$) of the lead time demand is small or that the mean(${\mu}$) of the lead time demand is proportional to ${\sigma}$. To save inventory-related cost, central warehouses with (${\varrho}$, ${\gamma}$) system can be built. Central warehouse can provide some stores with products with the consideration of the tradeoff between inventory-related cost and transportation cost. The number and the location of central warehouses to cover all the stores are determined by a regression-based approach. The performance of the proposed approach is tested by using some computational experiments.

  • The Purpose of this paper is how KM is implemented and executed to reform the organization in the change management aspect and how its current KM can be developed in the future, mainly based on the organizational system, business process, and information system related to KM. This Paper is longitudinal case study of Knowledge Management at LG-EDS Systems. The effective approach to undertake KM is phase. First, it is structured to share explicit knowledge for better performance and then implicit knowledge for best performance. But, This method had some limitations. So, LG-EDS systems integrated KMS-Knowledge Portal-to facilitate cooperation and improve contents quality.

Prospects & Issues of NFT Art Contents in Blockchain Technology (블록체인 NFT 문화예술콘텐츠의 현황과 과제)

  • In various fields such as art, design, music, film, sports, games, and fashion, NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are creating new economic value through trading platforms dedicated to NFT art and content. In this article, I analyze the current state of blockchain technology and NFT art content in the context of an expanding market for blockchain-based NFT art content in the metaverse. I also propose several tasks based on the economic and industrial logic of technological innovation. The first task proposed is to integrate cultural arts on blockchain, metaverse, and NFT platforms through digital innovation, instead of separating or distinguishing between creative production and consumption. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a clear separation between creators and consumers. However, with the rise of Web 3.0 platforms, any user can now create and own their own content. Therefore, it is important to promote a collaborative and integrated approach to cultural arts production and consumption in the blockchain and metaverse ecosystem. The second task proposed is to align the legal framework with blockchain-based technological innovation. The enactment and revision of relevant laws should focus on promoting the development of the NFT trading platform ecosystem, rather than merely regulating it for user protection. As blockchain-based technology continues to evolve, it is important that legal systems adapt to support and promote innovation in the space. This shift in focus can help create a more conducive environment for the growth of blockchain-based NFT platforms. The third task proposed is to integrate education on digital arts, including metaverse and NFT art contents, into the current curriculum. This education should focus on convergence and consilience, rather than merely mixing together humanities, technology, and arts. By integrating digital arts education into the curriculum, students can gain a more comprehensive understanding of the potential of blockchain-based technologies and NFT art. This article examines the digital technological innovation such as blockchain, metaverse, and NFT from an economic and industrial point of view. As a limitation of this research, the critical mind such as philosophical thinking or social criticism on technological innovation is left as a future task.

Identifying Antecedents of Service Innovation: Based on Service-Dominant Logic and Resource-Advantage Theory (서비스 혁신의 선행요인에 관한 연구: 서비스 지배적 논리와 자원 우위 이론을 중심으로)

  • Service innovation is one means of gaining an advantage in a highly competitive environment. Although numerous studies have stressed the importance of service innovation, traditional good-dominant logic is still used in service innovation literature. Furthermore, few studies have been conducted on the link between service innovation and its antecedents in terms of service-oriented approach. To fill the gap, this article theoretically and empirically examines service innovation and its antecedents and consequences. Based on service-dominant logic and resource advantage theory, the current study aims to understand the effect of antecedents on service innovation as well as to identify the effect of service innovation on firm performance (i.e., non-financial and financial performance). Three service innovation activities, namely service creation-focused innovation, service delivery-focused innovation, and customer interaction-focused innovation, and four antecedents of service innovation, including human resource management capability, collaboration capability, marketing capability, and information technology capability, are identified based on Den Hertog (2000)'s service innovation framework. By using the empirical data collected from 189 service firms in Korea, this study explores the causal relationship among antecedents, service innovation and firm performance. Findings indicate that human resource management and marketing capabilities influence the three types of service innovation, whereas collaboration and information technology capabilities have a significant effect on both service creation-focused innovation and service delivery-focused innovation. In particular, human resource management capability is strongly related to customer interaction-focused innovation. The three types of service innovation have a positive influence on non-financial performance, whereas service delivery-focused innovation and customer interaction-focused innovation positively influence financial performance. These results support the crucial effects of antecedents, such as human resource management, collaboration, marketing and information technology capabilities, on service innovation.

Understanding of the Fintech Phenomenon in the Beholder's Eyes in South Korea

  • Advances in information technology (IT) bring about technological innovation in financial businesses, referred to as financial technology (fintech), beyond the traditional financial industry. While fintech implies more convenient and various financial services to customers, it leads to more complexity in the financial sector, as different industry players (e.g., IT firms) can participate in financial businesses. The complexity of fintech causes controversial issues related to policies and the appropriate development direction. In order to provide insight into the current state of fintech, this study explores the fundamental understanding of the fintech phenomenon from the perspective of the major stakeholders (i.e., financial authorities, financial companies, IT firms) in South Korea. This study analyzed news articles, where those stakeholders expressed their arguments, by using a content analysis. The study also conducted an intensive examination of their arguments by using a core-periphery approach of social representations. This study found that while the three beholders had a common opinion on deregulation of the fintech industry, each of them had different knowledge of the phenomenon. By revealing each beholder's structure of representations of fintech, this study not only provides common knowledge regarding fintech but also explicates the perceptual gaps among stakeholders. Findings of the study offer a big picture of current fintech initiatives, which can be useful knowledge for future research on fintech.

Requirements Engineering Process Applying the Blue Ocean Strategy (블루오션 전략을 적용한 요구공학 프로세스)

  • According to the change of customer needs, integration with other systems, and the advent of new technology, it is inevitable for the existing system requirements to be requested to redesign. However, there are actually no methodologies and processes to be able to reorganize the existing requirements or integrate a number of requirements different from each other. The traditional requirements processes do not work when solving such problems. Thus, since the existing approaches to develop requirements are not helpful, many traditional requirement engineering processes can not help falling in Red Ocean. In this paper, in order to solve such the problems, we propose a novel requirements engineering process applying Blue ocean strategy which is used to open a non-competition market not discovered yet. Blue Ocean approach is a novel effective method to elicit and build up new requirements from customers. In order to accomplish the strategy, this paper presents a framework and processes to discover new perspectives and analyze the corresponding requirements. In addition, some pieces of case study are presented to introduce how our approach is applied to practical system developments and the evaluation analysis for how valid it is.

Determinants of Wearable Device Usage: Perspectives of Behavioral Economics (웨어러블 디바이스 사용 결정요인: 행동경제학을 중심으로)

  • Purpose Wearable device is considered as one of the methods powering the growth of the next generation. However, ICT's innovation resistance has been a contributing factor in slowing down this spread of wearable devices. Taking into consideration the lack of empirical research to this phenomenon, this study served to examine the effect of determinants of wearable devices to usage with the perspectives of behavioral economics. Design/methodology/approach: For research purposes, this study developed research hypotheses in order to empirically examine the factors that might have a significant effect on the usage of the wearable device. The empirical research was based on a survey which carried through 500 participants. Research results were evaluated via SPSS Statistics 21.0 and AMOS 19 statistical package program. Findings: Results showed that perceived costs and benefits had a significant effect on coupling. It means that perceived benefits lowering coupling and perceived costs increasing coupling. Perceived costs and benefits also had a significant effect on innovation resistance. Finally, perceived costs and benefits had a significant effect on the consumers' usage of wearable devices.

  • SNS(Social Network Services) is being recognized as an important part in our society, individual lives and corporate business aspects, and the influence of SNS is growing explosively as expansion and supply of infrastructures that support mobile environments increase. Previous studies related to SNS were focused on user acceptance of new technology, based on Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). However, they had a limitation to focus on technology acceptance, without the consideration of personal and behavioral factors in SNS use. However, above all, successful SNS requires the understanding of users who are active on the network. Therefore, from the user's perspective, this study attempted a multi-dimensional approach by reflecting characteristics that come from SNS usage. This study considered user innovation, virtual skill, self-efficacy, social pressure and network effect as independent variables, and perceived ease-of-use, perceived usefulness and perceived value as mediating variables, and intention-to-use as dependent variable. The result showed that user innovation, self-efficacy, social pressure and network effect had a significant effect on the mediating variables. The practical contribution of this study is to suggest useful decision alternatives concerned to marketing strategy for acquiring and retaining lone-term customers related to SNS business.

Design and operation of the transparent integral effect test facility, URI-LO for nuclear innovation platform

  • Conventional integral effect test facilities were constructed to enable the precise observation of thermal-hydraulic phenomena and reactor behaviors under postulated accident conditions to prove reactor safety. Although these facilities improved the understanding of thermal-hydraulic phenomena and reactor safety, applications of new technologies and their performance tests have been limited owing to the cost and large scale of the facilities. Various nuclear technologies converging 4th industrial revolution technologies such as artificial intelligence, drone, and 3D printing, are being developed to improve plant management strategies. Additionally, new conceptual passive safety systems are being developed to enhance reactor safety. A new integral effect test facility having a noticeable scaling ratio, i.e., the (UNIST reactor innovation loop (URI-LO), is designed and constructed to improve the technical quality of these technologies by performance and feasibility tests. In particular, the URI-LO, which is constructed using a transparent material, enables better visualization and provides physical insights on multidimensional phenomena inside the reactor system. The facility design based on three-level approach is qualitatively validated with preliminary analyses, and its functionality as a test facility is confirmed through a series of experiments. The design feature, design validation, functionality test, and future utilization of the URI-LO are introduced.

BPR Consulting applying New Customer Value Innovation Requirements Engineering Process (새로운 고객 가치혁신 요구공학 프로세스를 적용한 BPR 컨설팅)

  • (Most companies that perform BPR have not achieved satisfactory results or have not performed successful BPRs. There are many reasons for this, but the most important one has caused problems that do not accurately reflect the requirements of various stakeholders. In this paper, we will apply the BPR consulting methodology to a new value innovation requirements engineering process based on the Blue Ocean strategy, which is a way to create a new market without competition by customerizing potential customers by satisfying new customer expectations and needs. This paper uses a requirements engineering process that can generate customer value by applying the ERRC(Erasure Reduce Raise Create) analysis method, which is the core of the Blue Ocean Strategy Framework[1,2]. We will also apply the Six Sigma DFSS (Design For Six Sigma) methodology to improve quality and process through quantitative and systematic analysis. The proposed approach was presented to the BPR consulting to present a practical case, and the results of the empirical analysis of the system user to validate the results of BPR consulting.
