The cost of preparing munitions in weapon system operation and management has been rapidly increasing and current weapon systems have become complicated and diverse due to new warfare pattern changes and the rapid growth of advanced scientific technology. Moreover, as a part of the execution plans of creative economics, the Korean government is actively reviewing how to minimize the costs of preparing munitions. Accordingly, this study derived the issues of munitions management for decreasing munitions preparing costs. First, the issues of munitions management were introduced through review and analysis with respect to the munitions classification criteria, regulations and systems, and equipment maintenance information systems. Second, we proposed the application and necessity for the real-name system which is responsible for munitions management and the fragmentation of the maintenance instructions status classification criteria.. Also, we were analyzed that the effects depending on the application. Finally, we proposed that the linkage system which is currently military active with equipment maintenance information systems as well as the total life-cycle management system (TLCSM) improvements to the itemized data and records management system by utilizing IT technology CMB that must be done in order to improve the issues.

Patent analysis is the extracting knowledge which is needed for the company's research and development strategy through accumulated worldwide patent database. In order to set the future direction of corresponding technology which is scheduled to be developed, the technology trends and deployment processes are identified by analyzing results of present patent applications. The patent analysis provides the required results for analyzing present patent applications. In this paper, we will carry out technology classification for related patent analysis methods and systems. Moreover we will investigate and analyze related domestic patents, U.S. patents and IEEE papers. Due to the characteristics of technology sector, not only patents are applied but also research papers are released actively about patent analysis system. We will analyze patents according to the technology classification by using the final searching results which come from the selected search words in this study. To find necessary niche technology which is needed for patent analysis system, matrix analysis was performed to all of valid patents and papers. Identifying the technology development trends of registered patent analysis systems, and presenting the future direction of technology development which is related to patent analysis system. To figure out the technology which is developed relatively weak based on domestic patents, U.S patent and research papers by analyzing the valid patents and papers with statistical test and self-organizing map quantitatively. Then, presenting the necessity of this technology development.
Recently in information business, managing and auditing are getting more difficult because of enlargement, intellectualization and convergence. In addition, ordering organizations have been having a difficult time choosing a service because not only there is a huge overlap between information audit system and PMO but also the work boundaries of those two are not clear enough. As the demand that a business managing and auditing frame work need to be more developed in terms of independence, quality, economic feasibility and responsibility has been increased, the Korea Association Of Information Systems Audit has been attempting to improve business management and audit system by proposing Unified Project Management Framework whose process is approximately constructed. This study introduces Unified Project Management Framework which is all-encompassing from the ordering at the very beginning of business to the operating in the post-processing step and then verifies its work scope through a comparative analysis with existing management systems. Also, this thesis examines the necessity of unification of audit system and PMO by analysing existing similar systems. At the end, this study, analyses the suitability of Unified Project Management Framework by evaluating it with IT goal frame of COBIT5 which is constructed based on BSC performance management index. The result of the analysis is expected to help people in charge understanding the features of Unified Project Management Framework before they apply it to practical business.

The United Nation agreed to adopt the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) until 2008 to solve the significant differences enough to result in different labels or MSDS for the same chemical in different jurisdictions. Though the GHS is an ideal solution in the respect of pursuing only one format of a MSDS throughout the world, it may cause confusion at the beginning due to lack of information. So the Korean Ministry of Labor (MOL) revised the Industrial Safety and Health Act (ISHA) and related public notice on the classification & labelling of chemicals according to the GHS in 2006. The transition period for the implementation of the GHS for substances was set until Jun 30, 2010, and for mixtures until Jun 30, 2013. To promote the implementation of the GHS in Korea, we developed an application program for constructing MSDS database and a management program for providing MSDS contents on the web in accordance with the GHS. We analyzed the sixteen sections of MSDS by the GHS guideline, and the result showed the necessity to construct logically connected DB for chemical identifier, hazard classification, label, standard phrases and regulatory information. Each section of a MSDS was divided into sub-databases to update the database efficiently. According to Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), the sub-databases were automatically assembled and subsequently a full MSDS is produced. At present, MSDS database for 6,314 substances has been built and provided through internet as the MSDS Editing program. During the service period from January 1 to March 31, 13,666 users have searched MSDSs for 33,401 substances. During program review, some comments about the classification results and other MSDS element sources were reported but no technical bug reported. We expect that the MSDS DB management system in accordance with GHS will accelerate the implementation of the GHS in Korea.

The braking system is one of the most important components in vehicles and machines. It must exert a reliable braking force when they are brought to a halt. Generally, frictional heat is generated by converting kinetic energy into heat energy through friction. As the kinetic energy is converted into heat energy, high temperature heat is generated which affects the mechanical behavior of the braking system. Frictional heat affects the thermal expansion and friction coefficient of the brake system. If the temperature is not controlled, the brake performance will be decreased. Therefore, it is important to predict and control the heat generation of the brake. Various numerical analysis studies have been carried out to predict the frictional heat, but they assumed the existence of boundary conditions in the numerical analysis to simulate the frictional heat, because the simulation of frictional heat is difficult and time consuming. The results were based on the assumption that the frictional heat is different from the actual temperature distribution in a rotating brake system. Therefore, the reliability of the cooling effect or thermal stress using the results of these studies is insufficient. In order to overcome these limitations and establish a simulation procedure to predict the frictional heat, this study directly simulates the frictional heat generation by using a thermal-structure coupling element. In this study, we analyzed the thermo-mechanical behavior of a brake model, in order to investigate the thermal characteristics of brake systems by using the Finite Element method (FEM). This study suggests the necessity to directly simulate the frictional heating and it is hoped that it can provide the necessary information for simulations.

As the Korean economy went into a recession because of the global financial crisis in 2008, in order to vitalize the Korean economy, the government raised SOC budget and made its execution earlier. To prevent increases in budget for the government financial investment projects, the government controlled the project cost of SOC construction projects by enacting 'Guideline for total project cost management' in 1994 and complementing the relevant system. However, different from government intention, the total project cost of SOC projects were increased drastically. Hence, the government authorities and research institutions insisted the necessity of supplementation and improvement for the total project cost management system. This research is to provide the improvement for the total project cost management system of domestic SOC projects. In this research, As-Is Model was adjusted considering status of the total project cost management in the current SOC projects. Also the cost management of construction projects between domestic and other developed countries was studied, analyzed and compared. Based on the above, problems related to total project cost management of domestic SOC projects were found out and an improved total project cost management was provided to improve these problems.
Recently, Police integrity has been issued on the media, which cause discredit of police organization. Although high level of morality and integrity are required compared to other occupational groups due to their authority to exert legal force to the citizens and a variety of policies have been enforced by the National Police Agency for the purpose of uplifting the integrity of the officers, in reality, corruption had not yet been eradicated. At this point in time, this study attempted to draw implications for uplifting integrity by utilizing domestic and foreign preceding studies and statistical data related to police corruption and uplifting integrity. The inspection system through whistle-blowing was pointed out as a problem in the institutional framework that hinders uplifting integrity of the police officers and the perception in which police officers are regarded as potential criminals was also pointed out as a problem. Also, vague standards of disciplinary action in examining an offense of a police officer and lack of care for those who were disciplined in the past which affects loyalty to the organization were presented as problems. Based on such suggested concerns, policies for uplifting integrity and restoring citizens' trust in the policies officers were proposed. The proposed agenda were warning the police officers by presenting clear and specific category of corruptive behaviors, expressing the necessity of devising a system that prevents the officers from committing serious crimes by discovering problematic officers earlier through introduction of Early Warning System(EWS) of US and Australian police in order to break away from exposure-oriented inspection system, and reinforcing the testing of integrity in the new employment process.
A major concern regarding the collection and storage of biodiversity information is the inefficiency of conventional taxonomic approaches in dealing with a large number of species. This inefficiency has increased the demand for automated, rapid, and reliable molecular identification systems and large-scale biological databases. DNA-based taxonomic approaches are now arguably a necessity in biodiversity studies. In particular, DNA barcoding using short DNA sequences provides an effective molecular tool for species identification. We constructed a large-scale database system that holds a collection of 5531 barcode sequences from 2429 Korean species. The Korea Barcode of Life database (KBOL, http://koreabarcode.org) is a web-based database system that is used for compiling a high volume of DNA barcode data and identifying unknown biological specimens. With the KBOL system, users can not only link DNA barcodes and biological information but can also undertake conservation activities, including environmental management, monitoring, and detecting significant organisms.
Fire accidents in foreign countries, like the accident in a thermal power plant in Beijing, the accidents in domestic power plants, including Boryeong Power Plant in 2012 and Taean Power Plant in 2016, a disaster in a nuclear power plant in Fukushima in 2011 or the large-scale power failure in California in 2001 are safety accidents related to electric power, which caused losses in the people's stable lives and the countries. Electricity has an absolute impact on the people's life and the economy, so we can easily expect the serious situation affecting economic growth as well as direct damage to the protection of the people's lives and the losses of properties, if there are fire or explosion accidents or radioactive leak because of negligence in safety management, or problems because of natural disasters like an earthquake in power plants that generate electricity. In this study, it was drawn the improvement of the organizations exclusively in charge of firefighting, the operation of a program for the improvement of professional competency, the development of a customized firefighting management system for plants for systematic firefighting safety management and the improvement of the earthquake-proof correspondence system, which has recently become an issue, as measures for improvements through a survey of the actual conditions concerning the necessity of the construction of a firefighting safety management system for power plants with five power generation companies, including Korea Southern Power Co., Ltd., and the persons in charge of firefighting safety Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd.
