This study was performed to develop an active tire pressure control system that can adjust tire pressure to the optimum level according to traveling and working condition of agricultural tractor. For the development of active tire pressure control system, pneumatic supplier, solenoid valve block including pneumatic supply line, infinite rotation type pneumatic supplier with rotary joint unit, tire pressure transceiver module and control algorithm were developed. Also, tire simulator was developed. Using this tire simulator, the feasibility of each part constructing actual system was tested by checking the performance. The average communication success ratio was 98.3% between tire pressure transmitter and receiver module according to the various tire rotational speed and data receipt position of receiver module. The communication performance of the developed transmitter and receiver module was very stable in any condition. The tire pressure control system was accomplished by using the proportional control algorithm in this study. Also tire pressure control performance of developed control system was analyzed by using the tire simulator. As a result of control performance analysis to the developed system, the developed control system took 307 seconds to inflate agricultural tractor's tire from 50 kPa to 180 kPa. In opposite case, it took 210 seconds. Also it was able to control the tire pressure accurately under ${\pm}0.9%$ (FS) in any condition.

To cope with the explosive growth of traffic which is considered as one of the most biggest threat to current mobile communication systems, various solutions such as small cell and device-to-device communication have been exploited. Directional transmission in which transmission power of base station is focused onto the direction where the mobile station is located, can be used to increase throughput of the system. In this work, we develop a system-level simulator for cellular mobile communication systems using directional transmission and adaptive interference estimation scheme for directional transmission has been proposed. By using the developed simulator, the performance of cellular mobile communication systems with directional transmission is examined. Moreover, it is shown that the overall throughput of cellular system can be improved by utilizing directional transmission.

This paper studied about the design and implementation of tactical communication network simulator in order to obtain tactical communication network parameter, such as link capacity and routing plan, and a number of exceptional cases that may occur during actual deployment by conducting simulation of a large-scale tactical communication networks. This tactical communication network simulator provides equipment models and link models of commercial OPNET simulator for tactical communication network. In addition, 6 types of simulation scenario writings convenience functions and traffic generation models that may occur in situations of tactical communication network environment were implemented in order to enhance user friendliness. By taking advantages of SITL(System-In-The-Loop) function of OPNET, the tactical communication network simulator allows users to perform interoperability test between M&S models and actual equipment in operating simulation of tactical communication network, which is run on software. In order to confirm the functions and performance of the simulator, small-scale of tactical communication network was configured to make sure interoperability between SITL-based equipment and a large-scale tactical communication network was simulated and checked how to cope with traffic generated for each network node. As the results, we were able to confirm that the simulator is operated properly.
Control network adopted in the national power-plant or manufactory are mostly vendor-dependent products, which have their own special specification, components and individual communication methods. These systems not only raise installation cost, but also bring many difficulties to maintenance and extension. To overcome these problems, this paper introduces a development and application case of a new "PC/Ethernet-based fieldbus" architecture and protocol to be used in mid-level fieldbus. The designed system has a basic idea of "3 Layers fieldbus over Standard-LAN" and implemented on PCs. PC gives user friendly environment. By using an open standard Ethernet in layer 1,2, the system has low cost, wide communication bandwidth and high compatibility. Layer 3 protocol designed for large realtime data communication makes user bypass TCP/IP layer and gives user direct access to the Ethernet. This new protocol eliminates potential collision of Ethernet, and transmits large periodic/non-periodic control data by using long-frame/wide-bandwidth of Ethernet effectively, and offers simple API-Services to the upper layer. Since the system have installed in H-power plant simulator and U-nuclear power plant simulator in Korea, it have been proved to be efficient and stable without any trouble in realtime communication service for full-scope plant simulator that has a lot of control elements.

As the wireless communication technologies are being studied for application to maritime communication networks in a fusion of marine industries and IT technology, interference coordination techniques have been studied in the maritime heterogeneous networks. In this paper, we develop a simulator for measuring, verifying and evaluating performance of a maritime heterogeneous network. Unlike other previous simulators, the developed simulator applies enhanced inter-cell interference coordination (eICIC) that are being introduced in the 3GPP Release 10 for mitigating the cross-tier interference between ships. Furthermore, we investigate the effects of almost blank subframes (ABS) and cell range expansion (CRE) on the throughput of small cells in maritime heterogeneous networks by using the developed simulator.
In the sensor network, many tiny nodes construct Ad-Hoc network using wireless interface. As this type of system consists of thousands of nodes, managing each sensor node in real world after deploying them is very difficult. In order to install the sensor network successfully, it is necessary to verify its software using a simulator beforehand. In fact Sensor network simulators require high fidelity and timing accuracy to be used as a design, implementation, and evaluation tool of wireless sensor networks. Cycle-accurate, instruction-level simulation is the known solution for those purposes. In this paper, we developed an instruction-level sensor network simulator for Telos sensor node as named TeloSlM. It consists of MSP430 and CC2420. Recently, Telos is the most popular mote because MSP430 can consume the minimum energy in recent motes and CC2420 can support Zigbee. So that TeloSlM can provide the easy way for the developers to verify software. It is cycle-accurate in instruction-level simulator that is indispensable for OS and the specific functions and can simulate scalable sensor network at the same time. In addition, TeloSlM provides the GUI Tool to show result easily.

Software GNSS digitized IF signal simulator is being developed by ETRI as a part of development of software-based GNSS Test & evaluation Facility which will provide test and evaluation environment for various software level application and navigation algorithm in GNSS. Software GNSS IF signal simulator will provide digitized GNSS signal including GPS and Galileo. The requirement analysis and conceptual design for the Software GNSS IF signal simulator is presented in this paper.
It is possible but not efficient to model and simulate asynchronous microprocessors with the existing HDLs(HARDware Description Languages) such as VHDL or Verilog. The reason it that the description becomes too complex. and also the simulation time becomes too long to explore the design space. Therefore it is necessary to establish a methodology and develop a tool for modeling the handshake protocol of asynchronous microprocessors very easily and simulating it very fast. Under this objective an efficient CAD(Computer Aided Design) tool SLEDS(System Level Event-Driven Simulator) was developed which can evaluate performance of a processor through modeling with a simple description an simulating with event driven engine in the system level. The ultimate goal in the tool SLEDS is to fin the optimal conditions for a system to produce high performance by balancing the delay of each module in the system. Besides SLEDS aims at verifying the design through comparing the expected results with the actual ones by performing the defined behavior.

In this work, our goal is to develop a fast and accurate power model of the ARM926EJ-S processor in the industrial design environment. Compared with existing work on processor power modeling which focuses on the power states of processor core, our model mostly focuses on the cache power model. It gives more than 93% accuracy and 1600 times speedup compared with post-layout gate-level power estimation. We also address two practical issues in applying the processor power model to the real design environment. One is to incorporate the power model into an existing commercial instruction set simulator. The other is the re-characterization of power model parameters to cope with different gate-level netlists of the processor obtained from different design teams and different fabrication technology.
In this paper, we analyze the performance of the parity cache enabled RAID level-5 via the simulation. This RAID system consists of the DDR memory-based storage devices. To do this, we develop the simulation model and suggest the basic performance analysis data which we want to get via the simulation. And we implement the simulator based on the simulation model and execute the simulator. From the result of the simulation, we expect that the parity cache enabled RAID level-5 configured by the DDR memory based storage devices has the positive effectiveness to the enhancing of the storage system performance if the storage access patterns of applications are tuned.
