  • The author present a modified multi-loop algorithm including feedforward for controlling a 55kW step down chopper in the power supply of Maglev. The control law for the duty cycle consists of three terms. The first is the feedforward term which compensates for variations in the input voltage. The second term consists of the difference between the slowly moving inductor current and output current. The third term consists of proportional and integral terms involving the perturbation in the output voltage. This perturvation is derived by subtracting the desired output voltage from the actual output voltage. The proportional and integral action stabilizes the system and minimizes output voltage error. In order to verify the validity of the proposed multi-loop controller, simulation study was tried using Matlab simulink.

  • 본 논문에서는 양시등급 항공기 동력학에서 빠른 종속시스템의 극점들을 그대로 둔 채 느린 종속시스템의 극점만을 재배치함으로써 페루프의 근사치 해를 획득하는 방법이 제안되었다. 행렬대각화를 통하여 얻어지는 이러한 근사치 해는 수정된 것과 수정되지 않은 것 두 종류로 구분된다. 이들의 차이는 전자의 경우 오차가 $O({\varepsilon})$이며 후자의 경우는 오차가 $O({\varepsilon}^2)$이다. 두 가지 해는 모두 감소해이지만 충분한 견실성을 보여준다. 제안된 기법의 우수성은 항공기 종방향 운동 모델의 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인되었다.

  • 본 논문은 자기부상열차용 전원의 문제점을 개선시키기 위해서 다중루프 제어기를 제시하였다. 제시된 제어기는 3개의 부분으로 구성되어 있다. 첫 번째는 입력전압의 변동에 대하여 보상할 수 있는 Feed Forward제어기이며 두 번째는 리액터 전류와 출력 전류의 차를 보상하며, 세 번째는 비례적분제어기를 사용하여 출력전압에 포함된 리플을 감소시키므로써, 안정화된 시스템을 구현하였다. 이 시스템의 특성을 확인하기 위해서 Matlab Simulink와 고성능 DSP소자인 TMS320F240을 이용하여 비교 분석하였다.

Nonlinear static analysis of composite cylinders with metamaterial core layer, adjustable Poisson's ratio, and non-uniform thickness

  • In this article, an analytical procedure is presented for static analysis of composite cylinders with the geometrically nonlinear behavior, and non-uniform thickness profiles under different loading conditions by considering moderately large deformation. The composite cylinder includes two inner and outer isotropic layers and one honeycomb core layer with adjustable Poisson's ratio. The Mirsky-Herman theory in conjunction with the von-Karman nonlinear theory is employed to extract the governing equations which are a system of nonlinear differential equations with variable coefficients. The governing equations are solved analytically using the matched asymptotic expansion (MAE) method of the perturbation technique and the effects of moderately large deformations are studied. The presented method obtains the results with fast convergence and high accuracy even in the regions near the boundaries. Highlights: • An analytical procedure based on the matched asymptotic expansion method is proposed for the static nonlinear analysis of composite cylindrical shells with a honeycomb core layer and non-uniform thickness. • The effect of moderately large deformation has been considered in the kinematic relations by assuming the nonlinear von Karman theory. • By conducting a parametric study, the effect of the honeycomb structure on the results is studied. • By adjusting the Poisson ratio, the effect of auxetic behavior on the nonlinear results is investigated.

용탕유동과 응고를 고려한 주조공정의 유한요소해석 (Finite element analysis of casting processes considering molten-metal flow and solidification)

  • Finite element analysis tool was developed to analyze the casting process. Generally, casting process consists of mold filling and solidification. Both filling and solidication process were simulated simultaneously to investigate the effects of process variables and to predict the defect. At filling process, thermal coupling was especially considered to investigate thermal history of material during the filling stage. And thermal condition at the final stage of filling is used as the initial conditions in a solidification process for the exact simullation of the actual casting processes. At mold filling process, Lagragian-type finite element method with automatic remeshing scheme was used to find the material flow. A perturbation method with artificial viscosity is adopted to avoid numerical instability in low viscous fluid. At solidification process, enthalpy-based finite element method was used to solove the heat transfer problem with phase change. And elastic stress analysis has been performed to predict the thermal residual stress. Through the FE analysis, solidification time, position of solidus line, liquidus line and thermal residual stress are found. Through the study, the importance of combined analysis has been emphasized. Finite element tools developed in this study will be used process design of casting process and may be basic structure for total CAE system of castings which will be constructed afterward.

Stability and nonlinear vibration of a fuel rod in axial flow with geometric nonlinearity and thermal expansion

  • The vibration of fuel rods in axial flow is a universally recognized issue within both engineering and academic communities due to its significant importance in ensuring structural safety. This paper aims to thoroughly investigate the stability and nonlinear vibration of a fuel rod subjected to axial flow in a newly designed high temperature gas cooled reactor. Considering the possible presence of thermal expansion and large deformation in practical scenarios, the thermal effect and geometric nonlinearity are modeled using the von Karman equation. By applying Hamilton's principle, we derive the comprehensive governing equation for this fluid-structure interaction system, which incorporates the quadratic nonlinear stiffness. To establish a connection between the fluid and structure aspects, we utilize the Galerkin method to solve the perturbation potential function, while employing mode expansion techniques associated with the structural analysis. Following convergence and validation analyses, we examine the stability of the structure under various conditions in detail, and also investigate the bifurcation behavior concerning the buckling amplitude and flow velocity. The findings from this research enhance the understanding of the underlying physics governing fuel rod behavior in axial flow under severe yet practical conditions, while providing valuable guidance for reactor design.

방사개구면에 역 L형 기생소자를 세운 GPS용 이중대역 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계 (A Design of Dual-band Microstrip Antenna Loading Inverted-L-shaped Parasitic Elements Vertically at Radiation Apertures for GPS Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나의 방사개구면에 역 L형 기생소자를 수직으로 세운 이중대역 마이크로스트립 안테나를 설계 및 제작하였다. 제안된 안테나는 GPS $L_1(1.575 GHz)$$L_2(1.227 GHz)$ 대역을 수용하도록 설계하였다. 먼저, GPS $L_1$ 대역은 반파장 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나를 이용하여 수용하였고, 섭동법을 이용하기 위해 방사개구면에 수직으로 세워 역 L형 기생소자를 패치안테나와 커플링시켜 공진시킴으로써 GPS $L_2$ 대역을 수용하였다. 다음으로 두 대역에서 모두 원형편파를 발생시키기 위해서 급전점 반대편 방사개구면에 각각의 편파에 해당하는 방사개구면에 역 L형 기생소자를 각각 세웠고, 패치 안테나의 급전점을 대각선으로 옮겨 이중대역 원형편파 마이크로스트립 안테나를 설계하였다. 이렇게 설계된 원형편파 안테나의 크기는 $88.5{\times}79{\times}10.4mm^3$ ($0.36{\lambda}_L{\times}0.32{\lambda}_L{\times}0.04{\lambda}_L$, ${\lambda}_L$은 1.227 GHz의 공기 중 파장)의 크기를 가지며, 단층으로 저자세를 유지한다. -10 dB 대역폭은 GPS $L_1$대역에서 116.3 MHz(7.4%), GPS $L_2$대역 64.3 MHz(5.2%)로 측정되어 GPS $L_1$$L_2$ 대역의 요구대역폭(각각 24 MHz)을 만족하였다. 3 dB 축비 대역폭은 11.7 MHz(0.74%)와 14 MHz(1.14%)로 각각 측정되었으며, 방사패턴은 두 대역에서 모두 브로드 사이드 방사패턴을 형성하였다.

인지부하의 정도에 따른 뇌신경생리학적 변화 (Changes in Electrophysiological Activation Due to Different Levels of Cognitive Load)

  • Purpose: For now, cognitive load is assessed based on survey-based methods, which can be difficult to track the amount of cognitive load in real-time. In this study, we investigated the difference in electrophysiological activation due to different levels of cognitive load not only at sensor-level but also at source-level using electroencephalogram that might be potentially used for quantitative cognitive load evaluation. Materials and Methods: In this study, ten healthy subjects (mean age 24.3 ± 2.1, three female) participated the experiment. All participants performed 4 sessions of n-back task in different difficulties: 0-, 1-, 2-, and 3-back during electroencephalogram recording. For sensor-level analysis, we calculated the event-related potential and event-related spectral perturbation while low resolution brain electromagnetic tomography (LORETA) to estimate the source activation. Each result was compared between different workload conditions using statistical analysis. Results: Statistical results revealed that the accuracy of the task performance was significantly different between different cognitive loads (p = 0.018). The post-hoc analysis confirmed that the accuracy of the 3-back task was significantly decreased compared to 1-back condition (p = 0.018), but not with 2-back condition (p = 0.180). ERP results showed that P300 target amplitude between 1-back and 3-back had a marginal difference in Cz (p = 0.059) and Pz(p = 0.093). A significant inhibition in Cz high-beta activation (p = 0.017) and decrease in source activation of right parahippocampal gyrus was found in 3-back condition compared to 1-back condition (p < 0.05). Conclusion: In this study, we compared the sensor- and source-level differences in electroencephalogram between different levels of cognitive load, that were found to be in line with the previous reports related to cognitive load evaluation. We expect that the outcome of the current study can be used as a feature to establish a quantitative cognitive load assessment system.

  • 본 논문에서는 혼합감도문제를 이용하여 강인한 서보계를 구성함으로서 동위치 제어 시스템의 제어계를 설계하는 방법을 제안하였고, LQG를 이용한 다변수 디지털 서보 제어기 및 H$\infty$ 최적 제어기와의 비교실험을 통하여 제안된 제어기의 유용성을 입증하였다.
