PLM 시스템 활용도 향상 방안의 중요도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Importance of Measures for Improving PLM System Usage)

  • Purpose This paper attempts to identify items for improving the usage of PLM(Product Lifecycle Management) systems and suggests ways to prioritize improvement items on the basis of importance. It also tries to find out differences in the importance of improvement items due to the company size, the industry, the job, or the PLM solution. Design/methodology/approach Through a survey from participants to a PLM System Conference, data were collected from a sample of 181 users who had the previous experience in using a PLM system. In order to figure out the differences in the importance among user groups, the F-test with the Scheffe test as a post-hoc analysis was used in case of equal variances and the Welch test with the Dunnett T3 test was used in case of unequal variances. Findings This study sorted out 25 improvement ideas according to their importance assessed by the PLM system users. The top five ideas are improving data consistency, error minimization, fast system response time, enhancing user recognition, and business process improvement. The support group puts higher importance than the general user group in data consistency, fast system response time, enhancing user recognition, business process improvement, dedicated team for data consistency, continuous support from management, hardware performance upgrade, output linkage to other systems, and shortening problem solving duration. The largest company group attaches significantly higher weights than the smallest company group to data consistency, error minimization, fast system response time, business process improvement, dedicated team for data consistency, security with proper access management, output linkage to other systems, and better user interface.

연구 수명주기 기반 대학도서관 연구지원서비스 모형 개발 연구 (A Study on the Development of the Research Support Service Model of the University Library based on the Research Life Cycle)

  • 본 연구는 변화하는 연구 환경을 대비하고 연구의 전 과정을 체계적으로 지원하기 위해 '연구 수명주기(research lifecycle)'를 기반으로 대학도서관 연구지원서비스 모형을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 먼저 문헌고찰과 서비스 수요자 대상 설문조사를 통해 연구의 각 단계에서 지원해야 할 연구지원서비스의 요소를 구성하였다. 다음으로 효과적인 서비스 운영을 위해 서비스 제공자를 대상으로 설문조사와 심층면담을 실시하였다. 그 결과 20개 핵심 요소를 포함한 6단계의 50개 요소로 구성된 '연구지원서비스 요소 모형'과 정부 및 유관기관, 대학도서관, 대학 내 기관 간 유기적인 체계로 구성된 '연구지원서비스 운영 체계 모형'을 제안하였다.

  • 건축물 수명주기 동안 생성되는 정보를 통합관리하고 재활용하여 경제적 손실을 줄이고 이윤을 극대화하려는 과정을 Building Information Modeling (BIM)이라고 한다. 기존의 건설관리기법들과 비교하여 양질의 건물을 더 싸게 빠르게 지으려고 한다는 점에서 그 궁극적인 목적이 다르지 않지만, 기존의 기법들이 경영관리기법적인 측면에서 접근하였다면, BIM은 시스템적인 면에서 접근을 하고 있다는 데에 그 차이점이 있다. 본 논문은 BIM의 정의와 배경에 대해서 고찰하고, BIM을 위하여 필요한 핵심기술들의 현재와 미래에 대하여 논의하였다.

  • Players of construction projects proceed with each work process by information gathering, modification and communication. Due to the complex and long-span lifecycle projects increased, it became more important to grasp this mechanism for the successful project performance in construction project. Hence, most project information management systems or knowledge management systems equip information retrieval system. There are two logic to infer the meaning of retrieval target; inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning. The former is based on metadata explaining the target and the later is based on relation between data. To infer the information flow, it is necessary to define the correlation between players and work processes. However, most established information retrieval systems are based on index search system and it is not focused on correlation between data but data itself. Thus, this research aims to research on process of information flow retrieval system for large-scale construction projects.

  • The concept of integrated product information has been universalized so that many manufacturing industries have applied the concept to their production system. The field of PDM (Product Data Management), which is one of the core components of the integrated product information, is not an exception. Therefore, various PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software providers are in process of suggesting the PDM solutions. As the PDM solution is widely adopted in the manufacturing industries, the successful application of the solution has been gathering more strength in manipulation of the product information. However, the standardized implementation methodology is stuck in the basic level contrast with the enhanced PDM's functionality and capability. Present study refers to the application of UML (Unified Modeling Language), which is an object oriented modeling description, to PDM system development procedure. The advantage of UML is its efficiency and effectiveness in handling complex requirement often found in PDM implementation works. This paper shows the integration of PDM and UML proposes a philosophy for the support of requirement analysis throughout the full implementation of PDM system.

  • For the effective and efficient system development, it is provided of complex and diverse disciplines, analysis and design, points of views for decisions making, technical information management, assurance of products, and so on to be integrated and ensured. Systems engineering is conducted through a process and is implemented by tools based on relevant methodologies. Systems engineering environment should be provided to support the systems engineering process, method, and tools used on the project. In this paper, the essential environment in performing works in a organization applying systems engineering on the basis of system life cycle was reviewed. The present states on establishment of the systems engineering in Korea Railroad Research Institute were also examined with some reviews of other cases.

  • The systems engineering (SE) process shall be applied to the project for successful development of ultra-high-speed (UHS) Maglev train system which is one of very large and complex systems. It is important to abolish technology differentials from the advanced developers such as Germany, Japan, etc. and to ensure discriminatory competitiveness of the application of systems engineering process for the development of the system based on appropriate concepts and requirements. General operation concept and stakeholder's requirements of UHS Maglev train system must be elicited with system concept for initiating the project. The management plan should be devised for all sorts of systems engineering activities of risk management, performance management, lifecycle cost management, etc. This paper would support to establish the systems engineering management plan (SEMP) for the program of UHS Maglev train system development with associated documents.

  • In these days, automotive companies are trying to develop new manufacturing technologies and paradigms for rapid product development and production. The press die development process account for 40% of entire vehicle development process, and tryout process usually takes 3 to 4 months, and it is the biggest time portion out of dies manufacturing. Therefore, the effective tryout management system is essential to reduce time and cost of automotive press die production. This paper suggests improved process and practical application of tryout management using ubiquitous technology, and shows the results such as shorten time, improved quality and supporting of lifecycle engineering of press die.

  • In order to develop VirtuAlmighty system, CPDM (construction project data management) and CPLM (construction project lifecycle management) model must be settled beforehand. Because most of information systems based on 3D-Design have its own database and business process. So, our team will develop collaboration management architecture of construction process for Decision Support based on PLM (Project Life-cycle Management). This architecture with business processes and Database can be used in process develop, process monitoring with many stakeholders of project, process change management, and so on.

  • To achieve rapid developments and ensure competitiveness, cost saving, digital manufacturing is essential in die shops. Digital Manufacturing is a technology to facilitate effective product developments and agile productions by digital environments representing the physical and logical schema and the behavior of real manufacturing system including manufacturing resources, processes and products. For applying digital manufacturing to die shop, engineering information managements of products, manufacturing process and resources are needed. In this paper proposes and implements, PLM approach for achieving engineering collaborations in engineering activities. We suggest detail procedures, some examples and considerations of PPR managements in die shop.
