부하테스트를 이용한 금융 시스템의 성능개선 사례 (A Case Study for Improving Performance of A Banking System Using Load Test)

  • In this paper, we describe a case study to improve performance through the load testing of multi-tired system for financial accounts before the system opening. The load test was conducted after the data collection tools(Performance Monitor, DB PSSDiag) were installed. By analyzing the collected log, we were able to identify the main sector requiring performance improvements among the presentation tier, web tier, business logic tier and data tier. The ASP.NET server-down on the web tier could be improved by modifying the parameter values in the configuration file. Some server downs occurred on the business logic tier when a large number of users access at the same time, were more difficult to be solved. By analyzing the hang-dump at the server-down time, we were able to find a process that caused the problem. and we had to modify the relevant codes. For major performance improvements of the data-tier, indices of some queries was optimized by using the built-in DBMS query analyzer, after analyzing the log of long-response-time queries. The problems and solutions considered in this case study will be a reference for the performance improvement of a multi-layer system with the similar structure.

  • 하이브리드 자동차는 전기방식 회생제동을 이용하여 연비가 우수하다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 공압식 회생제동 장치를 소개하였다. 공압식 회생제동장치는 압축과 팽창기능을 동시에 가지는 스크롤 기구를 이용한다. 차량 감속시에는 스크롤 기기는 압축기로 작동되면서 대기중의 공기를 압축하여 압축탱크에 저장한 후 차량 가속시에는 스크롤기구가 팽창기로 작동되면서 탱크에 저장된 압축공기가 차량 운동에너지로 활용된다. 회생제동장치를 사용함으로써 개선되는 연비를 분석하기 위해, CVS-75 모드 주행조건에서 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

  • OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)신호는 독립적으로 변조된 다수의 부반송파들이 동위상으로 더해질 경우 신호의 크기가 크게 발생하여 PAPR(Peak-to-Average Power Ratio)이 크게 나타난다. PAPR이 커지면 시스템의 복잡도가 증가하고 RF 전력증폭기의 효율이 감소하므로 시스템의 성능 열화의 요인이 된다. 본 논문에서는, 기존의 OFDM 시스템의 BER 성능과 PAPR 특성을 개선하기위하여 페이딩 특성에 강인한 효과를 나타내는 원형편파와 반송파 간섭신호를 시스템에 함께 적용하여 컴퓨터 모의실험으로 그 성능을 평가하였다. 그 결과 시스템 BER 특성이 $2{\sim}3$[dB] 정도의 개선효과가 있었으며 PAPR특성도 크게 감소시킬 수 있음을 알 수가 있었다.

  • 최근 차량의 증가와 주차공간의 부족으로 주차를 이용한 사업이 늘어나고 있다. 주차사업에서 주차관제가 필수적인 요소가 되고 있고, 주차관제업체가 점점 늘어나는 계기가 되었다. 그러나 업체수가 점점 늘어나고 경쟁이 치열해 짐에 따라, 새로운 서비스를 창출하거나, 기술적 우수성을 가지거나, 현재 시스템 개선을 통해서 비용을 절감하려는 노력이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 효과적인 주차산업을 위한 클라우드 기반의 자동차번호인식(LPR) 서비스를 이용한 주차관제시스템을 구현하였다. 제안하는 시스템은 구조적인 개선을 통해 비용을 절감하고, 설치를 간소화 하며, 장애나 업데이트시 빠르게 대응 가능하다.

64QAM SOFM 전처리기를 이용한 와이브로 시스템의 성능 개선 (Performance Improvements of WiBro System Using the 64QAM SOFM Prefiltering)

  • 와이브로는 OFDMA/TDD 기술을 기반으로하는 고속 이동 인터넷 표준이고, IEEE802.16e 무선 MAN 표준 통합 버전의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 64QAM SOFM 전처리기를 이용한 와이브로 시스템의 성능 개선을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법은 Broadband 64 QAM 와이브로 시스템 수신단에 전처리 SOFM 신경망 자력등화를 사용한다. 전처리 SOFM 신경망은 송신 데이터 형태인 64QAM을 형상화 하고 자력등화는 ICI를 제거한다. 제안한 방법의 유용성을 확인하기 위하여 MSE와 BER에 대하여 시뮬레이션 하였으며, 시뮬레이션 결과 제안한 64QAM SOFM 전처리기를 이용한 와이브로 시스템은 기존의 와이브로 시스템보다 성능이 개선되었음을 확인하였다.

Evaluation System for Selecting Residents of Supportive Housing in Seoul

  • Purpose: This study aims to improve the evaluation system for selecting supportive housing applicants, addressing inconsistency, lack of health and care evaluation, and the need for a quantitative evaluation tool. Proposed improvements include a consistent evaluation index and items for each resident type, selecting suitable residents for independent living and community integration. Research design, data and methodology: This study analyzed the supportive housing selection checklist provided by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the supportive housing ordinance, and the SH Corporation's operation guidelines. Results: Study finds current supportive housing tenant selection system lacks consistency and proposes improvements. The same terms should be used for the same evaluation items, health and care evaluation items should be added for all tenants, and a quantitative evaluation tool should be used. Consistent evaluation index and items should be created for each resident type in the same evaluation area. The aim is to select suitable tenants with potential for independent living and community integration. Conclusions: This study improves the evaluation system for selecting supportive housing applicants by addressing inconsistencies and adding essential evaluation items related to health and care. While the study is significant, future research should focus on developing quantitative evaluation tools for all detailed items.

  • The Advanced Power Reactor 1400 (APR1400) is an evolutionary advanced light water reactor (ALWR) based on the Optimized Power Reactor 1000 (OPR1000), which is in operation in Korea. The APR1400 incorporates a variety of engineering improvements and operational experience to enhance safety, economics, and reliability. The advanced design features and improvements of the APR1400 design include a pilot operated safety relief valve (POSRV), a four-train safety injection system with direct vessel injection (DVI), a fluidic device (FD) in the safety injection tank, an in-containment refueling water storage tank (IRWST), an external reactor vessel cooling system, and an integrated head assembly (IHA). Development of the APR1400 started in 1992 and continued for ten years. The APR1400 design received design certification from the Korean nuclear regulatory body in May of2002. Currently, two construction projects for the APR1400 are in progress in Korea.

  • This paper proposes a method of solving a unit commitment problem using parallel tabu search (PTS). The TS is efficient optimization method using meta-heuristic. In this paper, to reduce the computation time for evaluating the neighborhoods, an evaluating method only on changed part and a path relinking method as diversification strategy are proposed. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, we simulated for 10 units system and 110 units system. Numerical results show improvements in the generation costs and the computation time compared with conventional methods. Numerical results show improvements in the generation cost and the computation time compared to previously obtained results.

  • The Design Protection Act of Korea classifies industrial designs into examined-based and unexamined-based articles. For design application and registration under the DPA, applicable product for the design needs to be chosen in order for it to be registered. Clothing and personal belongings under class B in the classification list are subject to unexamined-based articles. A sound and logical classification system will lead to higher administrative efficiency as well as assurance of more convenience for the system users. This paper examines the suitability of the design classification for clothing and personal belongings and purposes to suggest improvements.

  • In an integrated steel mill, zinc (Zn) inputs from raw materials and steel scrap are enriched in the dusts and sludges collected from gas and water cleaning systems. The reuse of these dusts and sludges must be controlled within certain limit to avoid Zn accumulation and related operational problems in blast furnace. An integrated system has been established at China Steel Corporation (CSC) to enhance the internal reuse of Zn-containing dust/sludge while keeping Zn input within control lim it. However. the performance of this system has not been very satisfactory until one and half years ago when a rationalization process was initiated. The essence of this rationalization process, the recent improvements in Zn control and dust and sludge reuse are reported and discussed.
