This study particularly looked at educational philosophy and content of Design Academy Eindhoven in Holland which provides multidisciplinary design education. For it might be important data for examining the educational substance and directivity in design that help construct education system in design for a new era among the varying design paradigm. The biggest feature of DAE education system designed for students to optimize their ability with systematic education of 8 contexts with 4 approaches through innovative specialty system. Besides, their interaction helps students major in what is individual specialty. Most of all, the study on the contents of DAE's multidisciplinary education is expected to be significant data for our design education that lacks integrative perspective in the respect that students might be able to develop their identity as an individual designer in changing society beyond the mere technical and formative level of design.

This paper reviews a new kitchen space by analyzing the user life style and their house environment where ubiquitous system is considered. The kitchen space where ubiquitous system is applied was differ in their house atmosphere and the role of kitchen area. Those changes under ubiquitous system has the kitchen becomes the central space of the house and the furnishings including home appliances and furnitures. This furniture and built-in machine will get a communication ability with user in the living and kitchen space. And it will include a high technology like as RFID, home network and so on.

As the demand of wood furniture becomes diverse and large-sized, artificial intelligence technique is required to design the expert system which can promote the efficiency of the operations management in wood furniture industry. This study was carried out to develop the expert scheduler, which was applied to the scheduling in chair-manufacturing process to evaluate its validity. The expert scheduler could show the results of scheduling must faster than Gantt chart method with ease. Maximum tardiness in the current chair-manufacturing process could be reduced from 29 seconds to 5 seconds by the addition of a spindle sander, a 12 spindle universal boring machine, and a moulding sander to sanding, boring, and moulding process, respectively.

This study purpose is to design the stand-hangers that can be fabricated conveniently and effectly for manufacture and the market situation of Piwoori Furniture. The study scope is from the research to design prototype in a design process. This study explored the development of knock-down hanger which can be easily assembled and be newly oriented to hanger style. The hangers were made into two main parts with lower part composed as legs, drawers, and containers, and with lower part composed as a shelf and hanger-bear As they are emphasized by the function and usefulness, small sized clothing, underwear, and socks can be stored, and a lot of pants and jackets can be hanged by adjusting the height Therefore, it is not difficult for them to be packed, stored, and transported by being easily assembled and disassembled from the adaption of the knock-down system. Furthermore, the hangers made of the natural wood show the quality of texture and appearance.

For the two decades, the modern furniture design has pursued a variety of conceptions characterized by the Post-modernism, new international styles called Memphism, High-tech, the Post-Industrial design and Deconstruction. Along with these trends, the development of new materials and technology has not only made possible the emergence of innovative furnitures and other ultra-modern products, but also presented a wide range of sensitive designs. The fast development of digital technology will surely bring about globalization in all industrial fields in the next century. Amid this rapid changes, high-tech will merge with handcraft in the area of furniture design to offer economical and more innovative concepts. This will ultimately lead to the small scale production system of a wide variety of furnitures. In the coming century, we can pursue more individualized designs and concepts appealing to human nature.

The professional alliance between disciplines of architecture and furniture design in the interwar years as displayed in the prominent architectural exhibitions of the era is interesting in the context of professionalization of American architecture. The way furniture design gradually became part of the architectural shows not only reflected but provided the practical field in which the architectural institution sought, under the new social order since the mid 1910s, a new professional cast-departing from the former milieu in the realm of high-art by the Beaux-Arts Movement. Exhibitions held by the Architectural League of New York in the 1920s revealed that the early impetus for reformation toward efficiency had been subsumed by the system of Beaux-Arts. By contrast, "The Architect and the Industrial Arts" show of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in which the most prominent architects of the era exercised their professional expertise in the design of "Moderne Style" interior furnishings, clearly shows how architects, in the milieu of expanding commercial market, sought to align their profession as industrial designers.

The aim of this study is to develop and suggest the handle for lockers according to the design process which are used for keeping of student's personal stuffs such as books, writing implements and gym uniform in elementary, middle and high school and university as well. This includes the design development for ILGUMTUR which is specialized for office furniture, but does not own the intellectual property right yet. The design concept based on the domestic locker market survey is recessed handle at low- to intermediate price and it's material should be plastic what is solid and light. The lock system should be constructed by molding process and the name plate can be exchanged every time the owner of locker changes. Contrary to the right angle of it's external appearance, the handle of the locker is designed to be softly round and the simplicity is pursued for an easy production. On the basis of this design concept the sketch has been drawn and upgraded in full by 3D-rendering. Then the mock-up has been completed by 3D printer and ILGUMTUR has obtained a patent for the locking system based on the rotation of 2 circles.

Recently, as the continuously increasing of the one-person households, builders were focusing on a built-in furniture development for efficiency. Through the dead space of the space can be reduced. Also, Condensation that occurs in a built-in furnitures installation space may result in different results depending on the room's direction, floor, finish, adjacent room effect, occupant's lifestyle. In this background, it can be considered in terms of functional aspect and morphological aspect by using WUFI2D simulation system. As a result, the tendency of occurrence of condensation was examined by comparing the water content and the growth potential of fungus graph which came from WUFI2D. Results of this study are as followings: Built-in furniture, both top & bottom open, is more stable to condensation than the built-in furniture with the top or bottom open. Also, Among from the top floor built-in furniture to the bottom of it, the bottom one is more stable to condensation.

The main scope of this study is to define such system of space composition factor to diversify the interior space of the apartment housing. Staring from the space analysis, identification of the design factors, characters of the anthropometry for the dwelling behavior, and analyzed dimensions of the interior furniture from the market data have uniformly integrated to engage with such system for innovation and diversification of the space design method. X-axis is stands for horizontal length of the factor, Y-axis is for the space depth, and lastly, Z-axis is for the hieghts of the space based on anthropometris.

This was a systemized bed consisted of storage units, a desk, a drawer, a sofa and a shelf. This bed system was not designed only for a certain age group of children but also for various age groups of children, since each parts of the bed can be sued separately. Separation of parts of the bed allowed children to decorate their own living space and gives them a chance to express their own feeling and thoughts by layout of parts. Design adopts the beauty of nature such as smoothly curve lines which are perfectly fit for the children's living space. The moving sofa located under the bed and the book shelf lead children to establish a pattern of reading habit. The draw and storage units offer nice space for keeping children's goods.
