  • Piezoelectric elements are one of good candidates able to replace motors in various electronics devices. It is slim and compact and low power consumption compare to motors. Linear regulator or class-D amplifier are generally used for piezoelectric element driver, however, suffers from severe power consumption. In this paper, electrical modeling of piezoelectric element will be presented and switching losses on the driver due to the parasitic capacitance will be analyzed. And new ZVS full bridge converter with an inductor will be proposed so as to reduce the power losses.

A Study on the Optimization of a Renewable Energy System in Fire Station Buildings (소방서건물의 신재생에너지시스템 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • This study set out to evaluate the economy, environmentality, and complexity (economy+environmentality) of fire station buildings of public service facilities and propose ways to apply the optimization of renewable energy system to fire station buildings. As for economy according to life cycle costs, economy increased when the application percentage of the geothermal and solar heat system increased over the three renewable energy system types (geothermal, solar heat, and solar photovoltaic). On the other hand, economy decreased when the application percentage of the solar photovoltaic system increased. As for environmentality according to tons of carbon dioxide, environmentality decreased when the application percentage of the geothermal and solar heat system increased. Environmentality increased when the application percentage of the solar photovoltaic system increased. As for complexity (economy+environmentality) according to the weighted coefficient method, complexity increased when the application percentage of the geothermal system increased. It was highest at the combination of the solar heat system (20%) and geothermal system (80%). On the other hand, complexity decreased when the application percentage of the solar photovoltaic system increased. It was lowest at the combination of the solar photovoltaic system (80%) and geothermal system (20%).

  • Computer는 발명되서부터 매년 응용분야가 넓어지고 있다. 현재에는 情 報處理라는 말그대로 어떠한 형태이든가의 복잡하고 다량의 情報가 存在하는 곳 에는 computer를 導入할려고 하든가, 또는 導入이 끝난 곳에서는 보다 큰 大規模 의 system으로 擴張하려고 하는 생각들을 보통 가지고 있다. 이러한 요구에 응하 여 왔던 것이 hardware, oprating system, 그리고 application software이다. 그중 hardware나 operating system은 多小 變化하여 왔지만은, 方式的으로는 application의 특성에 의한 요구에는 별로 틀린것이 없이 대개 같은 종류의 것이 쓰여왔다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 무수히 變하는 application의 複雜한 論理를 實現 하는 것은, 그 책임이 application software 개발자에 걸려있다. 그러므로 이러한 것들은 개발자(designer, programmer) 들의 개인의 기술과 努力에 달렸다고 말할 수 있다.

  • This paper considers the application of Fuzzy Logic to Smart Decision process of Smart Sensor system that interprets and response to the change of environmental parameters. The considered system consists of three sensors: temperature sensor, humidity sensor and pressure sensor. The smartness of system is constituted by the applying of Fuzzy Logic. The paper discusses the technical details of the application of Fuzzy Logic for making the system to be smarter.

  • Recently with the rapid development in mobile communication, the mobile phone are utilized in many fields of railway system within country and abroad and its use tends to increase continuously. In the railway system, the applicable realm is spreaded to the fields of railway signal communication, railway operating, track maintenance, reservation and information service, also its role is expected to increase. In this thesis, we are surveying the usage application of home and abroad mobile phone in railway system. Studying the present condition of mobile communication in railway system, we are viewing the application plan and the direction of development.

  • Future sub-meter resolution LEO missions require simultaneous dual-polarization downlink and/or multiple channel downlinks in single polarization. Especially, dual-polarization is needed to cope with bandwidth limitation due to high speed data transmission. Current KARI 13m X-Band antenna system needs to be upgraded to cope with such downlink schemes. This paper describes brief discussions on engineering work regarding how to meet the new requirements with minimum impact on current system as well as C&M (Control and Monitoring) software.

Effect of Changes in Nursing Delivery System on Satisfaction of Nurses and Patients and Direct Nursing Time (간호전달체계의 변화가 간호사 직무만족도와 환자만족도 및 직접간호시간에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: Purpose of this research was to identify effects of application of a modified primary nursing system. Methods: Measurement was done of direct nursing time and satisfaction of nurses and patients before and after one month of the modified primary nursing system in a surgery unit in C university hospital, Seoul. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between average for patient satisfaction (4.24) before and (4.11) after application of the modified primary nursing system. Total average for nurse satisfaction with the nursing delivery system was 2.89 before application and, 3.34 after, indicating some significant differences (t=-4.06, p<.001). The KPCS-1 was 10.19 before application of the modified primary nursing system and 9.52 after application. Recalculated into direct nursing time, the average direct nursing time for one patient was 92 minutes before application, and 85.98 minutes after, indicating no significant difference. Conclusion: Through this research an attempt was made to build and test a modified primary nursing system. Results indicate that the most important thing is to clearly regulate office work and safely implement the new system.

Application of Consignment to Three Stage Supply Chain

  • Purpose - The study investigates the impact of consignment on the economic performance in the supply chain with three stages. Through the analysis on distinct forms of consignment application, this study intends to answer to the question of how the consignment should be used in the multi-stage supply chain. Research design, data, and methodology - The proposed mathematical model represents the supply chain system with a manufacturer, a wholesaler, and a retailer. Three different forms of consignment application are considered depending on which stages adapt the consignment, and their system profits are compared with the traditional non-consignment system in numerical examples. Results - The numerical examples show that the serial consignment application performs better than any other forms of consignment as well as the non-consignment system. The additional analysis indicates that the system profit is significantly sensitive to the consignment rate. Conclusions - The outcome of this study implies the potential of consignment to improve the system performance even in the multi-stage supply chain system. Meanwhile, each supply chain member's preference to the specific form of consignment application could be different depending on which stage he has. All the supply chain members should jointly determine the appropriate consignment rates to obtain the best system performance.

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the propriety of the Biotope Area Factor's(BAF) application and propose an improvement plan. The BAP system, initially started by Seoul metropolitan city, is being settled in Korea. The BAF originated from the Biotop $Fl{\ddot{a}}chen$ Faktor(BFF) system of Berlin Germany. It was established as part of the Landscape Plan for the ecological function recovery in the high density built-up area with a sense of environmentally friendly urban management. The study compared the BAF's present condition of Ganddong-Gu, Seoul with Seoul's BAF system. Some problems appeared from the system application. Firstly, it may cause ecological damage if the site ranges are more than current BAF system limits. Secondly, the application of the current BAF system has the possibility of general redevelopment, but the partial improvement considering current standards of the high density built-up area's paving section is impossible. Lastly, division of the application object and application type are not divided well. In addition, the Seoul BAF which is currently applied across the board is based on the destruction of the natural area and low density built-up area. Accordingly, to improve these problems requires a complementary system protecting the ecological function prior to the application of the BAF and with restricted application to high density of BAF system built-up area.
