  • Control algorithm for remote transmission processing system for ECG signals is proposed. Software for the system hardware consists of system control algorithm and signal processing algorithm. Since signal processing algorithm is now under developing, this paper describes the details of system control only.

  • The fault detection and diagnosis technology may be applied in order to decrease the energy consumption and the maintenance cost of the air-conditioning system. To detect partial faults of the air-conditioning system, a neural network algorithm may be used. In this study, the neural network algorithm using normalized input data by the standard deviation was applied. And the [7$\times$10$\times$10$\times$1] neural network structure was selected. Test results showed that the neural network algorithm using normalized input data was very effective to detect the condenser fouling and the evaporator fan fault of an air-conditioning system.

  • This paper describes a Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system based on the radar driven fusion with camera. The objective of FCW system is to provide an appropriate alert with satisfying the evaluation scenarios of US-NCAP and a driver acceptance. For this purpose, this paper proposed a data fusion algorithm and a collision warning algorithm. The data fusion algorithm generates information of fusion target depending on the confidence of camera sensor. The collision warning algorithm calculates indexes and determines an appropriate alert-timing by using analysis results of manual driving data. The FCW system with the proposed data fusion and collision warning algorithm was investigated via scenarios of US-NCAP and a real-road driving. It is shown that the proposed FCW system can improve the accuracy of an alarm-timing and reduce the false alarm in real roads.

  • The autonomous microgrid is a system that is autonomously operated depending on the grid and internal load condition, without the operator's intervention. In this study, a control algorithm for the microsource and an operation algorithm for the microgrid are proposed to realize the autonomous microgrid system. In addition, a microgrid operation system based on the operation algorithm is proposed. The electromagnetic transient program is used by the proposed microsource control algorithm for simulation, and the validity of the algorithm is verified. The proposed operation system is verified based on a case study using a simulator and test devices.

  • This paper presents an application of Differential Search (DS) meta-heuristic optimization algorithm for optimal operation of micro grid system. DS algorithm has the benefit of high convergence rate and precision compared to other optimization methods. The micro grid system consists of a wind turbine, a diesel generator, and a fuel cell. The simulation is applied to micro grid system only. The wind turbine generator is modeled by considering the characteristics of variable output. One day load data which is divided every 20 minute and wind resource for wind turbine generator are used for the study. The method using the proposed DS algorithm is easy to implement, and the results of the convergence performance are better than other optimization algorithms.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm which reduces transportation cost while goods are delivered in time in a logistics system. The logistics system assumed in this paper is the system in which multiple cars moves various goods from spatially distributed warehouses to stores. For reducing transportation cost, the car assignment algorithm which allocates goods to minimal cars employs the BF method; routing of each car is modelled as the TSP and is solved by using the genetic algorithm. For evaluating the proposed algorithm, the logistics system is modelled and simulated by using the DEVS formalism. The DEVS formalism specifies discrete event systems in a hierarchical, modular manner. During simulation, each car is modelled as a message and traverses warehouse and stores. When a car arrives at a warehouse or a store, predetermined amount of goods are loaded or unloaded. The arrival time and departure time of cars are analyzed and eventually whether goods are delivered in the desired time bound is verified.

  • In this paper, we propose a multiplay Thompson sampling algorithm in multipath communication system. Multipath communication system has advantages on communication capacity, robustness, survivability, and so on. It is important to select appropriate network path according to the status of individual path. However, it is hard to obtain the information of path quality simultaneously. To solve this issue, we propose Thompson sampling which is popular in machine learning area. We find some issues when the algorithm is applied directly in the proposal system and suggested some modifications. Through simulation, we verified the proposed algorithm can utilize the entire network paths. In summary, our proposed algorithm can be applied as a path allocation in multipath-based communications system.

  • With the development of technology, a new class of smaller and more sensitive electrical systems have emerged, requiring higher quality power system. Improving the quality of the power system requires removing harmonics as much as possible to ensure better efficiency. We should first collect information on what harmonic frequencies are included in the current power system to remove the harmonics. In this paper, a new frequency analysis algorithm is introduced for a three-phase and a 1-phase power system. MTE PRS 600.3 is used to generate any harmonics to ensure that the algorithm performs well. Typing any harmonics on the Windows GUI program shows the analyzed result from the board developed for the algorithm.

  • Control algorithms for the absorption air conditioning system may be developed by using dynamic models of the system. The simplified effective dynamic models, which can predict the dynamic behaviors of the system, may help to develop effective control algorithms for the system. In this study, control algorithms for an absorption air conditioning system were developed by using a dynamic simulation program. A cooling water inlet temperature control algorithm, a chilled water outlet temperature control algorithm, and a supply air temperature control algorithm, were developed and analyzed. The steepest descent method was used as an optimal algorithm. The simulation results showed energy savings and the effective controls of an absorption air conditioning system.

  • Building energy saving is one of the most important issues in these days. Control algorithm for energy saving should be designed properly to reduce power consumption in building. Recently, building energy system consists of hybrid energy system coupling with RE (Renewable Energy) source. In this paper, an optimum control algorithm for building energy saving is applied to BEMS (Building Energy Management System) by using an outdoor air temperature prediction strategy. BEMS coupling with renewable energy can control HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning) system effectively. In order to verify the effectiveness of building energy saving, BEMS was tested for several months at a laboratorial chamber with an air conditioner, fan and heater. To this end BEMS embedded control algorithm has been tested successfully.
