  • 본 논문은 두 대의 카메라로부터 들어온 영상을 보여주는 see-through 장치의 사용 환경하에서 일반적인 사용자도 쉽고 편리하게 컴퓨터 시스템 또는 여러 프로세스들을 제어할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스를 제안한다. 이를 위해 AR기술을 접목하여 영상이 보이는 화면에 가상의 버튼들을 합성하였으며, 화면상에 보이는 손의 위치를 추적하여 손가락에 의한 버튼의 선택 유무를 판단하고 각 상황에 따른 버튼의 색상 변경을 통해 결과를 나타내었다. 사용자는 단순히 화면을 보며 공중에서 손가락을 움직여 버튼을 선택함으로써 관련 작업을 수행 할 수 있다.

Cinema of Interval: Sergei Eisenstein′s Theory and Practice of Montage

  • In the history of cinema, Sergei Eisenstein is always considered as a pioneer to conceive of cinema primarily as a form of expressing thought rather than as a representation of reality. For him, montage is the indispensable method to construct an open totality of thought and image in movement. It functions as a basic thread running through two poles of filmic composition, that is, the organic and the pathetic. The organic is concerned with the composition of the film structure as a whole, while the pathetic is involved in an ongoing process of registering a leaping point in various filmic sequences. The ultimate goal of montage for Eisenstein is to create the cinema of ideas which can synthesize both emotional and intellectual elements in the filmic composition. In his system of intellectual cinema, the identity of image and thought externalizes the sensory-motor unity of nature and man along the ascending spiral of centrifugal force of the film. Indeed, in both theory and practice, Eisenstein firmly argues that nature not only provides basic laws for the organic composition of the film, but also expresses itself in the form of the whole which brings out the experience of totality in the film text, the audience, and surely Eisenstein himself.

연속 다중 이미지 기반 3D 생성 모델 보정 기술 개발 (Corrected 3D Reconstruction Based on Continuous Image Sets)

  • 최근, 메타버스 서비스를 통해 시간적, 공간적 제약에서 벗어나 원격지와 의사 소통을 자연스럽게 진행하는데 많이 사용하고 있다. 이러한 메타버스 콘텐츠 제작을 위해서는 실제 공간의 데이터를 기반으로 3D 모델을 복원하고, 합성할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 다수의 카메라를 이용한 연속된 이미지를 기반으로 3D 생성 복원 모델을 제작하고, 복원된 3D 모델을 보정할 수 있는 기법을 제시한다. 이를 위해 오프라인으로 다중 카메라 셋업을 수행하고, 여러 각도에서 얻어진 이미지를 통해 만들어진 3D 모델에 대해 오류를 분석한 뒤 이미지 프레임 간의 매칭 기법으로 보정을 수행 하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 움직이는 3D 물체 복원 방법을 통해 문화, 관광, 의료 등 다양한 서비스 분야에 3D 복원 데이터를 활용할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

조명 및 법선벡터 지도 추정을 이용한 사실적인 가상 화장 시스템 (Virtual Make-up System Using Light and Normal Map Approximation)

  • 본 논문은 입력 영상에 자연스러운 가상 화장 효과를 빠르게 적용하기 위한 방법을 다룬다. 특히 얼굴의 굴곡과 조명에 따라 나타나는 자연스러운 음영 효과를 가상 화장에 적용함으로써 기존의 방법에 비해 자연스럽고 다양한 화장 효과를 얻기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 가상 화장 효과에 음영을 적용하기 위해서는 입력 영상의 조명 환경과 입력 영상의 얼굴 면의 각 화소에 대한 법선 벡터가 필요하다. 기존에 영상에서 조명 환경 및 법선 벡터를 생성하는 과정이 비교적 많은 계산량이 필요하므로 때문에 본 논문에서는 얼굴의 특징점을 찾는 단계적 자세 회귀 방법에 조명 환경을 근사하는 과정을 통합하고, 3차원 표준모델을 변환, 와핑하여 법선 벡터를 계산하는 과정을 통하여 빠르게 화장 효과를 합성하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 실험을 통하여 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법으로 근사한 조명 환경 및 법선 벡터는 시각적으로 자연스러운 가상 화장 효과를 표현할 수 있는 것을 보였다.

Large Area Bernal Stacked Bilayer Graphene Grown by Multi Heating Zone Low Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition

  • Graphene is a most interesting material due to its unique and outstanding properties. However, semi-metallic properties of graphene along with zero bandgap energy structure limit further application to optoelectronic devices. Recently, many researchers have shown that band gap can be induced in the Bernal stacked bilayer graphene. Several methods have been used for the controlled growth of the Bernal staked bilayer graphene, but it is still challenging to control the growth process. In this paper, we synthesize the large area Bernal stacked bilayer graphene using multi heating zone low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD). The synthesized bilayer graphenes are characterized by Raman spectroscopy, optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) is used for the observation of atomic resolution image of the graphene layers.

디지틀 홀로그램에서 샘플링 조건 완화를 위한 홀로그램 Segmentation (Hologram segmentation for relaxing sampling constraint in digital hologram)

  • This paper presents a new method to synthesize a digital hologram that meets the resolution of a currently manufactured LCD while capable of displaying a 3-D object. That is accomplished by segmenting a hologram, resulting in relaxed sampling constraint. We show that the segmentation of a hologram enables us to utilize the planewave approximation and, unlike in a holographic stereogram, it does not require projection process, but directly takes fourier transform of horizontally sliced 2-D images that constitute a 3-D object, which makes it possible to reconstruct a higher resolution image with depth information. We also show that proposed hologram contains data significantly smaller than the conventional hologram does, which is quite useful for constructing wide-viewing hologram. Finally, simulation results obtained by both methods are compared.

Estimation and Watermarking of Motion Parameters in Model Based Image Coding

  • In order to achieve an advanced human-computer interface system, it is necessary to analyze and synthesize facial motions just as they are in an interactive way, and to protect them from unwanted use and/or illegal use for their privacy, various uses in applications and the costs of obtaining motion parameters. To estimate facial motion, a method of using skin color distribution, luminance, and geometrical information of a face is employed. Digital watermarks are embedded into facial motion parameters and then these parameters are scrambled so that it cannot be understood. Experimental results show high accuracy and efficiency of the proposed estimation method and the usefulness of the proposed watermarking method.

  • FTriphenylamine dye compound having diheteryl moiety was synthesized and its photoluminescent property was investigated. Organic luminescent materials have received great attentions due to potential application subjects onto full color image displays. In this context, the dye (III) for light emitting materials was synthesized using 2-(4-amino-2-hydroxyphenyl)benzoxazole (I) and 4,4'-diformyltriphenylamine (II). It is well known that the amino groups of compound (I) react with carbonyl groups, especially an aldehyde, to afford azomethine linkages. The dye shows bulish-green fluorescence property, which is anticipated for the light-emitting material for display devices. In this context, our aim is to synthesize diheteryl-substituted triphenylamine fluorescent dye as an emitting material. The spectroscopic characteristics and the fluorescent properties of this dye molecule were examined and determined.

Flowing Water Editing and Synthesis Based on a Dynamic Texture Model

  • Using video synthesis to depict flowing water is useful in virtual reality, computer games, digital movies and scientific computing. This paper presents a novel algorithm for synthesizing dynamic water scenes through a sample video based on a dynamic texture model. In the paper, we treat the video sample as a 2-D texture image. In order to obtain textons, we analyze the video sample automatically based on dynamic texture model. Then, we utilize a linear dynamic system (LDS) to describe the characteristics of each texton. Using these textons, we synthesize a new video for dynamic flowing water which is prolonged and non-fuzzy in vision. Compared with other classical methods, our method was tested to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency with several video samples.

Occlusion Restoration of Synthetic Stereomate for Remote Sensing Imagery

  • Stereoscopic viewing is an efficient technique for not only computer vision but also remote sensing applications. Generally, stereo pair obtained at the same time is necessary for 3D viewing, but it is possible to synthesize a stereomate suitable for stereo view with a single image and disparity-map. There have been researches concerning the generation of the synthetic stereomate from remote sensing imagery. However it is hard to find researches concerning the restoration of occlusion in stereomate. In this paper, we generated synthetic stereomates from remote sensing images, focused on the occlusion restoration. In order to figure out proper restoration methods depending on the spatial resolution of remote sensing imagery, we tested several methods including general interpolation and inpainting technique, then evaluated the results.
