  • High-level synthesis(HLS)는 주어진 동작(behavior)과 면적(area), 성능(performance), 전력 소비량, 패키징, 테스팅등의 주어진 제한을 만족하게 구현된 구조적 디자인을 생성한다. 즉 high-level synthesis란 디지털 시스템의 알고리즘 단계 서술로부터 레지스터 전달구조의 구현에 이르는 과정을 의미한다. 이러한 high-level synthesis의 과정은 컴파일, 분할(partitioning), 스케줄링(scheduling)등의 단계를 거쳐 디지털 시스템을 설계할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 high-level synthesis의 단계 중 스케줄링 과정에서 제한조건이 실리콘 면적으로 주어지는 경우에 최적의 functional unit의 수를 찾아내어 최소의 control step에 효과적으로 스케줄링 가능한 알고리즘을 제안하였다.

히드로탈시트의 최적 합성조건 (II) (Optimal Synthesis Conditions of Hydrotalcite (II))

  • Hydrotalcite was prepared by reacting with sodium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide and aluminum chloride solutions in this study. The optimum synthesis conditions based on the yield of the product were established by applying Box-Wilson experimental design. It was found that the optimum synthesis conditions of hydrotalcite were as follows ; reacting temperature : 63~9$0^{\circ}C$, concentration of reactant solution : 18.20~19.82%, molar concentration ratio of two reactants [Mg(OH)$_2$] / (AICl$_3$.6$H_2O$) : 6.0, temperature of washing water : 29.0-34.4$^{\circ}C$, drying temperature : 56-77.6$^{\circ}C$. The physicochemical properties of hydrotalcite as medicine were studied by use of chemical analysis, bulk volume test and acid consuming capacity measurements.

  • Hydrotalcite was prepared by reacting with sodium carbonate, magnesium oxide and aluminum sulfate solutions in this study. The optimum synthesis conditions based on the yield of the product were established by applying Box-Wilson experimental design. It was found that the optimum synthesis conditions of hydrotalcite were as follows; reacting temperature : 48~63$^{\circ}C$, concentration of reactant solution : about 20%, molar concentration ratio of two reactants [MgO]/[Al. sulfate] ; 7.35~8.1, temperature of washing water : 34.4~37.4$^{\circ}C$, drying temperature : 74~81.5$^{\circ}C$. The physicochemical properties of hydrotalcite as medicine were studied by use of chemical analysis, D.S.C. thermogram, bulk volume test and acid consuming capacity measurements.

  • This study investigates the use of mixed $H_2/H_{$\infty}$ and $\mu$-synthesis to construct a robust controller for the benchmark problem. The model treated in the problem is a coupled three-inertial system that reflects the dynamics of mechanical vibrations. This kind of problem requires to be satisfied the robust performance (both in the time and frequency-domain specifications). We, first, adopt the mixed $H_2/H_{$\infty}$ theory to design a feedback controller K(s). Next, $\mu$-synthesis method is applied to the overall system to make use of structured parametric uncertainty. This process permits higher levels of controller authority and reduces the conservativeness of the controller. Finally, the feedforward controller is also used to improve the transient response of the output. We confirm that all design specifications except a complementary sensitivity condition can be achieved.

  • Recently, there have been many researches and developments in optical disc drive by high density of track and high access speed. Therefore, the optical pick-up should guarantee highly accurate dynamic characteristics for the wide bandwidth in order to cope with this trend. These demands for optical pick-up actuator can be solved by improvements of lens-holder through the following methods. The first way is the analysis of the sensitivity matrix of design variables for vibration modes after appropriate design parameters are selected like shapes and local dimensions of a lens-holder. The second way is the optimization of design variables by calculating sequential linear programming after the problem of extending bandwidth are converted to problem of minimizing adequate objective function. In the result, modified FE model is obtained through several iterations by finite difference scheme(FDS). While results of the first way show better convergence of the target frequency, the second result shows better reduction of mass increase.

  • The design of injection molded polymeric parts has been done empirically, since it requires profound knowledge about the moldability and causal effects on the properties of the part, which are not available to designers through current CAD systems. An interactive computer-based design system is developed in order to realize the concept of rational design for the productivity and quality of mold making. The knowledge-based CAD system is constructed by adding the knowledge -base module for mold feature synthesis and appropriate CAE programs for mold design analysis in order to provide designers, at the initial design stage, with comprehensive process knowledge for feature synthesis, performance analysis and feature-based geometric modeling. A knowledge-based CAD system is a new tool which enables the concurrent design with integrated and balanced design decisions at the initial design stage of injection molding.

  • This paper presents a pipeline high-level synthesis tool for designing trace-back systolic array viterbi decoder. It consists of a dta flow graph(DFG) generator and a pipeline data path synthesis tool. First, the DFG of the vitrebi decoder is generated in the from of VHDL netlist. The inputs to the DFG generator are parameters of the convolution encoder. Next, the pipeline scheduling and allocationare performed. The synthesis tool explores the design space efficiently, synthesizes various designs which meet the given constraints, and choose the best one.

데이타 상관 증가에 의한 저전력 상위 수준 합성 (Low power high level synthesis by increasing data correlation)

  • With the increasing performance and density of VLSI scircuits as well as the popularity of portable devices such as personal digital assitance, power consumption has emerged as an important issue in the design of electronic systems. Low power design techniqeus have been pursued at all design levels. However, it is more effective to attempt to reduce power dissipation at higher levels of abstraction which allow wider view. In this paper, we propose a simultaneous scheduling and binding scheme which increases the correlation between cosecutive inputs to an operation so that the switched capacitance of execution units is reduced in datapath-dominated circuits. The proposed method is implemented and integrated into the scheduling and assignment part of HYPER synthesis environment. Compared with original HYPER synthesis system, average power saving of 23.0% in execution units and 14.2% in the whole circuits, ar eobtained for a set of benchmark examples.

  • In many automatization applications, a rigid body is required to go forward and backward repeatedly through a set of given position/orientations precisely while a crank is rotated. Such a motion can be generated by 6 bar mechanism adding a dyad to a 4 bar mechanism. If this is the case for 3 position synthesis of the 4 bar mechanism, the feasible solution area for designing the 4 bar mechanism will be limited over the general solution area. This paper proposes a procedure to synthesize 4 bar mechanism to be used to generate the required motion. It is found that the only input crank of the 4 bar mechanism should be limited to satisfy the condition. And the feasible design area for the circle point/ center point of the input crank is identified so that design of the undesired mechanism could be avoided. The method is tested and the results are shown.
