Half bridge 회로를 기반으로 한 역률개선용 컨버터 (A High Quality Power Factor Correction Converter Based on Half Bride Topology)

  • 본 논문에서는 저용량의 응용 분야에 적합한 half-bridge 컨버터를 기반으로 하는 단상 AC/DC 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안된 컨버터는 고역률, 저하모닉 왜곡의 특성이 있으며 좋은 출력 레귤레이션 특성을 가지고 있다. 그리고 asymmetrical 제어를 통해 소프트 스위칭을 함으로써 스위칭 손실을 줄였으며 출력단의 정류손실을 줄이기 위해서 synchronous rectifier를 적용하였다. 또한 본 컨버터를 체계적으로 설계하기 위해 평균화법을 통한 모델링을 수행하여 설계식을 도출하였다. 이 설계식을 통하여 프로토타입 컨버터를 설계하여 실험한 결과 제안된 컨버터는 IEC555-2 규제를 만족하였고 정격에서 효율은 약 85%를 얻었다.

  • 최근 태양광 발전시스템 등 낮은 전압을 발생하는 전원소스를 이용하여 높은 승압효과를 얻기 위한 멀티레벨 인버터에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문은 FPGA 기반 멀티레벨 인버터용 스위칭 함수를 구현하고자 한다. FPGA는 프로그램 가능한 로직 디바이스로써 풀 디지털 스위칭함수를 구현하는 효율적이다. 본 논문에서는 FPGA 기반 스위칭 함수를 구현하기 위해서 마이크로프로세서로부터 출력되는 클럭과 동기신호로 독립적으로 구동이 되도록 하였다.

  • This paper proposes the novel control of a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM). This STATCOM system consists of cascade multilevel inverter which employs H-bridge inverter(HBI) The STATCOM system is modeled in the d-q transform matrix. This model is used to design a controller. The selective harmonic elimination method(SHEM) allows to keep the total harmonic distortion (THD) low in the output voltage. The switching method produces the staircase type waveform in cascade multilevel inverter. To balance the DC voltages in HBIs capacitor, the rotated switching scheme is newly proposed in this paper. The proposed control scheme is verified in the simulated results.

Fault Diagnosis of a Voltage-Fed PWM Inverter for a Three-parallel Power Conversion System in a Wind Turbine

  • In this paper, a fault diagnosis method based on fuzzy logic for the three-parallel power converter in a wind turbine system is presented. The method can not only detect both open and short faults but can also identify faulty switching devices without additional voltage sensors or an analysis modeling of the system. The location of a faulty switch can be indicated by six-patterns of a stator current vector and the fault switching device detection is achieved by analyzing the current vector. A fault tolerant algorithm is also presented to maintain proper performance under faulty conditions. The reliability of the proposed fault detection technique has been proven by simulations and experiments with a 10kW simulator.

  • The paper proposes a new type of robust speed control strategy for permanent magnet synchronous motor by using PD-sliding mode hybrid control. The PD control has a good performance in the transient region while the sliding mode controller provides the robustness against system uncertainties. Taking advantages of the two control strategies, the proposed control method utilizes the PD control in the approaching region to the sliding surface and the sliding mode control near at the sliding surfaces. The chattering problem of the sliding mode controller is eliminated by applying the saturation function for the switching function of the sliding mode control. The stability of the sliding mode control is verified by using Lyapunov function with the proper selection of variable gains. It is shown that with this simple switching algorithm, stability of the overall hybrid control system is ensured. Through the simulations, the PD-sliding mode algorithm is shown to have a good performance in the transient response as well as being robust against disturbances. The robustness of the PD-sliding mode algorithm is further demonstrated against various external disturbances in the real experiments of SPMSM motor control.

  • This paper shows an improvement of the WRSM (Wound Rotor Synchronous Motor) by satisfying the voltage limit condition at high speed. After that, it compares the performance of the improved WRSM to that of the IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor). The comparison has been made under the condition where the dimension of the motor is identical to that of the IPMSM, having the rotor switched to a wounded rotor form. Moreover, this paper compares the Basic Model of the two motor, and estimates the parameters of the WRSM, thereby proposing the method to improve high speed performance. Furthermore, this paper presents the feasibility of switching the conventional motor into rare-earth-free motors for traction purpose.

  • This paper proposes a servo control system of SPMSM (Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) which essentially uses vector control method. The control system is composed of the PI controller for speed control and the current controller using space voltage vector PWM technique. The high-speed processing of algorithm for vector control and inverter switching for PWM is carried out by TMS320C31 DSP and IGBT module, respectively. The proposed scheme for 2.2kW SPMSM is verified through digital simulations and experiments, which show higher performance than that of traditional hysteresis current control technique.

Model Predictive Control of Circulating Current Suppression in Parallel-Connected Inverter-fed Motor Drive Systems

  • Parallel three-phase voltage source inverters in a direct connection configuration are widely used to increase system power ratings. A zero-sequence circulating current can be generated according to the switching method; however, the zero-sequence circulating current not only distorts current, but also reduces the system reliability and efficiency. In this paper, a model predictive control scheme is proposed for parallel inverters to drive an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with zero-sequence circulating current suppression. The voltage vector of the parallel inverters is derived to predict and control the torque and stator flux components. In addition, the zero-sequence circulating current is suppressed by designing the cost function without an additional current sensor and high-impedance inductor. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the proposed control scheme.

  • A permanent magnet synchronous motor motor for high-speed drive was developed based on an analytical method. Especially. rated speed and torque according to switching scheme are offered. A prototype machine was also fabricated and tested to confirm the design. Preliminarily obtained experimental data using the prototype machine shows the validity of the design.

  • Input queueing is useful for high bandwidth switches and routers because of lower complexity and fewer circuits than output queueing. The input queueing switch, however, suffers HOL-Blocking, which limits the throughput to 58%. To get around this low throughput, we propose a simple scheduling algorithm called Synchronous Input Port (SIP). This method synchronize packets and switching without blocking, which is shown to have better performance over the established algorithms
