  • A synchronized secondaty air injection method has been developed to hydrocarbon emission by injecting secondary air intermittently into exhaust port. The method has been tested in a single cylinder spark-ignition engine operating at cold-steady / cold-start conditions. Effects of air injection timing, intake pressure and engine air-fuel ratio have been investigated at cold-steady condition. Also, hydrocarbon emission and exhaust gas temperature with catalytic conberter are compared with a continuous SAI method and base condition at cold-start condition. Resules show that hydrocarbon reduction rate and exhaust gas temperature are sensitive to the timing of synchronized SAI. At cold-steady condition, HC emission is minimum at engine air-fuel ratio of 10. At cold-start condition, the accumulated hydrocarbon emission during the first 120 s decreases about 56% and 22% with the synchronized and continuous SAI, respectively, compared to that of base condition.

  • Effect of secondary air injection (SAI) on hydrocarbon reduction has been investigated in a single cylinder Sl engine operating at cold-steady/cold-start conditions. The hydrocarbon emission and exhaust gas temperature with and without catalytic converter were compared with continuous and synchronized SAIs, which injected secondary air intermittently into exhaust port. Effects of SAI location, SAI pressure, SAI timing, and location of catalytic converter have been investigated and the results are compared for both SAls with base condition. At cold-steady condition, the rate of HC reduction increased as the location of SAI was closer to the exhaust valve for both synchronized and continuous SAls. The emission of HC decreased with increasing exhaust-A/F when it was rich, and was relatively insensitive when it was lean. The timing of SAI in synchronized SAI had significant effect on HC reduction and exhaust gas temperature and the synchronized SAI was found to be more effective in HC reduction and exhaust gas temperature compared to the continuous SAI . At cold-start condition, when the catalytic converter was located 20 cm downstream from the exhaust port exit, the catalytic converter warm-up period for both SAls decreased by about 50%, and the accumulated hydrocarbon emission during the first 120 s decreased about by 56% and 22% with the synchronized and continuous SAIs, respectively, compared to that of the base condition.

  • The Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL) is a declarative markup language based on the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) to define a set of markup tags for synchronizing the timing and positioning relationships between multimedia objects. SMIL makes authoring of TV-like multimedia presentations on the Web easier for applications such as electronic commerce. We present the design and implementation of a JAVA-based SMIL player, which processes different types of media objects using multiple threads. Moreover, its cache engine detects the media type and allocates the proper cache memory for the corresponding media object.

  • The maximum and mean indicated pressure of two stroke low speed diesel engine has been continuously increased with a view of increasing engine power and also reducing fuel consumption. As a result, axial excitation has been increased comparing to that of the previous one. So the axial vibration damper in standard one is applied to all two stroke low speed diesel engine at the free end of crankshaft. Though many studies were carried out for marine use, few has been made for diesel power plant because there was little demand for power plant. Nowadays, diesel engine is much to be used for many benefits. In this paper, the optimum design of axial vibration on the 65 kW diesel power plant with tow 9K80MC-S engines of 9 cylinders was carried out. And the axial-torsional coupled vibration of this shafting system is identified by theoretical analysis and vibration measurement.

It uses the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) to define a set of markup tags to synchronize the timing and positioning relationships between multimedia objects. We present the design and implementation of JAVA-based SMIL player, SSP(Sejong SMIL Player). SSP processes different types of media objects using multiple threads. Moreover, its cache engine detects the mediatype and allocates the proper cache memory for the corresponding media object.

  • This study investigates the characteristics of spray, such as evaporation rate and spray trajectory, for a 4-hole injector which is applied to a 4-valve motorcycle gasoline engine. Three dimensional, unsteady, compressible flow and spray within the intake-port and cylinder have been simulated using the VECTIS code. Spray characteristics were investigated at 6000 rpm engine speed. Furthermore, we visualized fuel behavior in the intake-port using a CCD camera synchronized with a stroboscope in order to compare with the analytical results. Boundary and intial conditions were employed by complete 1-D simulation of the engine using the WAVE code. Fuel was injected into the intake-port at two time intervals relative to the position of the intake valves so that the spray arrived when the valves were closed and fully open. The results showed that the trajectory of the spray was directed towards the lower wall of the port with injection against the closed valves. With open valve injection, a large portion of the fuel was lifted by the co-flowing air towards the upper half of the port and this was confirmed by simulation and visualization.

  • 멀티미디어 정보를 상호 교환하고, 작성자가 의도한 대로 프리젠테이션하기 위해 서는 정보의 상호 교환 포멧과 미디어들간의 동기화가 필요하며, 사용자와의 빈번한 상호 동작을 통해 프리젠테이션해야 하는 멀티미디어 응용을 지원하기 위해 서는 이를 지원할 수 있는 기법이 필수적으로 제공되어야 한다. 이를 위해서 본 논 문에서는 국제표준으로 정의된 기능을 수행할 수 있도록 개발된 MHEG엔진에서 조건적, 시간 및 공간적 동기화의 제어와 그리고 멀티미디어 정보를 프티젠테이션하는데 필요한 미디어 데이타들을 결합하여 동기화된 프리젠테이션을 수행할 수 있고, 프리젠테이션 도중에 사용자의 입력을 받아 들여 사용자와 MHEG엔진과의 대화형 처리를 가능하도록 개선된 MHEG엔진에서의 멀티미디어 정보 동기 제어기 및 제어 방법을 제시하였다.

가솔린 엔진 흡기 포트내의 연료 거동 및 벽류 생성 가시화 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Visualization Technique for Fuel Behavior and Fuel-Film Formation in the Intake Port of a S.I. Engine)

  • In a gasoline engine with port injection system, the fuel behavior in the intake port has significant influence on the HC emission and the precise A/F control. That is to say, it is inevitable that the injection direction and behavior of fuel injected in the intake port have an effect on the generation of unburned HC within a cylinder. In this paper, we visualized fuel behavior in the intake port using micro CCD camera synchronized with the stroboscope and investigated the fuel-film characteristics formed at the wall of intake port by processing image captured with VCR in the transparent intake port made of acryl. Using these measuring methods, it was found that fuel behavior and the formation of fuel-film in the intake port could be evaluated qualitatively. And results obtained by these methods show that 2-spray injector minimizes the fuel-film formed in the intake port of a DOHC gasoline engine.

  • 차량용 전방충돌방지 시스템으로 많이 사용 중인 FMCW 레이더는 현재 상용화되어 대중적이 되었다. 본 연구에서는 77 GHz급의 고성능 ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance System)를 위한 전용 프로세서인 NXP사의 MPC5775K를 기반으로 레이더 신호처리부를 개발하였다. MPC5775K는 자동차용 MPU 계열에 FMCW 레이더에서 요구하는 기능을 추가한 것으로 10Msps급 12bit ADC, 2개의 50MHz Radix-4 FFT HW를 내장한 것이 특징이다. 또한 주기적인 레이더 송수신 신호를 만들고, 이를 동기화하여 획득하는 CTE(Cross Triggering Engine)를 제공하여 다양한 알고리즘 개발에 활용이 가능하다. 보드를 개발하여 직접 FMCW 레이더 기능을 시험하였으며 그 결과를 시리얼통신으로 PC에서 전송하여 Matlab에서 실시간 그래프로 성능을 검증하였다.

  • 하이퍼 프리젠테이션은 다양한 멀티미디어 객체를 표현하는 기술로 교육, 광고, 엔터테인먼트, 잡지, 협동작업 등의 응용분야에서 적용될 수 있다. 이를 위한 하이퍼 프리젠테이션 엔진은 프리젠테이션 시나리오에 포함된 멀티미디어 객체들 간의 시간적관계 및 사용자와의 상호작용을 처리해야 한다. 이 논문은 프리젠테이션 시나리오 기술 언어인 SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language)로 표현된 하이퍼 프리젠테이션 시나리오를 브라우징하는 비라우저 엔진에 적용하기 위한 트리거 모델을 제시한다. SMIL로 표현된 객체들 간의 시간관계를 고려하여 시간 동기화를 처리하기 위한 이벤트와 사용자 행위나 브라우저로부터의 이벤트 등을 정의하였고 이를 수행하기 위한 트리거 실행모델을 기술한다.
