The purpose of this paper is to present a qualitative case study on teaching English as an international language in Korean context. The researcher investigated the implementation process of the new elementary English program from the government to local schools to find out to what extent the symbolic value of English as an international language affect the implementation process of the elementary English program. The research result showed that the elementary teachers shared the different views of the status of English from those of government and the parents, and their differing perception of the role of English constantly affected their implementation efforts. The research findings also revealed that the public's concern of English dominance in Korean educational system resulted in the government's 'comprised curriculum' by lowering the learning goals of the English program. The findings also indicated that the introduction of the elementary English program accelerated English dominance in both teacher and student culture. The question of how to resolve the conflict between acquiring English proficiency and its negative influence on Korean culture remains a complex issue in implementing the new elementary English program.

시대정신을 함유하고 사회와 역사를 통해 인간을 고찰하며 삶과 현 세대를 자각케 하는 예술적 완성도가 높은 영화의 구성과 상징표현 그리고 스타일 등을 분석하여 그 내적 의미와 철학의 표현을 분석하는 것은 대중예술로서 영화에 있어 매우 뜻 깊으며 가치 있는 연구 일 것이다. 영화 로마는 절제하고 감추고 생략함으로써 대중들의 마음 속 빈틈을 파고들고 절제되었으며, 흑백영화로써 색감도 감췄다. 인종, 자본, 사회적으로 억압된 역사와 가정부로 살아가는 일상의 아이러니한 메시지를 표현하는 상징적 이미지를 통한 미학적 시도를 많이 발견할 수 있다. 많은 대조를 통한 상징적 표현과 사물을 통한 상징적 표현을 영화 속에 그려내며 자신만의 작가주의적인 영상언어를 구사하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 예술적 가치를 함유한 상업 영화의 분석은 예술영화의 나아갈 바에 대한 척도와 작가주의적 표현기법의 선례로 향후 작품 제작에 있어 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

최근 몇 년 동안 인공지능과 기계 학습 분야에서 대량의 데이터를 효율적으로 처리하고 해석하는 방법에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이러한 데이터 처리 기술 중 하나인 벡터 기호 아키텍처(Vector Symbolic Architecture, VSA)는 고차원 벡터를 이용하여 복잡한 기호와 데이터를 표현하는 혁신적인 접근법을 제시한다. VSA는 특히 자연어 처리, 이미지 인식, 로봇 공학 등 다양한 응용 분야에서 주목받고 있다. 본 연구는 VSA 방법론들의 특성과 성능을 정량적으로 평가하기 MNIST 데이터셋에 5가지 VSA 방법론을 적용하여 인코딩 속도, 디코딩 속도, 메모리 사용량, 복원 정확도와 같은 주요 성능 지표를 벡터 길이별로 측정하였다. 인코딩 속도와 디코딩 속도에서 BSC와 VT가 상대적으로 빠른 성능을 보였으며, MAP과 HRR은 상대적으로 느렸다. 메모리 사용량에서는 BSC가 가장 효율적이었고, MAP이 가장 많은 메모리를 사용하였다. 복원 정확도는 MAP이 가장 높았으며, BSC가 가장 낮았으며 연구 결과는 적용 영역에 따라 적절한 VSA 방법론을 선택할 수 있는 기준을 제시할 수 있다.

인간의 경험은 지식의 원천이다. 우리는 지식의 원천에 관심을 가질 뿐만 아니라 그것이 사람에서 사람으로, 세대에서 세대로 전달되는 방법에도 관심을 갖는다. 한 가지 사항은 분명하다. 즉, 경험은 경험으로 전달 할 수 없으므로 먼저 "어떤 다른 것"으로 번역 되어야 한다는 점이다. 전달되는 것은 바로 그 "어떤 다른 것"이다. 그것이 "접수될" 때도 경험과 닮은 어떤 것으로 재번역 된다. 라깡(Lacan)은 우리가 경험하는 현실을 상상계, 상징계, 실재계로 설명한다. 라캉은 1953년에 유명한 논문 "정신분석에서 말과 언어의 기능과 장"을 발표하는데, 라캉은 정신분석이 말하는 주체에 관한 학문임을 역설하면서 주체의 원인이자 실질적 체계가 되는 상징계의 중요성을 강조한다. 사실 수학적 체계는 거의 모든 내용이 상징으로 구성되어 있다. 라깡이 대수학과 더불어 위상학을 도입하는 이유는 정신분석이론이 과학에 걸 맞는 형식화를 동경해야 한다는 것이었고, 따라서 그는 정신분석을 형식화하려는 노력을 해왔다. 본 논문은 기하학적 모델이나 위상공간과 같은 수학적 모델 및 수학적 개념이 어떻게 라깡의 심리학과 정신분석에 대한 이해를 도울 수 있는지를 알아보고자 한다. 또한, 그 응용으로서 인문학적 상상력을 동원하여 상징들을 재번역함으로써 학생들에게 다양한 사고의 능력을 키워줄 수 있음에 대해 이야기 하고자한다.

이 글은 "노자의 도와 소쉬르의 언어학: 잘못된 만남"의 후속편으로 기획되었다. 노자의 도와 소쉬르의 언어학의 접점을 찾기 위해 '비상명(非常名)'을 어떻게 이해해야할까라는 질문을 던졌다. 노자의 '비상명'이 소쉬르가 말한 기호의 자의성과 부합하기 때문이다. 노자의 비상명이 갖는 성격을 부각하기 위해 공자의 '정명'과 비교하는 방법을 택했다. 이를 통해, 공자의 정명은 언어질서를 통해 예법을 회복하자는 주장임에 반해, 노자의 비상명은 기호의 자의성을 말한 것임을 드러냈다. 노자는 비상명을 통해 기호는 기표(signifiant)와 기의(signifie)가 본질적이고 필연적으로 결합되어 있지 않음을 드러냈다. 여기에서 더 나아가 기호의 자의성으로부터 언어질서는 해체될 수 있으며, 언어질서로 구축된 사회의 구조나 규범, 예법이라는 것도 해체될 수 있음을 보여준다. 결국 노자의 비상명은 제도로서 언어, 상징계로서 언어인 주나라의 언어질서에 저항하는 논리이자 해체의 논리이다. 이를 해명하기 위해, 세 가지 논증을 사용했다. 첫째는 '명'에 대한 중국 고대의 논의가 단순한 관직명과 사물의 명칭인 물명(物名)을 의미하는 것이 아니라, 한 사회의 제도와 법, 규범에 관한 논의였음을 해명하였다. 둘째, 언어 질서가 사회 제도이자 사회 구조임을 해명하는 논증을 소쉬르와 라캉의 말을 가져와 해명하였다. 소쉬르는 언어학의 탐구 대상이 한 사회의 제도와 규범, 법에 대한 탐구라고 말하고 있고, 라캉은 이를 상징계(the Symbolic)라고 말하고 있는 점을 가져와 논증하였다. 셋째, '비상명'이 기표와 기의의 자의적이고 임의적인 관계를 드러내는 중요한 용어임을 해명하였다. 소쉬르는 기호는 기표와 기의의 결합은 본질적이지 않고, 임의적이고 자의적이라고 한다. 노자의 비상명 역시 기표와 기의가 자의적인 결합임을 해명하였다. 이러한 논증을 통해 노자의 비상명이 제도로서 언어와 상징계로서 언어에 저항하고 이를 해체하는 논리임을 해명하였다.

The subject is connected with a structure named "The Symbolic" to Lacan, but he denied that the subject is explained simply as a fruit of language and "Other". From his point of view, passing through Subject, De-formation and Crack over it is designated as foundation of generation and creation rather than our destined defect. It should not be understood that subject of "The Real" is a concept of the subject free itself from restraint of "The Symbolic". However, this does not mean he asserts "Subject" is something incapable of being controlled by the unknown power. The problem is that this autonomous existence meets inside of it with something "more than one's own self" by "circulating around itself" like a permanent star. This is the indication of a "stranger in the middle of my privacy", or "extimit$\'{e}$", a coined-word by Lacan. Perhaps "Subject" is nothing more than the name of distance of object which is "too hot" to come close, and of this circulating movement. It's because of this object that the real subject stands against generalization and the subject can't be restored to any place in symbolic order-even though it is empty. The part which is told from Lacan's structural theory, that is to say, an importance to Lacan is that his Subject theory is not suggested or denied as a manual structure. On the contrary, it is a study of the relationship between the settled symbol that included in "real subject which is a unconscious one" and the symbolic subject hold- that is a metaphysical subject in general meaning. In Lacan's enlarged concept of subject beyond symbolic reality, it is noticeable that it gives justifiability to the union of a medium of different nature in artistic expression. We can recognize that the unconscious world is a living space which enables it to be a "condition of human being", not something dark under the surface of water through Magritte's(Rene Magritte, 1898~1967) surrealistic works. In other words, Magritte's art secures a core dimension of human nature through a mysterious gap of conscious and settled space. Magritte's drawings often evokes strange and unsettling feelings in people who view his paintings. This is because routine objects are found in "unsuitable" places from which we usually find them in our everyday lives. "Reality" in Magritte's paintings makes it aware that it is a strained field of concealment and disclosure basically between truths, and we can learn that his behavior to overturn to paint in-visible things is finally an effort to restore the "real subject" to the viewer's reality. In other words, such reversion arouses a nostalgic desire for the objects existing in their original appearance as they are - natural condition that our gaze had not been distorted yet by anamorphic stains. - and the state when we are conscious of them normally. Such desire offers an opportunity for us to get out of mental depression rather than operates to us as an abnormal crack. It's a successive process of effort to search for lost subject and Paradise Lost facing up to reality of subject human that is to be a subject of world and life are ousted from their place by structure and authority of culture.

국제 행사에서 개최지역 문화와 국제사회의 흐름에 부합하는 상징적 개념을 제시하면 세계인의 호응을 얻어 개최지역의 이미지도 올릴 수 있다. 국제 행사 마스코트는 개최지역의 고유한 문화를 상징적으로 나타내며, 구성원의 소속감과 자긍심을 높이고 개최지역의 이미지를 대외적으로 친근하게 나타낼 수 있는 좋은 수단이다. 본 연구는 국제축구연맹(FIFA)의 축구월드컵 행사 마스코트에 반영된 지역 특성과 상징 표현 요소에 대하여 고찰하였다. 1966년부터 2018년까지 개최된 축구월드컵 행사 마스코트는 총 14개로 이들의 소재는 동물, 식물, 사람, 창작 등으로 나누어볼 수 있다. 마스코트에는 지역의 특산물, 개최 지역의 국기, 상징적인 복장, 개최지역 언어, 사회적 논점 등의 지역 특성이 적용되었으며, 마스코트의 복장, 자세, 소품과 행사 관련 문자가 상징 표현 요소로 사용되었다. 연구를 통해 도출된 시사점은 첫째, 마스코트는 지역 특성보다는 행사 주제인 '축구'상징 요소를 더 강하게 표현하고 있었다. 둘째, 지역 특성 표현 요소 중에는 '국기'를 활용한 사례가 돋보였다. 셋째, 마스코트 소재는 '동물'이 선호되었다. 넷째, 마스코트가 '문화향품'과 접목하게 되고, 사회적 경각심을 불러일으키는 등의 확장된 역할을 하게 되었다. 이 연구에서 제기한 특성 및 상징 표현 요소 분류에서 도출된 시사점은 국제 행사 마스코트 기획의 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.

In this paper, a new state assignment method is proposed for the implementation of the area-effective control part. Introducing the, concept of adjacency matrix to control table generated by SDL(Symbolic Description Language) hardware compiler, a state assignment method is proposed with which minimal number of flip flops and effective number of product terms can be obtained to accomplish the area-effective implementation. Also, with substituting the assigned code to state transition table, boolean equations are obtained through 2-level logic minimization. Proposed algorithm is programmed in C-language on VAX-750/UNIX and b efficiency is shown by the practical example.

This paper surveys the meaning of the pen name ′Yi Sang(李箱)′ in the light of the arbitariness of language and the relationship among names, observing in three ways how the images of ′Sang′ (Box) appear differently in his works. In Particular, we look into (1) the relationship between a box and its inner boxes, (2) the divisional relationship in the box, and (3) the relationship between the box and an outer box. In Yi Sang′s work, image (1) gives shape to the relationship between the writer himself and his ancestors who are responsible for his present existence. Image (2) gives shape to two internally divided Yi Sangs, and is symbolized as a mirror that reflects two selves. Image (3) gives shape to a relationship between himself in the closed world and other people and/or a bigger outside world. All these symbolic relationships are fully represented in his work "Nalgae" (The Wing)". What is interesting is that Yi Sang has already employed these box images in his earlier poetry "Geonchuk-muhan-yukmyeon-gaucho" (Infinite Architectural Hexagon). furthermore, by visualizing his name as a sqaure($\square$), he means to suggest the intentional image of his pen name as a ′box′.

본 논문은 구문해석, 의미해석 등의 전처리 단계로서의 형태소 분석기 구현에 대해 기술하고자 한다. 먼저 기존의 접속정보의 단점을 보완하는 새로운 접속정보를 정의한다. 이 접속정보는 계층적구조를 가지고 심볼로써 표현되며, 기존의 좌우 두 가지 접속정보를 사용한 방법과는 달리 좌우를 하나로 통합한 정보를 사용한다. 따라서 접속정보 유지와 확장에 편의를 제공해 주고 접속정보 부여시 정확성을 더할 수 있고, 계층적구조를 살려서 접속정보표의 구성을 용이하게 한다. 또한 불규칙활용에 있어서는 사전정보에 의한 선언적 방법과 프러시져에 의한 절차적 방법의 장점을 살려 혼용하였다. 끝으로 앞에서 정의된 새로운 접속정보 방식의 장점을 살려서 정확한 분석 결과를 얻을 수 있는 형태소 분석기의 구현에 대해 설명한다.
