오늘날 데이터는 p-차원의 공간에서 점들로써 표현되는 전통적인 형태를 벗어나 시그널(signal), 함수, 이미지(image), 모양(shape) 등과 같은 다양한 형태의 자료들이 데이터로써 고려되고 분석되고있다. 그러한 종류의 새로운 종류의 데이터 중 하나로 심볼릭 데이터(symbolic data)를 고려할 수 있다. 심볼릭 데이터는 구간(interval), 히스토그램(histogram), 목록(list), 통계표, 분포, 또는 모형 등과 같은 다양한 형태들을 가질 수 있다. 지금까지의 연구가 주로 심볼릭 데이터의 각각의 형태별 자료를 고려했다면, 본 연구에서는 이를 확장하여 수집된 히스토그램과 멀티모달의 혼합된 형태로 이루어진 자료에 대한 계층 분할적 군집분석방법을 소개하고 이를 업종별 산업재해자료의 분석을 위해 이용한다.

The Office of Korean National Railroads announced a design competition for Kwangyang Station and sought design proposals in October of 2002. The authors collaborated on a landscape design for Kwangyang Station and earned first prize in the competition. The Office decided to construct outdoor public spaces of Kwangyang Station for railroad users, visitors and staff, and local residents. The landscape design covers the following: site inventory and analysis; integration of design program and site analysis; evaluation of design concept; selecting a winning design alternative; schematic design including circulation form and spatial form; and design development including subarea design. In the design process, the authors focused on the integration and interpretation of site conditions as related to the Kwangyang Station building. They also collectively analyzed and considered the physical development of the outdoor spaces of Kwangyang Station. The following are some of the major areas in the design of the outdoor spaces of Kwangyang Station: 1) a plaza for waiting, 2) an entry area for passengers, 3) a train cafeteria, 4) a cultural plaza, 5) an image wall, and 6) a symbolic pond. The plaza for waiting is created as a place for users to wait and rest. The entry area for passengers provides an area for pedestrians approaching, passing and strolling. The train cafeteria features trains, lawns, grasses and trees. The cultural plaza is a main area representing the regional characteristics of Kwangyang. This plaza also provides an area for various public events. The image wall is meant to be an exhibition space for displaying the advancements of Korean National Railroads in sculptural image forms. The symbolic pond consists of an area with symbolic water features and several sculptures with artistic value. In the authors' design, the outdoor spaces of Kwangyang station are created as a new type of public realm with function, regional quality, original identity, cultural context, symbolic meaning and images, and beauty. The designed spaces would be one of the most representative places of interest and attraction in Kwangyang.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the types of jeans fashion in the basis of designer brand. and to analyze the symbolic characters of jeans fashion. Designer brand re-established jeans fashion by compounding high cultural factors and low cultural factors. broke up the boundary between street fashion and high fashion. and escaped from fixed idea on materials and design. This study divides the types of jeans fashion within the designer brand into classifications of Hippie style, Punk style, American Street style, Neo-classic style, and Grungy style. Today, reinterpreting the resistant image of jeans fashion, designers creates the various styles and also restores the upscale image of it. The symbolic characters of jeans fashion are summerized as sexuality, deconstructiveness, conspicuousness, humour, and multiculturalism. As the results of the symbolic characters of jeans fashion in the new Millennium era will suggest the wide aesthetic expression and continue to influence a more diverse jeans fashion trends.

본 연구는 한국 TV 뉴스 브랜드 이미지를 기능적, 상징적 속성의 측면에서 알아보고 이들의 상호 관계, 그리고 이들이 시청의도에 미치는 영향을 조사하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. KBS1, SBS, JTBC의 저녁 메인 뉴스 시청자 412명을 대상으로 서베이를 실시하였으며, 요인분석과 회귀분석을 사용하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, TV 뉴스 브랜드 개성은 진취성, 정직성, 전통성 등 3개의 차원으로 구성되어 있었다. JTBC가 진취성, 정직성 면에서 SBS와 KBS1을 제치고 가장 높은 평균값을 보였고, 전통성 면에서는 가장 낮은 평균값을 나타냈다. 또한 TV 뉴스 브랜드 이미지의 기능적, 상징적 속성은 높은 상관관계를 보이며, 상호 동일한정도의 영향력을 미치고 있었다. 끝으로 시청 의도는 뉴스 브랜드 기능적 편익, 정직성, 그리고 진취성 개성 요인의 순으로 결정되었다.

This study researched the symbolic meaning of the costume colors in the independent film . The purpose of the study is to shed light on the relation between a film and the clothing color by exploring the symbolic meaning of costume colors as based on place images and as reflected in characters' internal psychological states and situations. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the colors primarily presented were neutral shades of black and white or dark, almost-black tones, representing the negative narrative structure and depicting the image of a human being. Second, a series of bright blue shades were presented to reflect the positive narrative structure of a human being returning successfully to reality. Third, the application of color, involving both the psychological aspect as well as the symbolism of color, was effectively delivered to the audience. Fourth, the emphasis on color in the smallest details of costumes was analyzed, and it was found that symbolic color effectively communicated the whole image of transformation as the story progressed, clearly delivered delicate emotional messages, and contained symbolism relating to particular places and situations.

The purpose of this study was to analyze characteristics of effective expression on T-shirts pattern by peirce's semiotic theory. The methods of this study was to analyze 721 T-shirts patterns in designer's collection from 2000 to 2004. The results of this study were as follows: First of all, iconic expression showed high frequency after 2000. Characteristics of effective expression were as follows: In geometric expression, repetition was presented as a symbolic sign by regular proportion and rule of dot, line, plane, irregularity, mixture of irregular dot, line, plane. Mixed expression was presented as a iconic and symbolic sign by collage, mixture of dot, line, plane, icon and letter. In iconic expression, simplification of iconic sigrl was presented as a iconic sign by simplification of form, color, texture, realistic expression using digital as a iconic sign, and symbolic face, body as a symbolic sign. Pop art's expression was presented as a iconic sign by a cartoon and commercial character and illusion was presented as a iconic sign. In letter's expression, brand logo was presented as a symbolic sign by transformation of letter's design, a symbolic sign of numeral by transformation of size, thickness, form, color. Symbolic message phrase was presented by slogan, fashion trend, brand image, descriptive indication message as a index sign by using icon or singleness. In conclusion, characteristics of effective expression on T-shirts pattern will present not only the theoretical foundation to raise the value added, but also the information about beauty sense of times, political and social value.

본 연구는 학생들이 일상적인 경험으로부터 형성한 이미지로는 해결하기 어려운 과제에서 학생들이 어떻게 사고하는지, 그리고 자신의 이미지를 어떻게 조작하고 변형하여 과제 해결에 유용한 새로운 이미지를 구성하는지를 고찰하고자 한 것이다. 이 연구를 위해 정사면체를 분할하는 과제를 사용하였으며, 2명의 중학교 1학년 학생의 추론과정을 세밀하게 분석하였다. 두 학생의 사례로부터 이미지에 기반 한 사고를 이미지 형성, 이미지 검토/해석, 이미지 조작/변형, 새로운 이미지의 형성 등의 순환과정과 이미지를 유도하는 언어적 사고와 이미지로부터 파악되는 사실에 기반을 둔 언어적 추론의 순환 과정으로 분석할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 구체적 이미지에 기반 한 사고와 기호적 이미지에 기반 한 사고의 특성 및 그들 사이의 관계를 이해할 수 있었다.

The objective of this study is to consider the uniform as visual communication, and analyze the expression of symbol shown on the uniform design by the pattern by applying the visual symbol in the communication and operation of the meaning. Also, it is to construct the systematic modeling method of the expression of design symbol by the pattern of uniform in th e various fields. This study is to analyze the symbolic expression method of the uniform design by the pattern by suggesting the symbolic expression method as a frame through the visual symbolic approach of the uniform design and the analysis of semantic symbol according to that. As a result, there arose simplification and emphasis and a method of symbolic expression with the national flag, a conceptual factor characteristically in the sports uniform design. The characteristics of symbolic expression of uniform design were mainly used in the symbolic expression with the customary code and symbol. Also, the uniform in the enterprises were widely used in the expression of uniform with the suggestion and code by the color. As for the characteristics of symbolic expression shown on the event uniform design, the method of symbolic expression by the pattern of uniform was grasped differently asa result of symbolic expression through the image. The method of symbolic expression suggested on this study could be used on a basis of uniform design in the future. Accordingly, this study has a meaning of suggesting the methodology of uniform design that would be a parameter.

1"his Study is to make research a Image and Symbol in the Gothic Architecture. Firstly, the concept of the symbol and the image effect are essentially based on the meaning that the activity of consciousness take on the constitution of the symbol. Therefore the image represent the deepest content of human nature has been imagination and reality. Secondly, the symbol concept showed in Gothic Architecture was associated with the passion of the order of middle ages. The world, the cosmos and the history had been revealed in Gothic architecture. In Gothic Image, Emile Male maintained the symbol of the Catholic Church as above mentioned. The Catholic Church was mirror of the natural, the institution, the moral and history, then this passion of the order was a christian order. Especially, E. Panofsky said that the scholastic method was shown in Gothic architecture. He assert that it was especially dialectic method used in theology. That is, he explained the transfiguration of Gothic Architecture with the process of thesis, anti-thesis, synthesis. These symbolize light, magnitude, clearness. Finally, symbolic image is important in Post-Modem architecture at present. Post-Modern architecture is associated with the public and the Pluralism. Post-Modern architecture attempt to communicate as symbolic language among the assumption for diverse aspect of culture.

Theatricals have been with human's history for a long time. And It is also receiving a lot of love in modern times. The stage is recognized another space of time by spectators during the play and the production actualize fictional world by using all destination things on the stage. Therefore, the design of the stage has symbolism and the production needs semiological. The Elements expressed through the stage is composed of stage equipment, costume, lighting, stage effects and the production needs light, sound and costume designers, a stage manager, grips an advertising director for the play. The study analysis on symbolic image on the view of semigical with focused on "Vishnvovvi sad" of Anton Chekhov. The details of the study are symbolism of stage effect and costume, lighting, stage equipment. Furthermore, The study analyze way to symbolic Express korean characteristics and This research is an excellent source for students who are studying the semilogical analysis of stage.
