This paper proposes a sound multicast packet-switching method which can less affect QoS degradation. The method includes a switch fabric with extra switching paths dedicated for multicast packets. Presented also are both a buffering structure and a scheduling algorithm for the proposed method. Simulation analysis for the method shows that the switching delay of unicast packets is decreased even though arrival rate of multicast packets is increased.

본 논문은 고성능 공통 입력버퍼를 가지는 패킷 스위치 패브릭을 위한 새로운 3차원 라운드로빈 스케줄러에 관한 연구이다. 본 논문에서 제안된 스케줄러는 각 입력 버퍼에서 각 출력 큐를 독립적으로 관리하는 분산형 공통 버퍼를 가지는 스위치 패브릭구조에서 고속으로 동작하는 스케줄러이다. 제안된 스케줄러는 M 개의 각 공통 입력 버퍼가 K개의 입력 및 출력 포트를 가지고 N 개의 가상 출력 큐를 관리하고 $K\geq$M (K$\leq$M)일 때 매 K(M) 사이클 마다 MxK 개의 가상 출력 큐들이 목적 출력포트로 패킷을 전송할 수 있도록 스케줄링한다. 대량 병렬 스케줄링 구조를 이용하여 대용량의 스위칭 포트를 가지는 고성능 스위치 패브릭에의 고속 응용을 지원한다.

광대역 종합 정보 통신망에서 주문형 비디오 시스템과 같은 분산 형태의 서비스에 대한 요구가 증대될 것으로 기대되기 때문에 멀티캐스트 기능의 효과적인 구현이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 완전 결합형 ATM 스위치의 멀티캐스트 성능 특성에 대하여 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 대상 교호나기 구조는 소규모 스위치 요소에 적절한 구조로서 주소 기법으로 비트 주소 방법을 사용하기 때문에 별도의 기능 블록의 추가 없이 멀티캐스트 기능을 구현하기가 용이하다. ATM망에서 트래픽의 버스티니스 특성을 반영하기 위하여 입력 트래픽 모델로 IBP(Interrupted Bernoulli Process)를 사용하였다. 스위치의 멀티캐스트 운영 측면에서의 모의실험 결과를 제시하고 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통하여, 멀티캐스트로 인하여 발생하는 과부하 시점을 찾아 트래픽 제어 기법을 적절히 사용하면 망의 폭주 방지가 가능한 것으로 분석되었다.

Nowadays, global interest is being placed on research and development of smart clothing which is expected to create a high added-value industry in the future. The purpose of this research is to develop smart pants with vibrating massage functions that have excellent outer appearances and provide comfort to wearers and assess outer appearance, comfort, and massaging effects of smart pants. As the results of this research, smart pants where vibrating devices which are mainly composed of vibrating motor, controller, and switch are attached were completed. Vibrating motors were fixed on a thin and light non-woven fabric material, covered with a mesh material, and attached by snaps to the experiment pants. Switch was attached to the inside of a pocket, and batteries were positioned inside of pockets. Ten subjects marked their satisfaction of wearing smart pants on a 5-point scale. Noticeable changes in outer appearance when vibrating motors operate turned out to be low. Wearer's comfort in back waist and front thigh parts where vibrating motors were attached turned out to be high-satisfied. Massaging effects of smart pants turned out to be high. Attaching and detaching vibrating devices turned out to be convenient. Lining materials used for smart paints were effective in blocking electromagnetic waves generated from vibrating devices.

최근의 광 가입자 정합모듈은 매우 빠른 속도로 출현되는 다양한 서비스를 쉽고, 효율적으로 수용하기 위해 고성능의 상용 네트워크 프로세서 칩을 대부분 사용하고 있다. 지금까지 많은 밴더들이 2.5Gbps급 네트워크 프로세서를 상용화하였지만, IBM NP4GS3만 2.SGbps 이상의 우수한 패킷 처리성능을 지원한다. 그러나 IBM NP4GS3는 스위치 인터페이스로 고속 DASL(Data-Aligned Synchronous Link) 인터페이스를 사용하기 때문에, NP Forum에 의해 표준화된 CSIX-Ll인터페이스를 사용하는 스위치 패브릭과는 정합할 수가 없다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 IBM NP4GS3를 이용한 광 가입자 정합모듈이 표준화된 스위치 패브릭과 효율적으로 정합할 수 있도록 IBM 상용 UDASL칩과 UTOPIA-L3와 CSIX-Ll인터페이스를 상호 변환하는 FPGA를 이용한 연동 구조 및 패킷 제어방법에 대해 고찰해본다.

광회선 분배 시스템(OXC)은 전광통신망(Optical Transport Network)에서 광신호 간 연결을 원격으로 설정해 줄 수 있는 노드(Optical Network Element)이다. OXC는 다수의 입력/출력 링크를 가지며 하나의 입력/출력 링크에는 다수의 파장 다중된 광신호 채널이 존재한다. OXC는 하나의 입력 링크를 통하여 입력되는 다수의 파장 채널을 서로 다른 출력 링크로 연결해 주거나, 다수의 입력 링크로부터 입력되는 파장채널을 하나의 출력 링크로 연곁해 줄 수 있는 optical grooming 기능을 수행한다. 또한 자국에서 광신호를 Add/Drop할 수 있는 기능을 가질 수 있다. (중략)

Multistage interconnection networks (MINs) have been recognized as an efficient interconnection network for high-performance computer systems and also have been recently identified to be effective for a switching fabric of new communication structures - gigabit ethernet switch, terabit router, and ATM (asynchronous transfer mode). While lots of models analyzing the performance of MINs have been proposed, they are either inaccurate or, even if accurate, very complex for the analysis. In this paper, we propose an extremely simple mode for evaluating the multibuffered MIN with small clock cycles based on the approximation approach. Comprehensive computer simulation shows that the proposed model is very accurate in terms of the throughput and mean delay. Furthermore, it significantly reduces the computing overhead due to its simplicity.

본 OTH 스위치패브릭 구성방안은 OTN 망에서 다양한 클라이언트 신호를 수용하기 위한 요구사항을 기반으로 소용량에서부터 320G급 이상의 대용량까지 차세대 전송망에서 다양한 기능과 경쟁력을 갖추기 위한 OTH 스위치패브릭 구성방안을 고찰하였다. OTH 망에서 리던던시 구조 및 입출력 포트 요구조건의 설정에 따라 망 구성 및 시스템 설계를 할 수 있도록 스위치패브릭을 구성하는 방안을 제시하였다. 본 고에서는 최근 시스템 플랫폼의 세계 추세로 적용되고 있는 Advanced TCA 기반으로 백플레인 구성방법에 따라 가능한 구조를 고찰하였으며, Advanced TCA 플랫폼 및 이와 경쟁 가능한 동등 이상의 플랫폼 기반에서 적용 가능하다.

통신처리시스템(Communication Processing System)은 전화망과 ISDN 가입자들에게 전국 규모의 PC 통신 및 인터넷 액세스를 가능하게 하기 위한 망정합 장치이며, 동시에 관련 서비스 관리 기능과 같은 통신처리 서비스를 제공하는 시스템이다. 그러나 다수의 PC 통신과 인터넷 서비스 제공자들이 등장함으로써 가입자들에게 이러한 복수의 서비스 제공자 시스템으로의 동등 서비스 접속 기능을 제공하기 위해서는 시스템 내부에 고속 Switching Fabric을 통한 스위칭 기능 및 서비스 제공자에 대한 선택 기능이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 통신처리시스템의 시스템 구성 개요 및 사용자들에게 서비스 선택 기능을 신축적으로 제공하기 위한 내부 스위치를 사용함으로써 1200 채널 규모의 PC 통신 및 인터넷 액세스 서비스 기능을 제공하는 시스템의 설계 및 구현내용을 중심으로 기술한다. 또한 시스템의 성능 및 용량 설계를 위한 LAN 스위치의 설계 모델, 기능적 요구사항, 그리고 설계 및 구현 내용에 대해 기술한다.
