Maxillary Posterior Crossbite Appliance의 적용시 응력 분포에 관한 광탄성법적 연구 (Photoelastic evaluation of Maxillary Posterior Crossbite Appliance)

  • 본 연구는 협측 이소맹출된 상악 제2대구치의 협측 반대교합을 개선하기 위해 사용되는 maxillary posterior crossbite appliance에 의해 상악 제2대구치의 치근단과 그 주위의 치조골에 발생되는 응력분포를 알아보기 위해 광탄성법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 상악의 치조골을 재현하기 위해 PL-3형의 epoxy resin과 PL-3보다 경질인 레진치아를 사용하여 협측 이소맹출된 상악 제2대구치를 광탄성모형으로 재현하였다. 광탄성 모형상에 maxillary posterior crossbite appliance를 적용하고 힘을 가하기 전과후의 응력분포를 알아보기 위해 원형편광기를 사용하여 모형의 전후방에서 관찰하였다. 이상의 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 상악 제2대구치의 구개면에 힘을 가한 경우, 협측과 구개측 치근첨에는 무늬차수 0.6차와 치경부에는 무늬차수 0.9차의 응력이 집중이 되어 나타났고 회전중심이 구개측 치근은 치근첨에, 협측 치근은 치근 1/4부위에 발생하였으며 이로 인해 제2대구치에 구개측으로의 비조절성 경사이동 및 회전력이 발생하였다. 2. 상악 제2대구치의 협측면에 힘을 가한 경우에는 구개면에 힘을 가한 경우 보다 협측과 구개측의 치근첨에 더 많은 무늬차수 2.2차의 응력이 발생하였다. 또한 치근하방의 치조골 부위에 응력의 발생과 함께 구개측 치근의 회전중심은 사라지고 협측 치근은 치근첨으로 이동하여 이로 인해 구개측으로의 조절성 경사이동 및 함입력이 발생하였다. 3. 상악 제2대구치의 협측이나 설측에 힘을 가한 경우, 고정원인 제1대구치는 치근첨부위에 소량의 응력이 발생하였고, 편측의 제2대구치에만 힘을 가한 경우보다 양측의 제2대구치에 동시에 힘을 가한 경우에서 더 많은 양의 응력이 제1대구치에 발생하였다. 이상의 결과는 협측 이소맹출된 상악 제2대구치의 구치부 협측 반대교합을 개선하기 위해 사용되는 maxillary posterior crossbite appliance를 적용할 때, 제1대구치의 고정원 상실을 최소화하기 위해서는 편측의 제2대구치를 먼저 개선시키고 그 후 반대측 제2대구치의 개선을 도모하는 것이 바람직하다는 것을 의미한다. 또한 구개측면보다는 협측면에서 견인력을 가하여 제2대구치에 함입력과 구개측으로의 조절성 경사이동을 발생시키는 것이 구치의 정출 및 회전에 의해 야기될 수 있는 교합장애를 방지할 수 있으리라 사료된다.

  • Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) is an undulatory nematode which exhibits two distinct locomotion types of swimming and crawling. Although in its natural habitat C. elegans lives in a non-Newtonian fluidic environment, our current understanding has been limited to the behavior of C. elegans in a simple Newtonian fluid. Here, we present some experimental results on the penetrating behavior of C. elegans at the interface from liquid to solid environment. Once C. elegans, which otherwise swims freely in a liquid, makes a contact to the solid gel boundary, it begins to penetrate vertically to the surface by changing its stroke motion characterized by a stiffer body shape and a slow stroke frequency. The particle image velocimetry (PIV) analysis reveals the flow streamlines produced by the stroke of worm. For the worm that crawls on a solid surface, we utilize a technique of traction force microscopy (TFM) to find that the crawling nematode forms localized force islands along the body where makes direct contacts to the gel surface.

  • 본 연구는 설측 이소맹출된 하악 제2대구치의 협측 반대교합을 개선하기 위해 사용되는 mandibular posterior crossbite appliance에 의해 하악 제2대구치의 치근단과 그 주위의 치조골에 발생되는 응력분포를 알아보기 위해 광탄성법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 하악의 치조골을 재현하기 위해 PL-3 형의 epoxy resin과 PL-3 보다 경질인 레진치아를 사용하여 설측 이소맹출된 하악 제2대구치를 광탄성모형으로 재현하였다. 광탄성 모현상에 mandibular posterior crossbite appliance를 적용하고 힘을 가하기 전과후의 응력 분포를 알아보기 위해 원형편광기 를 사용하여 모형의 전후방에서 관찰하였다. 이상의 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 하악 제2대구치의 협측면에 힘을 가한 경우, 설측 치조정과 치근첨 부위에 응력이 집중되어 나타났고 회전중심이 치근 협측면의 중간 1/3부위와 치근첨 부위에 발생하였으며 이로 인해 제 2대구치에 협측으로의 비조절성 경사이동 및 회전력이 발생하였다. 2. 하악 제2대구치의 설측면에 힘을 가한 경우에는 협측면에 힘을 가한 경우 보다 치근첨에 더 많은 응력이 발생하였다. 또한 치근하방의 치조골 부위에 응력이 증가하였으며 치근의 협측면과 치근첨 부위의 회전중심도 없어져 이로 인한 협측으로의 조절성 경사 이동 및 함입력이 관찰되었다. 3. 하악 제2대구치의 협측이나 설측에 힘을 가한 경우, 고정원인 제1대구치의 치근첨 부위는 힘을 가하기 전의 초기 응력상태와 비교할 때 응력의 증가는 보이지 않아 구치부 협측 반대 교합의 개선시 하악의 설측 호선은 효과적인 고정원으로 사용될 수 있다. 이상의 연구 결과는 설측 이소맹출된 하악 제2대구치의 구치부 협측 반대교합을 개선하기 위해 사용되는 mandibular posterior crossbite appliance를 적용할 때, 제2대구치의 협측면보다는 설측면에서 힘을 부여하는 것이 교합장애를 야기시킬 수 있는 비조절성 경사이동과 구치의 회전을 피하면서 협측으로의 조절성 경사이동 및 함입력을 적용시킬 수 있음을 의미한다.

  • The techniques of joint mobilization and traction are used to improve joint mobility or to decrease pain by restoring accessory movements to the shoulder joints and thus allowing full, nonrestriced, pain-free range of motion. In the glenohumeral joint, the humeral head would be the convex surface, while the glenoid fossa would be the concave surface. The medial end of the clavicle is concave anterioposteriorly and convex superioinferiorly, the articular surface of the sternum is reciprocally curved. The acromioclavicular joint is a plane synovial joint between a small convex facet on lateral end of the clavicle and a small concave facet on the acromion of the scapula. The relationship between the shape of articulating joint surface and the direction of gliding is defined by the convex-concave rule. If the concave joint surface is moving on a stationary convex surface, gliding occur in the same direction as the rolling motion. If the convex surface is moving on a stationary concave surface, gliding will occur in an opposite direction to rolling. Hypomobile shoulder joint are treated be using a gliding technique.

Application of cohesive zone model to large scale circumferential through-wall and 360° surface cracked pipes under static and dynamic loadings

  • This paper presents ductile fracture simulation of full-scale cracked pipe for nuclear piping materials using the cohesive zone model (CZM). The main objective of this study is to investigate the applicability of CZM to predict ductile fracture of cracked pipes with various crack shapes and under quasi-static/dynamic loadings. The transferability of the traction-separation (T-S) curve from a small-scale specimen to a full-scale pipe is demonstrated by simulating small- and full-scale tests. T-S curves are calibrated by comparing experimental data of compact tension specimens with finite element analysis results. The calibrated T-S curves are utilized to predict the fracture behavior of cracked pipes. Three types of full-scale pipe tests are considered: pipe with circumferential through-wall crack under quasistatic/dynamic loadings, and with 360° internal surface crack under quasi-static loading. Computational results using the calibrated T-S curves show a good agreement with experimental data, demonstrating the transferability of the T-S curves from small-scale specimen.

3차원 솔리드 요소를 이용한 용접부 핫스팟 응력 계산에 대한 연구 (Study on Hot Spot Stress Calculation for Welded Joints using 3D Solid Finite Elements)

  • Because of the high stress concentration near the toe of a welded joint, the calculation of local stress using the finite element method which is relevant to the fatigue strength of the weld toe crack, is a challenging task. This is mainly caused by the sensitivity of finite element analysis, which usually occurs near the area of a dramatically changing stress field. This paper presents a novel numerical method through which a less mesh-sensitive local stress calculation can be achieved based on the 3D solid finite element, strictly sticking to the original definition of hot spot stress. In order to achieve the goal, a traction stress, defined at 0.5t and 1.5t away from the weld toe, was calculated using either a force-equivalent or work-equivalent approach, both of which are based on the internal nodal forces on the imaginary cut planes. In the force-equivalent approach, the traction stress on the imaginary cut plane was calculated using the simple force and moment equilibrium, whereas the equivalence of the work done by both the nodal forces and linearized traction stress was employed in the work-equivalent approach. In order to confirm the validity of the proposed method, five typical welded joints widely used in ships and offshore structures were analyzed using five different solid element types and four different mesh sizes. Finally, the performance of the proposed method was compared with that of the traditionally used surface stress extrapolation method. It turned out that the sensitivity of the hot spot stress for the analyzed typical welded joints obtained from the proposed method outperformed the traditional extrapolation method by far.

  • Agricultural tractors drive and operate both off-road and on-road. Tire-road interaction significantly affects the tractive performance of a tractor, which is difficult to predict numerically. Many empirical models have been developed to predict the tractive performance of tractors using the cone index, which can be measured through simple tests. However, a magic formula model that can determine the tractive performance without a cone index can be used instead of traditional empirical models as the cone index cannot be measured on asphalt roads. The aim of this study was to predict the tractive performance of a tractor using the magic formula tire model. The traction force of the tires on an asphalt road was measured using an agricultural tractor. The dynamic wheel load was calculated to derive the coefficients of the traction-slip curve using the measured static wheel load and drawbar pull of the tractor. Curve fitting was performed to fit the experimental data using the magic formula. The parameters of the magic formula tire model were well identified, and the model successfully determined the coefficient of traction of the tractor.

  • A number of variables and environment are concerned for the basic design of train. The design of train ran be optimized by the ruining simulation. And using the simulation result the consuming energy, regenerating power, adhesion coefficient, train traction control capacity are respectable. Considering these variables and for more information operating time, operating period, standard velocity and limit speed, the all factors of train are optimized. The light-tail tram is mainly divided into linear motor train, road surface train, iron wheel train and rubber tire train, and the most profitable one for adhesion coefficient is rubber tire train and the train will be designed.

  • The braking system of train must posses the large baking effort in order to stop the train safety within the limited traveling distance. but, the excessive braking effort has been deteriorated the ride comfort due to high level of deceleration and jerk, and sometimes occurred the skid. because the applied braking force exceeds the allowable adhesive force. this skid causes not only to increase the a stopping distance but also to deteriorate the safety of train and damage the rall surface by wheel flat. In the present paper, braking force for disk brake of Tilting Train eXpress(TTX) was measured though on convention line test and the traction force was estimated by using the analytic model in skid condition. also, we have discussed the relationship between the bake force and traction force in starting condition.

외주에 균일한 압축을 받는 두꺼운 복합원관의 분지거동 (Bifurcation Behaviours of Composite Tubes With Two Different Materials Subjected To Uniform Radial Shrinkage At The External Surface)

  • Nonaxisymmetric bifurcation behaviours of composite tubes two different materials subjected to uniform radial shrinkage at the external surface have been investigated and compared with those of single tube. The effect of material parameters normalized with respect to those of outer tube upon the bifurcation point and corresponding mode has been clarified. The parameters substantially affect the bifurcation mode with long-wavelength so that the composite tube with low hardening exponent or with high yield stress of inner tube destabilizes the overall deformation of the tube. However surface type bifurcation, short-wavelength mode, shown on the traction-free inner surface is hardly affected by the material parameters. The surface type bifurcation completely depends on the material characteristics of inner tube and the bifurcation point of composite tube almost coincides with the of single tube.
