Among a number of methodologies for developing groundwater supply to overcome drought events reported in the research community, an accurate estimation of the groundwater level is an important initial issue to provide an efficient method for operating groundwater. The primary objective of this paper is to develop an advanced prediction model for the groundwater level in the catchment area of the Ssangcheon groundwater dam using precipitation based period dividing algorithm and response surface methodology (RSM). A numerical example clearly shows that the proposed method can effectively forecast groundwater level in terms of correlation coefficient ($R^2$) in the upstream part of the Ssangcheon groundwater dam.

This paper described the results of the characteristics of the near-bottom flow and field analysis of the tidal flats sediment. It was the aim of this paper to grasp current flow of tidal flat's environment and influence factor for environmental change forecast of tidal flats. Field measurement of water velocity, water elevation, bed materials test, and temperature distribution of tidal flat were conducted. Thereafter, current flow, turbidity and temperature distribution of tidal flat sediment have been discussed. The field research results showed that the fluctuating velocity near the seabed before and after its appearance at low tide was strongly affected by the wind wave. The resuspension of the sea-bottom sediment took place with great intensity before and after the appearance of the seabed at low tide. Both the sea water level and the weather condition were a significant influential factors. Such as, temperature and turbidity just on the surface and the shallow layer of seabed sediments were varied largely with time and weather conditions, but that its deeper layers was almost constant. Temperature on the seabed sediments was strongly influenced by irradiance and water depth. The temperature variation of the tidal flat and the variation characteristics of the current flow and turbidity depend greatly on the inhabiting environment of the tidal flat benthic organism.
As a key component of lighting location system (LLS) for lightning warning, the atmospheric electric field measuring is required to have high accuracy. The Conventional methods of the existent electric field measurement meter can only detect the vertical component of the atmospheric electric field, which cannot acquire the realistic electric field in the thunderstorm. This paper proposed a three dimensional (3D) electric field system for atmospheric electric field measurement, which is capable of three orthogonal directions in X, Y, Z, measuring. By analyzing the relationship between the electric field and the relative permittivity of ground surface, the permittivity is calculated, and an efficiency 3D measurement model is derived. On this basis, a three-dimensional electric field sensor and a permittivity sensor are adopted to detect the spatial electric field. Moreover, the elevation and azimuth of the detected target are calculated, which reveal the location information of the target. Experimental results show that the proposed 3D electric field meter has satisfactory sensitivity to the three components of electric field. Additionally, several observation results in the fair and thunderstorm weather have been presented.
The aging diagnosis technique using partial discharge detection method detects partial discharge signals cause of power equipment failuer and able to forecast the aging state of insulation system through analysis algorithm, in this paper accumulates HFPD signal during constant scheduled cycles to build HFPD pattern and then analyzes HFPD pattern using statistical parameters and ${\Delta}F$ pattern. The 3D pattern is composed of detected signal frequency, amplitude and repeated number and the FRPDA(frequency resolved partial discharge analysis) technique is used in 3D pattern construction. The ${\Delta}F$ pattern shows variation characteristics of amplitude gradient of consecutive HFPD signal Pulses and able to classify discharge types-internal discharge, surface discharge and coronal discharge etc. Fractal mathematics applied to ${\Delta}F$ pattern quantification and neural networks is used in aging diagnostic algorithm.

On the basis of the Computational Fluid Dynamics technique (CFD) combined with the overlap grid method, this paper establishes a numerical simulation method to study the problem of ice-propeller interaction in viscous flow and carries out a simulation forecast of the hydrodynamic performance of an ice-class propeller and flow characteristics when in the proximity of milling-shape ice (i.e., an ice block with a groove cut by a high-speed revolving propeller). We use a trimmed mesh in the entire calculation domain and use the overlap grid method to transfer information between the domains of propeller rotation calculation and ice-surface computing. The grid is refined in the narrow gap between the ice and propeller to ensure the accuracy of the flow field. Comparison with the results of the experiment reveals that the error of the hydrodynamic performance is within 5%. This confirms the feasibility of the calculation method. In this paper, we calculate the exciting force of the propeller, analyze the time domain of the exciting force, and obtain the curve of the frequency domain using a Fourier transform of the time-domain curve of the exciting force. The existence of milling-shape ice before the propeller can greatly disturb the wake flow field. Unlike in open water, the propeller bearing capacity shows a downward trend in three stages, and fluctuating pressure is more disordered near the ice.
Uncertainties in geomechanical input parameters which mainly related to inappropriate data acquisition and estimation due to lack of sufficient calibration information, have led wellbore instability not yet to be fully understood or addressed. This paper demonstrates a workflow of employing Quantitative Risk Assessment technique, considering these uncertainties in terms of rock properties, pore pressure and in-situ stresses to makes it possible to survey not just the likelihood of accomplishing a desired level of wellbore stability at a specific mud pressure, but also the influence of the uncertainty in each input parameter on the wellbore stability. This probabilistic methodology in conjunction with Monte Carlo numerical modeling techniques was applied to a case study of a well. The response surfaces analysis provides a measure of the effects of uncertainties in each input parameter on the predicted mud pressure from three widely used failure criteria, thereby provides a key measurement for data acquisition in the future wells to reduce the uncertainty. The results pointed out that the mud pressure is tremendously sensitive to UCS and SHmax which emphasize the significance of reliable determinations of these two parameters for safe drilling. On the other hand, the predicted safe mud window from Mogi-Coulomb is the widest while the Hoek-Brown is the narrowest and comparing the anticipated collapse failures from the failure criteria and breakouts observations from caliper data, indicates that Hoek-Brown overestimate the minimum mud weight to avoid breakouts while Mogi-Coulomb criterion give better forecast according to real observations.
Analysis of geological data, relating to occurrence and formation of diamonds as well as host rocks, inclined author to have different outlook on the diamond genesis and to establish a proposition on their formation at pneumatolytic-hydrothermal conditions near superficial Earth zones. Based on that theoretical foundations and experimental works, the first low-pressure and low-temperature hydrothermal diamond synthesis from water solution in pressure autoclave was executed. As a result, the natural diamond seed crystal grew bigger ad coupling of the synthetic diamond single-crystalline grains were obtained. SEM documentation proofs that parallely paragenetic crystallization of quartz and diamond, and nucleation of new octahedral diamond crystals brush take place on the seed crystal surface. Forecast of none times growth of diamond industrial application at 2000 and seventeen times at 2010 with reference to 1995, needs technology of large and pure single-crystals diamond synthesis. Growth of the stable and destressed diamond single-crystals in the pseudo-metastable diamond plot, may be realized with processes going through the long time and with participation of free radicals catalysts admixtures only. Sol-gel colloidal processes are an example of environment which form stable crystals in thermodynamically unstable conditions through a long time. Paper critically discusses a whole way of studies on the diamond synthesis, from high-pressure and high-temperature processes through chemical vapour deposition up to hydrothermal experiments.

This study develops and evaluates a deep learning model for predicting oxide and nitride layers based on plasma process data. We introduce a novel deep learning-based Varying Coefficient Regressor (VCR) by adapting the VCR, which previously relied on an existing unique function. This model is employed to forecast the oxide and nitride layers within the plasma. Through comparative experiments, the proposed VCR-based model exhibits superior performance compared to Long Short-Term Memory, Random Forest, and other methods, showcasing its excellence in predicting time series data. This study indicates the potential for advancing prediction models through deep learning in the domain of plasma processing and highlights its application prospects in industrial settings.
Radiosonde is an important in-situ profiling instrument that measures atmospheric temperature, moisture, and wind structure from the surface to the middle stratosphere. The operational radiosonde measurements are carried out more than twice (at 0000 UTC and 1200 UTC) daily at approximately 1,300 World Meteorological Organization (WMO) stations and play a pivotal role in daily weather forecasts. It also contributes to the monitoring of atmospheric structure by providing the key physical information like temperature and pressure, forming the backbone of atmospheric (re)analyses and numerical weather forecasts. Additionally, high-resolution radiosonde profiles are used for calibration and evaluation of satellite products. Despite these advantages, radiosonde measurements are mostly limited to operational uses due to the high initial cost of ground instrument setup required for data transmission and reception. This study outlines a cost-effective (roughly one-tenth of the operational cost) method for establishing the ground station and the necessary radiosonde measurement procedures, offering guidance for individual researchers or university-level instructors.
