High speed wire seam weldability of tin coated thin gage sheet steels was investigated. Thickness and coating weight ranges of the test materials were 0.21~0.35mm and 1.1/1.1~2.8/11.2g/$m^2$, respectively. Test results indicated that the surface roughness value, Rz decreased as increasing the coating weight. The Rz was thought to be one of the important factors to influence the optimum welding condition range, $\triangle$Q. The $\triangle$Q showed close relationship with welding conditions such as welding pressure and travel speed. Higher welding pressure widened the $\triangle$Q while higher travel speed reduced the $\triangle$Q value. Results also demonstrated that tin coating weight should be optimized based on the weldability or the serviceability after welding. At th HAZ of sheet materials with thinner coating layer, tin depleted zone was produced since molten film of the coating material on the base metal agglomerated by the surface tension, which could result in reducing the corrosion resistance of the HAZ in the service environment.
Sink roll has been used in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy bath of continuous galvanizing line in sinking and stabilizing process of the steel strip in molten metal bath. In this process, although the scraper scraps off the sink roll surface, the dross compounds is builded up on the sink roll surface and the life time of the sink roll is shorten by the dross compounds. The present study was investigated the application of the spray coating layer on sink roll body for improving durability In molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy. Through the durability tests in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy with various ceramic and cermet coating layer, the optimum bond and top coating material was obtained. As the results, the system of STS430F base metal, WC-l7Co bond and $ZrO_2-SiO_2$ top coating was clarified to be the best quality of durability in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy.

The purpose of AR and HR coating is acquire the very low reflection rate and the high reflection rate through the deposition of a thin film using the refraction ofmaterial. Basically if the high refractive material and the low refractive material are chosen and the condition for the experiment is determined, then we solve theproject with the optical design and multi thin film coating. First of all, we choose $SiO_2$for the low refractive material and $TiO_2$ for the high refractive material and apply Sputtering System easy to control the refraction rate and excellent in reconstruction to the equipment of thin film multiplication. For the control of the refraction rate and growth rate we modify RF Power and the ratio of Gas(Ar:O2), And we use Ellipsometer for estimation and analysis of the refraction rate and growth rate and AFM&SEM for the analysis of surface and component.
Using the mechanical treatments for mechanical properties improvement was rarely in the development scope before. This research approves through analytical ways that surface impacts can improve the quality of the surface significantly. This fact is approved for deposited titanium on silicone substrate. The new algorithm called minimum resultant error method (MREM) which is a direct combination of nanoindentation, FEM and dimensional analysis through a reverse method is utilized to extract the mechanical characteristics of the coating surface before and after impact. This method is extended to the time dependent behavior of the material to obtain strain rate coefficient. To implement this new approach, a new analysis technic is developed to define the residual stress field caused by surface impact as initial condition for nanoindentation. Analyzing the model in micro and macro scale at the same time was one of the main resolved challenges in this study. The result was obtaining of the constants of Johnson-Cook constitutive equation. Comparing the characteristics of the coating surface before and after impact shows high improvement in yield stress (34%), Elastic modulus (7.75%) and strain hardening coefficient (2.8%). The main achievement is that the strength improvement in titanium thin layer is much higher than bulk titanium. The yield strength shows 41.7% improvement for coated titanium comparing with 24% for bulk material. The rate of enhancement is about 6 times when it comes to the Young's modulus.
Purpose: This study compared the surface hardness (Vickers) and microstructural characteristics between a type IV stone with and without die hardening treatment, a polyurethane die material. Methods: Materials used were a type IV stone(MG Crystal Rock), two die hardeners (Hardening bath, Epox-it), and a polyurethane resin material(Polyluck). Six specimens per group were prepared according to manufacturer's directions. The prepared specimens were tested by means of hardness test, one-way ANOVA analysis, scanning electron microscopic(SEM) observations and energy dispersive spectroscopic(EDS) analysis. Results: In the hardness test and its statistical analysis, there was no significant difference in the surface hardness between a type IV stone and type IV stone with die hardener coating, type IV stone mixed with an epoxy like material instead of water. In contrast, polyurethane resin material exhibited significantly greater surface hardness than other specimen groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: By considering the results of the hardness test, SEM observations and EDS analysis, although the die hardeners on type IV stone did not show remarkable improvement in surface hardness, the die hardener coating on the surface of type IV stone material did show decrease of microporous and improvement of surface defects.

Indium tin oxide (ITO) used a transparent electrode of a photoelectric device has a low sheet resistance and a high transmittance. However, ITO is disadvantageous in that the process cost is expensive, and the process time is long. Silver nanowires (AgNWs) transparent electrodes are based on a low cost solution process. In addition, it has attracted attention as a next-generation transparent electrode material that replaces ITO because it has similar electrical and optical characteristic to ITO, it is noted as a. AgNW thin films are mainly produced by spin-coating. However, the spin-coating process has a disadvantage of high material loss. In this study, the material loss was reduced by using about 2~10 ㎕ of AgNW solution on a (25 × 25) ㎟ substrate using the shear-coating method. It was also possible to align AgNWs in the drag direction by dragging the meniscus of the solution. The electro-optical properties of the AgNW thin film were adjusted by changing the experimental parameters that the amount of AgNWs suspension, the gap between the substrate and the blade, and the coating speed. As a result, AgNW thin films with a transmittance of 90.7 % at a wavelength of 550 nm and a sheet resistance of 15 Ω/□ was deposited and exhibited similar properties to similar AgNW transparent electrodes studied by other researchers.
The electrochemical and thermal stability of $LiNi_{0.8}Co_{0.16}Al_{0.04}O_2$ were studied before and after $Co_3(PO_4)_2$ coating. Different to conventional coating material such as $ZrO_2$ or AlPO4, the coating layer was not detected clearly by TEM analysis, indicating that the $Co_3(PO_4)_2$ nanoparticles effectively reacted with surface impurities such as $Li_2CO_3$. The coated sample showed similar capacity at a low C rate condition. However, the rate capability was significantly improved by the coating effect. It is associated with a decrease of impedance after coating because impedance can act as a major barrier for overall cell performances in high C rate cycling. In the DSC profile of the charged sample, exothermic peaks were shifted to high temperatures and heat generation was reduced after coating, indicating the thermal reaction between electrode and electrolyte was sucessfully suppressed by $Co_3(PO_4)_2$ nanoparticle coating.

The characteristics of the high-performance ceramic coatings fabricated on the optimum processings con-ditions for the atmospheric plasma spraying are evaluated by various material tests and analyses. The opti-mum processing parameters for the plasma spraying are determined by using the two-level orthogonal arrays of fractional factorial testing method as a statistical approach. Material tests for the coating specimens are carried out to evaluate microstructure, hardness, adhesion strength, and deposition efficiency. The properties of Al2O3-13%TiO2 coating are discussed with regard to the effective processings parameters. The decarburization effects of WC-12%Co coating is examined by XRD analysis in terms of the arc power and the secondary gas species. The hardness of Al2O2-13%TiO2 coating is increased with the arc power and shows the maximum value at around 40 lpm of Ar gas flowrate, which appears to be the most critical parame-ter on the deposition efficiency. For reducing the decarburization of WC-12%Co coating, the injection of inert He gas instead of reactive H2 gas as a secondary gas is more effective than the dropping of arc power to lessen the plasma enthalpy.

The optical memory devices of BST thin films to composite $(Ba_{0.7}\;Sr_{0.3})TiO_{3}$ using sol-gel method were fabricated by changing of the depositing layer number on $Pt/Ti/SiO_{2}/Si$ substrate. The structural properties of optical memory devices to be ferroelectric was investigated by fractal analysis and 3-dimension image processing. The thickness of BST thin films at each coating numbers 3, 4 and 5 times was $2500[\AA]$, $3500[\AA]$ and $3800[\AA]$. BST thin films exhibited the most pronounced grain growth. The surface morphology image was roughness with coating numbers. The thin films increasing with coating numbers shows a more textured and complex configuration.
