The vibration characteristics of the pad fluttering in a fluid film tilting pad journal bearing (4-pad LBP) have been investigated experimentally under the different values of oil supply flow rate, bearing load and shaft speed. The vibration characteristics of the pad fluttering are estimated by measuring the time signal of circumferential distribution of the film thickness and the cascade plot of the response of the relative displacement between the bearing and the shaft. It is shown that the vibration frequency of the pad fluttering has a sub-synchronous frequency and almost does not change by the increase of shaft speed. However the vibration amplitude is increased by the increase of shaft speed. From those experimental results, pad fluttering can be thought of as a self-excited vibration. The incipient pad fluttering velocity is increased by the increase of oil supply flow rate and by the decrease of bearing load. It is observed that the vibration amplitude of the pad fluttering can be decrease by the control of supply oil flow rate effectively. And also It is known that the outbreak of pad fluttering does not concern with the shaft vibration.
As part of the "Carbon free Island 2030" policy, the local government of Jeju Island is currently working to reduce carbon through renewable energy supply. However, renewable energy is difficult to predict due to intermittent characteristics. If the share of renewable energy increase, it is difficult to plan of supply of electricity to grid due to that characteristic of renewable. In this paper analyze the fluctuation rate and the capacity credit of wind power and PV to find out how much wind power and PV contribute to supply of electricity of power system in Jeju. As a result mean value of variation rate of wind power and PV is about 3%, 5% and capacity credit is about 10% and 2% respectively.

Capacitor Charging Power Supply(CCPS) is one of the most important components of a pulsed power system. The CCPS is widely used in source of lasers, accelerators and plasma generators. This paper presents design of a dead time control circuit and operation characteristics for stable high repetition rate of high voltage CCPS. The CCPS consists of battery, high voltage transformer and controller with a dead time control circuit. A dead time control circuit was simulated by PSpice. The performance test of the CCPS was carried out with a 7[nF] load capacitor at output voltage of 50[kV] and a pulse repetition frequency of 100[Hz]. As a result, we can verify that charging and discharging waveform is stable at 100[Hz]. The experiment results indicate that 3[ms] dead time made it possible for stable high repetition rate of 100[Hz]. This paper paves the way for designing an advanced CCPS which is more applicable outside experiments.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the cooling energy saving effects of CRAH supply air temperature(SAT) and design flow rate changes when applying air-side economizer in the data center. MLC(Mechanical Load Component), which is cooling performance indicator of data center, was used to assess the effectiveness of cooling energy savings. It was computed with energy simulation (DesignBuilder) to evaluate the cooling energy performance of 8 different alternatives in a data center. The MLC was 0.31~0.32 regardless of CRAH supply temperature without air-side economizer, and 0.15 to 0.19 value with air-side economizer. That is, cooling energy can be reduced by approximately 40~55% when applying economizer. As the CRAH SAT and design flow rate changed, the MLC values were 0.16 to 0.18 and 0.15 to 0.19, respectively.
Dielectric barrier discharge plasma is a new technique in water pollutant degradation, which that is characterized by the production of chemically active species such as hydroxyl radicals, ozone, hydrogen peroxide, etc. If dissolving of plasma gas generated in the plasma reaction has increased, it is possible to increase the contaminant removal capacity. In this study, the improvement on the dissolving performance of plasma gas was evaluated by the indirect method measuring the overall oxygen transfer coefficient. Experiments were conducted to examine the effects of nozzle type, distance from water surface, air supply rate and liquid circulation rate. The experimental results showed that the $K_{La}$ value of the 3-prong nozzle is 2.67 times higher than the diffuser. The order of $K_{La}$ value with nozzle type ranked in the following order: 3-prong nozzle (inner diameter, less 1 mm) > circular nozzle (inner diameter, 1.5 mm) > ellipse nozzle (short diameter 1 mm, long diameter 2.5 mm) > circular nozzle (inner diameter, 3 mm). Optimal liquid circulation rate was appeared to be 1.7 L/min, the value of $K_{La}$ was 0.510 1/min. The value of $K_{La}$ with increasing air supply rate was revealed in the form of an exponential such as $K_{La}=0.3581e^{0.2919^*air\;flow\;rate}$.
In this study, $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ reduction have been investigated by using coil type plasma reactor. The experiments have been carried out changing discharge power, gas flow rate frequency and electrode style to obtain the decomposition rate. Decomposition rates of $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ were obtained 20~98% at gas flow rate 100ml/min~1,000ml/min and discharge power 5~25w respectively. The energy efficiency is very good at the high frequency power. The decomposition rate of $SO_2$ for 5kHz power supply is only 90%, but for 10kHz power supply is very high, more than 98% for 15w. The decomposition rate is increasing according to the residence time or the power consumption of the discharge. About 15W discharge power for 17$cm^2$ reactor is necessary to obtain the decomposition rate of $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ of more than 85% or 98%. From these experiments, the consumption power of the decomposition rate of 98% in 300ppm $NO_2$ gas in nitrogen gas proved to be 18W and 300ppm $SO_2$ gas to be 15w.
In this study, it is the purpose to develope a cheap and compact pulsed $CO_2$ laser with pulse repetition rate range of 1 kHz. We used a IGBT switched power supply as a power supply, which is cheap and simple comparing to others. PIC one-chip microprocessor was used for precise control of a laser power supply on the control part. And the laser cavity was fabricated as an axial and water cooled type. The laser performance characteristics as various parameters, such as pulse repetition rate gas pressure, and gas mixture rate have been investigated. The experiment was done under the condition of total pressure of $CO_2:N_2$:He = 1.3:10, 1:1.5:5 1:9:15 from 6 Torr to 15 Torr and pulse repetition rate from 100 Hz to 900 Hz. As a result, the maximum average output was about 20.5 W at the total pressure of 15 Torr, the gas mixture $CO_2:N_2$:He = 1:9:15 and the pulse repetition rate of 700 Hz.

A novel method was suggested for the estimation of design population and design wastewater flow rate in fishing and agrarian village. Even though the population was decreasing continuously in this area, the design population was considered as constant with the passage of the time in conventional methods. And although the portion of groundwater uses was pretty high, the design wastewater flow rate was determined by the supply amount of tap water. Consequently, the design population and the design wastewater flow rate were overestimated. To prevent these overestimates, the design population was predicted to decrease gradually using the population trends from Korea National Statistical Office, and the design wastewater flow rate was determined using the way that the supply amount of tap water was applied in developed areas and the supply amount of groundwater was used in undeveloped areas.
For the most efficient operation of water mains, 124 head losses in domestic water supply steel mains were measured to provide the values of friction coefficient and the variable affecting the deterioration rate of Hazen Williams' and Darcy-Weisbach's friction coefficient. The experimental results show that pipe age is governing the friction coefficient of large mains (Diameter > 1100 mm). On the other hands, pipe age and pipe diameter are affecting the variation of carrying capacity for small mains (Diameter < 1100 mm). The friction coefficient of water mains in foreign countries is higher than that in Korea by about 5 to 10 in Hazen Williams' C value. The growing rate of roughness height of domestic water main is about 0.41 mm/year which is higher than the average of United States of America. So further study is required to find out what causes the serious deterioration rate.
