Experimental Study on the Indoor Thermal Characteristics for Floor Radiant Heating System (바닥복사 난방시스템의 실내 열환경 특성에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, the effects of various operational conditions for floor radiant heating system were researched by experiments. Hot water supply set temperature, indoor air set temperature and supply water flowrate were considered as operational conditions. The control method for this system is On-Off control of automatic thermostatic valve. The purpose of this study is to evaluate indoor thermal control characteristics and energy performance, respectively. As a result, if lower supply water temperature is applied, the supply and return temperature difference is reduced and energy consumption of heat supply is also reduced.

  • The design of a gate driver power supply for a three-phase inverter using a silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET. The requirements for the power supply circuit of the gate driver for the SiC MOSFET are investigated, and a flyback converter using multiple transformers is used to make the four isolated power supplies. The proposed method has the advantage of easily constructing the power supply circuit in a limited space as compared with a multi-output flyback converter using a single core. The power supply circuit for the three-phase SiC MOSFET inverter for driving an AC motor is designed and implemented. The operation and validity of the implemented circuit are verified through simulations and experiments.

A study on Determination Method of the Compliance Concentration of Effluent Limitation from Public Sewage Treatment Works in the Jinwee-stream Watershed Sewer System (유역하수도 공공하수처리시설의 방류수 수질 준수농도 설정방안 연구: 진위천 수계를 중심으로)

  • In accordance with the Watershed Sewer System Maintenance Plan enforced on February 2, 2013, the different compliance concentration of effluent limit be applied to effluent discharged from public sewage treatment works(PSTWs) in each watershed on the basis of water quality thereof. With the introduction of watershed sewer system, it is necessary to set the compliance concentration of effluent limit for PSTWs situated in the watershed, by region and PSTW size, to achieve water quality criteria for regional watersheds or target water quality under TMDL program. Watershed Environmental Agencies establish the Watershed Sewer System Maintenance Plan and set the compliance concentrations of effluent limit for PSTWs under the plan. The agencies plan to apply tougher effluent BOD concentration limits in Class I to IV areas. Effluent BOD concentration limits will be toughened from 5~10 mg/L to 3 mg/L in class II~III areas, from 10mg/L to 5mg/L in class IV areas. Uniform application of effluent BOD concentration limits to PSTWs in the watershed sewer system need to be complemented considering type of sewage treatment technology employed and watershed characteristics. Therefore, this study presents method to determine the compliance concentration of effluent limit from PSTWs in the watershed.

  • This study aimed to develop a method to optimize residual chlorine concentrations in the process of providing water supply. To this end, this study developed a model capable of optimizing the chlorine input into the clearwell in the purification plant and the optimal installation location of rechlorination facilities, and chlorine input. This study applied genetic algorithms finding the optimal point with appropriate residual chlorine concentrations and deriving a cost-optimal solution. The developed model was applied to SN purification plant supply area. As a result, it was possible to meet the target residual chlorine concentration with the minimum cost. Also, the optimal operation method in target area according to the water temperature and volume of supply was suggested. On the basis of the results, this study derived the most economical operational method of coping with water pollution in the process of providing water supply and satisfying the service level required by consumers in the aspects of cost effectiveness. It is considered possible to appropriately respond to increasing service level required by consumers in the future and to use the study results to establish an operational management plan in a short-term perspective.

  • Power supply technique for electrodeless lamps, especially self-oscillation method, is presented in this paper for Endura of Osram. The power supply uses different method for high efficiency at high frequency operation compared to the conventional method using saturable transformer.   • This paper first presents two supply chain design problems: 1) a factory location setting and factory selection problem, and 2) a factory location setting and factory/supplier selection problem. The first involves a number of location known retailers choosing one factory to supply their demands from a number of factories whose locations are to be determined. The goal is to minimize the transportation and manufacturing cost to satisfy the demands. The problem is then augmented into the second problem, where the procurement cost of the raw materials from a chosen material supplier (from a number of suppliers) is considered for each factory. Economic beneficial is taken into account in the cost evaluation. Therefore, the partner selections will influence the cost of the supply chain significantly. To solve these problems, an agent gaming and genetic algorithm hybrid method (AGGAHM) is proposed. The AGGAHM consecutively and alternatively enable and disable the advancement of agent gaming and the evolution of genetic computation. Computation results on solving a number of examples by the AGGAHM were compared with those from methods of a general genetic algorithm and a mutual frozen genetic algorithm. Results showed that the AGGAHM outperforms the methods solely using genetic algorithms. In addition, various parameter settings are tested and discussed to facilitate the supply chain designs.

  • In this paper, 3-D magnetostatic finite element simulation of a rotux type Low-Tc superconducing (LTS) superconducting power supply, finite element method, cryogenic system, superconducting foil by generated magnetic flux from the rotating pole. The magnetic flux density on the superconducting foil caused by two exciters is therefore sufficiently greater than its critical magnetic flux density and it is an essential point in LTS power supply design. To establish the sufficient flux path of this machine, ferromagnetic materials is used in this power supply. When ferromagnetic materials is used at extremely low temperature, its characteristic of magnetization differs to that at room temperature. For this reason, special consideration is needed in the magnetic analysis of cryogenic systems. When the excitation current is 10A, the normal spot appears on superconducting foil. The results of this analysis are calculated and compared with the experimental results. The linkage flux due to the excitation current of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50A are respectively $1.30{\times}10-4$, $2.67{\times}10-4$, $5.08{\times}10-4$ and $6.15{\times}10-4Wb$.

An Experimental Study on the Subjective Response for Water Supply and Drain Installations in Apartment Bathroom (공동주택 급배수 설비소음의 주관반응에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the appropriate evaluation method for the water supply and drain noise of bathroom in apartment and to propose some fundamental idea on its regulation. For this reason, it was studied the acoustical characteristics of water supply and drain noise as modifying the water supply pressure for the washbasins and toilet stools and suggested the optimum evaluation method through psychoacoustic test. As a result of investigation of the levels by evaluating the adjectives and noise sources with 7-step criteria corresponding to each level of plumbing noises and analysis of the correlation between physical evaluation values by comparing the criteria, dB(A), N, and NC, with subject's response, determination coefficient($R^2$) was shown to be relatively fair or higher ranged from 0.65 to 0.92. It is shown that 'Harsh', 'Nervous', 'Unpleasant', 'Distasteful', and 'Repellent' as a second factor are to be appropriate to evaluate plumbing noise. Above these results could be used in basic data establishing KS(Korean Standard) for evaluation and rating procedure and measures reducing these noise.

A Study on Efficient Work Force Supply-Demand According to the Employment Permit System for Foreigners (외국인 고용허가제 도입에 따른 효율적 노동인력 수급에 관한 연구)

  • The employment permit system for foreigners, which stresses introduction of foreign work force in a legal manner rather than in the position of being trainees, is anticipated to efficiently improve introduction and the overall management system of foreign work force and related difficulties such as illegal alien problems, absurdity on sending laborers overseas. In this paper, a prospective model of supply and demand of work force has been developed basing on various categories of industries and patterns about nationally practical foreign employees to look over efficient supply and demand of work force suiting employment of foreigner among foreign work force policies. To propose the prospective model, we have derived industry- and pattern-related matrixes of foreign laborers basing on Inter-Industry Analysis Method put forth by Professor Leontiyef in 1930, and through the derived matrix assessed repercussions concerning overall domestic industries and foreigner types and decided yearly weight; the capacity of supply and demand of foreign laborers can be compared through proposed statistical estimation and government estimation by combining the determined weight with yearly incomes of foreign laborers. This paper has thoroughly considered the particularity of our employment permit system for foreigners and applied the Weibull distribution and incorporated the dependence of foreign laborers during the limited period of 3 years to the industry relation analysis, ultimately proposing an efficient supply and demand method about domestic foreign work force.
