Power-based Supervisory Control of Discrete Event Systems: Political Economy Analysis (권력에 기초한 이산사건시스템의 관리제어: 정치경제학 해석)

  • In this paper, we show that supervisory control theory of discrete event systems can be applied to analyze the problem of power in political economy. For this purpose, we introduce the decision mechanism of control inputs based on power, and the consequent behavior of a supervised system. Specifically, this paper presents the notion of power-controllability as a necessary and sufficient condition to achieve a common control objective of competing groups (local controllers). If the power-controllability is met, a modular system controlled by local controllers with power functions is not deviated from a common control objective of them.

  • In industrial production-distribution systems, production and purchasing rates, associated inventories, and sales are very critical for the profits of each component in the system. The objective of this study is to investigate an effective information control scheme for a production -distribution system by automatic feedback control techniques. In this work, a dynamic control scheme that has an integrated -error with state-feedback and filtering (ISFF) is proposed as a new algorithm for a dynamic controller. Generalized formulations of the dynamic control are proposed in the continuous-time and discrete-time cases. A methodology for an evaluation of ISFF controller gains using the eigen structure property is presented. When an upper-limit is imposed on the production capability by available factory space and capital equipment, supervisory control is provided to avoid integrator-windup and deterioration of system performance.

  • In this study, embodied supervisory system that apply motion detection technique to small web camera and detects watch picture. Motion detection technique that use pixel value of car image that use in existing need memory to store background image. Also, there is sensitive shortcoming at increase of execution time by data process of pixel unit and noise. Suggested technique that compare extracting motion information by block unit to do to have complexion that solve this shortcoming and is strong at noise. Because motion information by block compares block characteristic value of image without need frame memory, store characteristic cost by block of image. Also, can get effect that reduce influence about noise and is less sensitive to flicker etc.. of camera more than motion detection that use pixel value in process that find characteristic value by block unit.

  • In the distribution system, Change of system happens frequently. However, most of the relays are operated manually by a person or not changed when system changed. So, when fault happened, a case that relaydoes not act rapidly happens. Also, in current power system, digital relays are used because of digitization of relay. Digital relay has very many advantages than existing analog relay. One of these advantages is that communication is available and easily can make characteristic curve. If specific values are sent to a relay by communication, A relay can make suitable characteristic curve according to the value. In this paper, by using voltages and currents measured by relay, state of CB(Circuit Breaker) and these relays, SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system that control and correct characteristic curve of overcurrent relay at system change by using HMI(Human Machine Interface) is proposed.

  • To effectively supervise WDM systems requires that the alarm signals for each optical transport network layer is considered. The related recommendations and studies for alarm signals are defining fundamental functions without specifying the structure and configuration of the supervisory channel. In this paper, we propose the detailed alarm signals and propagation flows for each optical transport network layer. We also describe the structure of overhead and the configuration of supervisory channel. Our proposals are based on the ITU T requirements of optical transport network and the supervisory schemes of terminal & add-drop systems. We show that our proposed schemes effectively performs supervisory functions for various fault conditions which will occur in terminal & add-drop typed WDM systems.

  • This paper presents a design experience of a control language for coordination of a multi-robot system. To effectively program job commands, a Petrinet-type Graphical Robot Language(PGRL) is proposed, where some functions, such as concurrency and synchronization, for coordination among tasks can be easily programmed.In our system, the proposed task commands of PGRL are implemented by employing formal model languages, which are composed of three modules, sensory, data handling, and action module. It is expected that by using our proposed PGRL and formal languages, one can easily describe a job or task, and hence can effectively operate a complex real-time and concurrent system. The control system is being implemented by using VME-based 32-bit microprocessor boards for supervisory, each module controller(arm, hand, leg, sensor data processing module) and a real time multi-tasking operating system(VxWorks).   • In accordance with increase of electrical power demanded, more efficient supervisory control of distribution system is required. This study contains development of MMI(man-machine-interface) system with GUI(graphic-user-interface), for the automatic power distribution system. The main function of MMI system are to edit network of power distribution, to view network, to warnning a breakdown and to management of data base for network. The GUI function of MMI system enables more efficient management of power distribution system.

  • In this paper, we present a framework for modeling and control of multiple mobile robots which cowork within a bounded workspace and limited resources. To achieve this goal, we adopt a formalism of discrete event system and supervisory control theory based on Petri nets. We can divide our whole story into two parts: first, we search the shortest path using the distance vector algorithm, and then we construct the control scheme from which a number of mobile robots can work within a bounded workspace without any collision. The use of Petri net modeling allows us In synthesize a controller which achieves a control specification for the desired closed-loop behavior efficiently. Finally, the usefulness of the proposed Petri net formalism is illustrated by a simulation study.

  • The digital instrumentation and control system for the large scale system like the power plant must have the form of the heirachical structure. Because most large scale system have many control and process signals and it is distributed in the vade region, it is necessary to partition them into several subsystems. Therefore, the role of SCS(Supervisory Control System) having the functions of controlling and monitoring for the status of subsystems is very important. In this paper, new SCS for the effective control of the large scale system is proposed.
