Modeling Mobility Agents in Supervisory and Controlling Systems Based on Nets within Nets (ICCAS2005)

  • The goal of our research is to develop a formal modeling methodology for supervisory and controlling systems that have artificially intelligent features. This approach is agent-based and central to the development of the model of mobility agent considering reactivity for real-time purpose and deliberation for optimal realization and safe-fail problems for critical systems like Intelligent Transportation Systems by high-level Petri net. By using nets within nets we investigate the concurrency of the system and the agent in one model without losing the needed abstraction, and synchronous channels are introduced to denote the coordination and communication. Finally an example is demonstrated.

  • TETRA(TErrestrial Trunked RAdio) is the wireless communication system generally adopted to public network and backbone network, as the technology of Trunked Radio System specified by ETSI(European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and currently adopted to the Electric Power IT Backbone Network in Korea. IEC 61850 is the protocol proposed for SAS(Substation Automation System) of SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system. In this paper, IEC 61850 Server and Client simulator are used based on Linux operating system. The multi-functional gateway, which transforms the communication based on TCP/IP between IEC 61850 Server Simulator and Client Simulator to the one based on TETRA Packet Data Service, is developed such that IEC 61850 SCADA system is constructed based on TETRA.

  • A discrete event systems (DES) is a physical system that is discrete in time and state space, asynchronous (event rather than clock-driven), and in some sense generative(or nondeterministic). This paper presents the design of fifteen modular supervisors to control an experimental CIM testbed. These supervisors are nonblocking, controllable and nonconflicting. After verification of the supervisors by simulation, the supervisors for AGV system have been implemented to demonstrate their efficacy.

  • The importance of communication security is increased in the power industry. The representative communication network of power industry is the SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. The SCADA system has been used for remote measurement and control in the power industry. Recently, many studies of SCADA network security have been carried out around the world. In this paper, we introduce recent security issues in the SCADA network and propose the application of a symmetric encryption method to the Korea SCADA network.

  • In accordance with increase, if electronic power demanded, more efficient supervisory control of distribution system will be required. This study contains development of MMI(man-machine-interface) system with GUI(graphic-user-interface), for the automatic power distribution system. The main function of MMI system is to edit network of power distribution and to management of data base for network. The GUI function of MMI system enables more efficient management of power distribution system.

  • In the paper is proposed a hierarchical self-learning fuzzy controller for balancing and position control of an circular inverted pendulum system. To stabilize the pendulum at a specified position, the hierarchical fuzzy controller consists of a supervisory controller, a self-learning fuzzy controller, and a forced disturbance generator. Simulation example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This function provides hand-on training for power dispatchers for operation of the nation control center in the future, it needs interface between simulator and expert system.   • Recently embedded systems are widely used in various industrial fields as supervisory controller because they have many merits. One of merits seems to be that operating environment of embedded system is the same as development environment using PC. That makes developing and manufacturing period shorten and also proper time to market Most of all machinery have sequential control system for their maneuvering which is composed of relays. contacts. timers. etc. In this paper. software sequential control system is proposed to be able to replace hardware sequential control system by using embedded system A lot of merits by the software sequential control system can be expected in the respect of economic reproduction, intelligent technologies and utilities, And porting of LINUX operating system to embedded system is carried out and device drivers and interface boards for LINUX 05 are designed for controlling air compressor by software Internet remote control and monitoring system of air compressor is implemented with Java script and CGI for these purposes. The experiment for operating air compressor system is taken through internet networks. The results show that developed system can be used for real plant.

  • The recent trend of logistics demands for improved monitoring system of the inside of containers including current temperature and other environmental conditions. This paper presents an information processing technique with fuzzy logic that recognizes the current situations inside the target container and can be implemented on intelligent container systems. The ZigBee modules are used to collect information such as temperature, humidity, and shock inside the container in ubiquitous environment. The information processing system using fuzzy logic and the InTouch, one of SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, is implemented to monitor the inside of the container and predict the emergency state.
