A Study on the Disaster Safety Assessment on the Analysis of Educational Facilities due to Disasters (교육시설 재난사고 실태 분석에 따른 재난안전 평가 방향에 관한 연구)

  • Even though newly formed schools do struggle to strengthen their security in safety, existed schools have limitations for active response against natural disaster. From analyzing the results of accident cases and states in misfortune and the safety supervision of school facilities, it is said that damages by wind, flood and fire are typical types of disaster accidents. Also, according to the basic law of misfortune and the safety supervision, it emphasizes education, training, and actions that prevent from being a victim of natural disaster. In terms of these finding, establishing disaster safety organization, control system and having students an opportunity to learn how to response against disaster should be critical component in managing disaster safety of school facilities.

Improving the Role of the Teaching Hospital in the Clinical Clerkship (의과대학 학생 임상실습을 위한 교육병원의 역할 제고 방안)

  • The mission of the modern medical school includes education, research, and patient care. The clinical clerkship is an important part of the core curriculum, and hospital facilities are needed for the clinical clerkship. However, unfortunately, education has moved to the periphery during the past several decades because of the dominance of research and patient care. This may lead to obstacles in the education of future physicians in the long term. To promote their education mission, teaching hospitals need to recognize and share the importance of this mission. In addition to the certification of teaching hospitals, a new paradigm for teaching hospitals should be introduced to produce a high quality clinical clerkship and postgraduate medical education. The relevant government departments need to allocate and expand financial support to medical schools and teaching hospitals, and to unify supervision of basic and postgraduate medical education.

  • Purpose: All acts which are enforced from the radioactive iodine therapeutic team is a in its own way principle and provision. Therefore unification of all acts can not be appropriately. We will make the standard coherence. Materials & Methods: From 5 November, 2007 to 17 November 2007, we conducted a questionnaire survey of the nuclear medicine manager of 30 hospitals. The contents of a questionnaire is medical treatment section, patient management, prosecuting attorney section, waste management and safety supervision in about the patient and a questionnaire was drawn up in the method which selects an item. Results: 30 hospital agencies are operating purely for I-131 high dose ablation therapy. Diagnostic study and daily schedule had the difference of some. The most of education for the patients took charge of doctor and nurse. The satisfaction of education was evaluated as the high thing. The safety supervision of waste management accomplishment and Safety supervision the patient and the worker observed on the basis of atomic energy law. Conclusion: Specific standards with sufficient amount of information and practical contents should have been presented through the following data. However, it seems to be lacking in many aspects. Nevertheless, respondents rated 70.9%, which is relatively high, on the value of clinical utilization, and I am very thankful for the evaluation. For many years from now, it may seem necessary for a lot of research on the specific matters based on these data to be conducted.

A Study on Program Development for Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (의료보험 적용대상자의 질병예방 및 건강증진사업 활성화 방안)

  • The Korean people are all the beneficiaries of medical insurance or medical aid. It is important and needful to develop the preventive health program such as health examination and health education for disease prevention and health promotion of the beneficiaries. This paper diagnoses the status and problems of the current preventive health services to the beneficiaries and recommends how to develop the preventive health program in the medical insurance. This paper suggests that the government should strengthen the political support and supervision in order to develop the preventive health program in the medical insurance. In addition to the above suggestion, the following are recommended ; 1) to designate the large number of qualified hospitals for health examination. 2) to use the supplementary methods such as the health questionnaires in order to give the accurate health examination services. 3) to combine the health examinations by both laws of medical insurance and industrial health. 4) to arrange the manpower in charge of health education and to establish the health promotion centers. 5) to develop the effective mass media and materials for health education by use of TV, radio, VTR and slide projector.

The Study on the Expertise about Field-University-Government Cooperation Oriented Supervision Program for Child-care Center (델파이 방법을 활용한 산·학·관 협력 어린이집 장학프로그램에 대한 전문가 인식 조사)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the expertise about the field-university-government cooperation oriented supervision program for child-care center. The research contents for the purpose of this study were to investigate a distributions of the panel's responses on a draft and the adequacy of the items and the convergence of the panel members' responses. This study was conducted in three steps of the Delpi method with a panel consisting of 20 experts. On the first step, we collected opinion of the panel through open-ended questions on a field-university-government cooperation oriented supervision program for child-care center. On the second and third steps, we analyzed the distributions of the panel's responses to the questionnaire with a 4-point rating scales. Finally, we developed 77 items for 2 categories for the field-university-government cooperation oriented supervision program. The results of the analysis for the adequacy showed that most of the items were valid and reliable, and the responses of the panel groups are a high convergence level, except some items.

Accreditation Standards and Procedures for Institutions of Early Childhood Education and Care (유아교육·보육기관 평가인정제 개발 연구)

  • A large sample (1090) of randomly selected early childhood education professionals and government officials rated each of the 133 standards of "A Model for Institutional Accreditation for Early Childhood Education and Care"(Yang, 1999) on a scale of 1 (least important) to 5 (most important). Findings were that all kindergartens and child care centers should be evaluated for accreditation every 3 years with 3-6 months for self-study and on-site validation visits by representatives of the appropritates agencies for 1-2 days. Evaluation results are should be used by institution personnel as a guide to self-supervision, by government officials as a funding standard and by parents as criteria of program quality. Essential accreditation standards included: facilities and equipment; curriculum; nutrition, health and safety; administration and management; and support systems. Safety and teacher-child interactions were most highly rated while parent involvement was not highly rated.

Stress and Stress Coping that Students Experienced in their Social Work Field Practicum (사회복지실습생이 경험하는 스트레스와 대처)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine present condition of social work field education, students' stress/stress coping strategies in their field practicum, and to find out the difference according to the factors related field education. This study carried out a survey targeting 202 students who finished their social work field practicum and took their course work in 2012, from 4 different universities in the northern Gyeonggi province & Seoul. As the result, in the area of stress, the highest rank was the lack of professional knowledge/skills, the second was the environment of field practicum, and the third was the burden of tasks that they had to perform. About the coping strategies, it was found that students utilized 'problem-solving focused' the most, pursuing 'social support' as the second, and 'avoidance' strategies as the least. Factors influencing on differences of stress level depending on field work experiences were whether they had previous field experience, how much time they participated in previous volunteer activities, whether they attended orientation for their field practicum, regularity/frequency of supervision, the satisfaction on their social work/welfare major, and the satisfaction on their field practicum or supervision. Based on the results, suggestions for development in field education system were presented.

Comparison of Curriculum between Dental Hygienists and Dentists in Korea (치위생학과와 치의학과의 교육과정 비교)

  • Introduction: All work of dental hygienists in Korea is to be carried out under the supervision of a dentist, but the main tasks of dental hygienists are systematic and sufficiently trained within the college curriculum. The purpose of this study was to compare the curriculum between the Department of Dental Hygiene and the Department of Dentistry to provide a basis for legal revision of the dental hygienist's unique work. Methods: The curriculum was acquired from the homepage of the Department of Dental Hygiene and Dentistry. The curriculum in 23 of 28 dental hygiene schools and 6 of 11 dental schools was identified on the homepage. The swere classified based on the scope of dental hygienist work. Results: The Department of Dentistry has more than twice the number of credits and subjects compared to the Department of Dental Hygiene, and the top subjects belong to the treatment and rehabilitation of dental diseases. However, in the field of preventive dentistry, which is a unique work of dental hygienists, the Department of Dental Hygiene has a score of 9.3 times higher than that of dentistry. In the public oral health field, the oral health education field, and the dental management field, dental hygienists scored twice as high as dentists. Conclusion: Since dental hygienists are receiving more education than dentists in the areas of preventive dentistry, public oral health, oral health education, and dental management, which are unique tasks, it is suggested that the work can be performed independently without supervision of the dentist.

The Effects of Role Conflicts on the Work-related Flow of Childcare Teachers (어린이집교사의 역할갈등이 일 플로우에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study examined the relationships between work related flow (i.e., absorption, work enjoyment, and intrinsic work motivation) and role conflict causes (i.e., teacher's belief, teaching and interaction with young children, comradeship, relationships with parents, workload, supervision, and social awareness of the job). A canonical correlation analysis was performed on the data from a sample of 154 childcare teachers. The results are as follows (1) there was a reciprocal-causal relationship between teachers' role conflict causes and their work-related flow; (2) canonical function 1 showed that absorption and work enjoyment are strongly associated to a teacher's belief and supervision of conflict causes; and (3) canonical function 2 showed that intrinsic motivation has a relatively strong relationship with workload and supervision of conflict causes. It can be concluded that it is important for childcare teachers to have sufficient job resources to promote their flow at work. Further research is needed for investigation of teacher's flow at various conditions of work.

  • The purpose of this study was to present the fundamental direction in training social work supervisors. First it defined the competency of supervisors and by analyzing the contrasts between the present situation and points for compensation, the study searched for alternative solutions to reinforce the role of supervisors. The research was conducted by interviewing 7 Focus Groups, the 20 Delphi questionnaire panel, and the 213 social workers in the community welfare centers. This study multilaterally evaluated the opinions of all supervision interested parties and as a result, defined the core supervisor competence in the areas of knowledge, skill, and attitude(KSA). The main characteristics to be improved were found to be supervisors' leadership, supervision knowledge, self-recognition. conflicts arbitration skills, the communication skills, the team work skills, and the main attitudes of consistency, patience and openness. This study is significant that it presented specific direction in the developing training courses for supervisor, researching the detailed education demands and analyzing the application of the supervisor's competency model in the organization.
