흉요추부의 표재열 및 심부열 적용이 H 반사의 변화에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Superficial Heat and Deep Heat for Lumbo-sacral Segment on H-Reflex)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate influence of superficial heat and deep heat for lumbo-sacral segment on H-reflex. Methods: Subjects of this research were 12 normal men and women (6 men and 6 women) and they were assigned to superficial heat group (6) and deep heat group (6). Heat treatment was applied between Th12-L2 by placing them at prone posture. superficial heat was applied for 20 min at 30 cm height with infrared lamp. Deep heat was applied for 20 mm at 5 cm height with 100 watt of microwave diathermy. H-reflex used diagnostic electromyography, active electrode was placed at muscle belly of medial gastrocnemius muscle at prone posture and electrical stimulation was given to posterior tibial nerve. Measurement was made before and after experiment and 10 min. and 20 min. after experiment. All data were analyzed with window 12.0 program, comparison of differences among measured items of groups according to repeated measurement was made with repeated measures ANOVA and significance level a was 0.05. Results: M latency at latency analysis showed little changes at two groups. H latency was reduced a little immediately after experiment and recovered to original state, there was significant difference. In analysis of amplitude, Mmax amplitude showed rise a little immediately after.

건열요법과 습열요법 적용후 전이부 표층부 혈류량과 피부온도의 변화 (Changes of Pre-Auricular Cutaneous Blood Flow and Skin Temperature after Dry Heat Therapy and Moist Heat Therapy)

  • 본 연구는, 표면열요법 중에서 널리 쓰이는 습열 요법(온습포)과 건열 요법(적외선 램프)이 전이부 표층부 혈류량과 피부온도에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해, 건강한 성인 20명(남 10명, 여 10명)을 대상으로 laser doppler flowmetry를 사용하여 표면열요법 적용전후의 피부 온도와 표층부 혈류량을 측정함으로써 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 온습포와 적외선 램프 모두에서 표층부 혈류량과 피부 온도는 적용전보다 적용후에 유의하게 증가하였다. 2. 표면열 요법 적용 후 표면 온도는 표면열 요법 적용 직후에, 표층부 혈류량은 표면열 요법 적용 4분 후에 가장 높게 나타났으며, 그 이후 꾸준히 감소하였다. 3. 표면열 요법 적용 후 증가된 표층부 혈류량은 적외선 램프에 비해 온습포에서 더 오랫동안 유지되었다. 4. 표면열 요법 적용 후 증가된 피부 온도는 두 요법 모두 60분간 유의성있게 증가된 상태로 유지되었으나, 적외선 램프 적용 후 증가된 피부 온도는 온습포에 비해 급격히 감소하였다. 5. 적외선 램프 적용 직후 여성이 남성보다 표층부 혈류량의 증가가 컸으나, 그 이후 차이가 점차 감소하여 20분 이후에는 성별에 따른 차이가 없었다.

어깨와 대퇴부위에 건열과 습열 적용이 피부온도와 심부체온에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Heat Therapy to Superficial and Deep Body Temperatures according to Applying Dry and Moist Heats on Shoulder and Thigh)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to help preparing the evidence-based data for the manual of heat applications by finding the differences of superficial and core temperatures after applying dry and moist heats on shoulder and thigh. Methods: Moist and dry heats were alternately applied on the 33 subjects a day apart from May 15, 2010 through June 9, 2010. The experiment was conducted with $23^{\circ}C$ to $25^{\circ}C$ room temperature and 50% to 66% of moisture from 2 to 6 p.m. After heat was applied on the shoulder of the subjects wearing shorts and gowns for 30 minutes, their superficial and core temperatures were measured. The same method was used on the thigh after two hours. Results: Both superficial and core temperatures on the shoulder and thigh increased significantly after heat therapy. There was no significant difference between the temperatures before and after intervention according to applying methods and regions. Conclusion: This study provides a theoretical basis that a dry heat is a convenient nursing intervention for hypothermic patients.

Effects of High-Frequency Treatment using Radiofrequency on Autonomic Nervous System and Pain in Women with Dysmenorrhea

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to present basic data for appropriate therapeutic intervention by confirming changes in the autonomic nervous system and pain by applying high-frequency deep diathermy to the lower abdomen in patients with primary dysmenorrhea. Design: A randomized controlled clinical trial. Methods: Thirty-eight women aged 18-50 years who complained of regular menstrual cycles (24-32 days) and primary dysmenorrhea symptoms were randomly assigned to a high-frequency therapy group (5, 7, or 9 mins) and a superficial heat therapy group (20 min). High frequency treatment group: The subject was in a supine position, and radio frequency was applied to the lower abdomen below the umbilicus. The radio frequency therapy device used in this study uses a 300 kHz capacitive electrode and a 500 kHz resistive electric transfer to deliver deep heat. Superficial heat treatment Group: Subjects applied a hot pack to the lower abdomen for 20 minutes while lying on their back. Evaluations were made of Heart rate variability and Visual Analogue Scale. Results: In subjects with menstrual pain, there was a significant difference in pain between the high-frequency therapy group and the superficial heat therapy group (p=0.026). However, there was no significant difference between the autonomic nervous system and the stress resistance (p>0.05). Conclusions: As a result of this study, high-frequencytreatment using radiofrequency was effective in relieving pain because it can penetrate deeper tissues than conventional hot packs using superficial heat. In particular, it was found that the optimum effect was obtained when high frequency was applied forfive-seven minutes.

체표 온도 변화에 대한 문헌 고찰 (A literature study on change of surperficial temperature)

  • Object: A study on the changes of superficial temperature as the ambient temperature varies. Method: After performing research on the physiologic mechanism of heat loss from skin, heat transfer to skin and heat productions of body, the conclusions would be drawn from experiments on temperature changes in every parts of the body as ambient temperature varies . Result and conclusion: Superficial temperature is in equilibrium with ambient temperature after a certain period. Part of the body with big change in superficial temperature tends to have slower temperature change and longer time for adaptation than the part with small change in superficial temperature. The temperature difference between left and right side of the body needs no attention. If adequate adaptation time, a short-period living supervision prior to measurements and appropriate indoor environment management are provided, meaningful conclusion would be attained for infrared thermal diagnosis.

단열 수평관내 이상류의 유동특성 (Two-Phase Flow Characteristics in an Adiabatic Horizontal Tube)

  • Two-phase loop systems using the latent heat capacity of their working fluids can meet the increasing power requirements and are well suited to thermal management systems of future large applications, due to its abilities to handle large heat loads and to provide them at uniform temperatures regardless of the changes in the heat loads. Therefore some experiments on the effect of the gas and liquid superficial velocities, $j_G,\;j_L$ on flow pattern transition, void fraction and frictional pressure loss were performed on a co-current air-water flow in an adiabatic horizontal tube. The flow patterns were depended on the superficial velocity of each phase. It snowed that the increasing $j_L$, resulted in a significant increase in the frictional pressure loss for all flow patterns, at a constant $j_G$. The experimental results were also evaluated with some of existing models and correlations.

순차적 냉·온 요법이 척추 수술 후 통증과 통증 조절 만족도, 안위, 주관적 반응에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Sequential Application of Superficial Cold and Heat on Pain, Patient Satisfaction with Pain Control, Comfort Level and Subjective Response after Spine Surgery)

  • Purpose: The aims of the current study were to evaluate the effects of superficial cold and heat after spine surgery on pain, satisfaction with pain control and comfort level, and to identify subjective responses and adverse effects. Methods: A prospective, single-blind, randomized controlled trial was utilized. The intervention group (n=36) received superficial cooling until the wound drain was removed and thereafter followed by superficial heating until discharge, while the control group (n=34) received only superficial cooling until wound drain was removed. Data were collected from August 4 to November 11 2014. Results: There was significant difference in pain according to time within groups (F=71.87, p<.001). However, we found no difference in pain between groups. The intervention group reported higher patient satisfaction with pain control (4 vs 3, z=-2.83, p=.005) and higher comfort level (5 vs 4, z=-4.12, p<.001) than the control group. Conclusion: Results indicate that sequential application of superficial cold and heat is a useful method in clinical practice for management of pain after spine surgery.

고점성 낮은표면장력 매체 기포탑에서 열전달 (Heat Transfer in Bubble Columns with High Viscous and Low Surface Tension Media)

  • 고점성이며 낮은 표면장력 매체로 구성된 기포탑에서 축방향 국부 열전달 계수와 총괄 열전달 계수에 대해 고찰하였다. 기체공탑유속(0.02~0.10 m/s), 액체 점도($0.1{\sim}0.3Pa{\cdot}s$) 그리고 액체 표면장력($66.1{\sim}72.9{\times}10^{-3}N/m$)이 국부 및 총괄 열전달 계수에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 열전달 영역은 기포탑 내부 열원과 기포탑 간의 열전달계로 구성하였다. 즉, 기포탑의 중앙에 수직 열원을 설치하여 내부 열원으로 하였다. 열전달 계수는 주어진 운전조건에서 열원에 제공되는 열량과 내부 열원과 기포탑 간의 온도차를 연속적으로 측정하여 결정하였다. 국부 열전달 계수는 기체공탑유속이 증가함에 따라 증가하였으나 기체 분산판으로 부터의 축방향 거리가 증가함에 따라, 액체의 표면장력이 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 총괄 열전달 계수는 기체공탑유속이 증가함에 따라 증가하였으나 액상의 점도와 표면장력이 증가함에 따라서는 감소하였다. 총괄 열전달 계수는 기체공탑유속, 액상의 점도와 표면장력의 함수로 상관계수 0.91의 상관식을 얻을 수 있었으며 넛셀 수, 레이놀즈 수, 플란틀 수 그리고 웨버 수의 함수로 상관계수 0.92의 상관식으로 나타낼 수 있었다. $$h=2502U^{0.236}_{G}{\mu}^{-0.250}_{L}{\sigma}^{-0.028}_L$$ $$Nu=325Re^{0.180}Pr^{-0.067}We^{0.028}$$.

Circularly Rotated Array for Dual Polarized Applicator in Superficial Hyperthermia System

  • A circularly rotated array for a dual polarized applicator in a superficial hyperthermia system is proposed. The applicator has a wider effective treatment area due to the $180^{\circ}$ phase shift. The dual polarized circularly rotated array (DPCRA) suppresses overheating at the center of the array and helps evenly distribute the heat. This array provides a more effective treatment area than a lattice array when a $2{\times}2$ dual polarized array is fitted to the treatment area. The treatment area is 71.5% of the aperture, whereas the effective treatment areas of the $2{\times}2$ dual polarized lattice array (DPLA) and the single polarized array (SPA) are 57.2% and 38.6% of the same aperture, respectively. The measurement matches the simulation results without blood circulation effects. In a $2{\times}2$ array applicator, the proposed DPCRA has more heat uniformity than the DLA and the SPA.

비비등 선회유동에서의 2상 대류열전달 증가 (Two phase convective heat transfer augmentation in swirl flow with non-boiling)

  • Two phase flow phenomena are observed in many industrial facilities and make much importance of optimum design for nuclear power plant and various heat exchangers. This experimental study has been investigated the classification of the flow pattern, the local void distribution and convective heat transfer in swirl and non-swirl two phase flow under the isothermal and nonisothermal conditions. The convective heat transfer coefficients in the single phase water flow were measured and compared with the calculated results from the Sieder-Tate correlation. These coefficients were used for comparisons with the two-phase heat transfer coefficients in the flow orientations. The experimental results indicate, that the void probe signal and probability density function of void distribution can used into classify the flow patterns, no significant difference in voidage distribution was observed between isothermal and non-isothermal condition in non-swirl flow, the values of two phase heat transfer coefficients increase when superficial air velocities increase, and the enhancement of the values is observed to be most pronounced at the highest superficial water velocity in non-swirl flow. Also two phase heat transfer coefficients in swirl flow are increased when the twist ratios are decreased.
