The purpose of this study are as follows; Firstly, with the quantitative data analysis on energy, it will confirm the objective information on the unclear negative idea of super high-rise mixed-use housing. Secondly, it will establish the fundamental data on the energy of super high-rise mixed-use housing by examining the characteristic of energy consumption of the complex which was built more than 5 years ago. There are 4 methods of this study. Firstly, it follows the steps of theoretical view, and defines concept to study on the characteristic of super high-rise mixed-use housing. Secondly, referring to the previous study, it provides better understanding on th stream of this research and the limit as well to guide the direction in terms of energy consumption. Thirdly, it evaluates the characteristic of monthly consumption by researching the use of electricity energy and heating energy of super high-rise mixed-use housing. The major conclusions of this study are as follows; Firstly, the heating use of apartment complex is same, which is not influenced by the type of the building. Secondly, the electricity use of super high-rise mixed-use housing is from 1,2 to 1.5 as high as the normal apartment.

  • The purpose of this study is to secure an evacuation time and to ensure safety by using an Ubiquitous Sensor Network computing when a fire breaks out at a super high-rise apartment housing. A super high-rise apartment housing that is a type of building to solve the problem of separation of the urban function and the phenomenon of hollowing out downtown has been on the increase, high-rise apartment housings occupying 52.7% of whole housings in 2005. However, if a fire breaks out, there would be serious damage since it accommodates many people and facilities as existence of vertical gigantism in the city. The architectural law in force has no clause on it which is universally applicable to general building, it is difficult to be applicable to a densely super high-rise apartment housing and there would be in danger of a resident's evacuation in the fire. Therefore, as a previous study to introduce an USN-based fire-warning facility and evacuation equipment, this study shows the improvement way after analyzing factors that are barriers to evacuaee's behavior of a super high-rise apartment housing and also shows establishment of the grade of vertical evacuation rank by SimuleX, one of the best computer simulation program.

  • High rise apartments and super high rise apartments have recently been widely and rapidly disseminated throughout Korea in a very productively efficient way. Within this process, strategies to enhance communal culture have been absent. The purpose of this research is to examine the requirements for community shared spaces for super high rise apartments as expressed by apartment residents. A questionnaire was developed and a web survey was utilized. The respondents were 247 apartment residents. The results showed that a substantial number of residents desired social interaction. This implies the necessity for the promotion of shared spaces. In terms of the possible preferred locations of most possible shared spaces, including sports related space, childcare space, educational space, elderly space, residents' gathering space, and administration space, the lobby proved to be the most popular. Other diverse locations, however, also seemed promising. In conclusion, the residents' desires indicated possibilities of a vertical community culture due to the diverse desires for community spaces. This can be used as evidence to facilitate the vertical community of super high rise apartments.
