A Study on Nurturing Korean Star Character by Analysis of Nintendo Super Mario Character Transition - Focusing on Robot Taekwon V - (닌텐도 '슈퍼마리오' 캐릭터 변천 분석에 따른 한국형 스타캐릭터 육성에 관한 연구 - 로봇태권 V를 중심으로 -)

  • Star characters play a key role in the background of contents that secure global competitiveness. In this study, we study the growth factors and transitional forms of Nintendo Super Mario Bros. and suggest the direction of nurturing Korean star characters. As a result of the analysis of Super Mario Bros., it was possible to derive the growth factors of Originality, repeatability, Continuity, Pertain, and Star Fame and the transition result of step development method. Robot Taekwon V was presented as a reference model while Korean game characters with global competitiveness were excavated. Robot Taekwon V, which combines the features of friendly, unique, symbolism, and narrative, could be used to present a development model of the type of jump development. In the jump development model, character development and Upbringing, diversification of genre, pioneering of new markets combined with new technology, and fostering of characters through linkage with other industries were presented.

  • This paper described a character of the narrative in the computer game, especially targeting the newest edition 'SUPER MARIO(NDS, ie computer game in NITENDO). The series had gained popularity over 20 years with its attractions as changing graphics, developing computer technology. It also had been proved that a narrative was connected with a semiotic factor in the game. The analyzation of doer and space in the game that showed the narrative character explained the repetition and the modification, then deduced certain motif from it. This study was to certify that immersion and interesting in game were interacted with between a game factors and narratives, and it is meaningful for developing game story.

The "Sombrero-Shape" Super-Thin Pedicled ALT Flap for Complete Scrotal Reconstruction Following Fournier's Gangrene

  • When the scrotal sac is entirely debrided following a Fournier gangrene, testes exposure poses unique challenges for the reconstructive surgeon. Despite the anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap is considered a workhorse in such context, aesthetic results are often suboptimal because of the lack of natural ptosis and patchwork appearance. We describe the use of a super-thin pedicled ALT flap for total scrotal reconstruction, modified according to a peculiar flap design and inset technique. A 42-year-old man was referred to our department for delayed total scrotal reconstruction 8 months after a Fournier gangrene extensive debridement. A super-thin pedicled ALT flap from the right thigh was designed: in the central portion of the ALT, a lateral skin paddle extension was marked to guarantee adequate posterior anchorage during insetting and ptosis of the scrotal sac. This particular flap arrangement has inspired the name "sombrero" as the shape is akin to the famous hat. No secondary refinements were needed, and the patient showed satisfying aesthetic and functional results at 12 months' follow-up. The ALT flap design "sombrero" modification proposed in this article can improve scrotum cosmesis and patient satisfaction in a single-stage single-flap procedure.

  • While a game market has been growing consistently world widely, a market of arcade or video game has been detained. In this stagnation, the latest one in 2015, "Super Mario Maker" of Mario series that's been running in good for 30 years, the notable sale and growth of which are extraordinary. As for a study in customizing, a literature of game customizing and studies that are foregone were mostly handling contents about a game character. In the survey that's done in this thesis about knowledge and needs in customizinge game users have, it was shown they want to customize sides of a rule and a character. I analyzed what the main factors are in this game which uses a main concept of customizing and the reason for high profits and popularity. As a result of the analysis, four features, possibility to customize a game rule, share data among users, collaboration in marketing with NFC figure characters, offering updates with sustained and new customizing features were found out. I am certain a game customizing will be helping to meet users and be used for various industries without limit of existing character.

  • It's called masterpieces, which are made up of a lot of enthusiasts by adding a variety of configurations, high game quality, and colorful and realistic graphics. Since many classic games came out and disappear from the game companies, they have been revived in recent years as mobile. Although this phenomenon may have various hardware and software reasons, the present researcher intends to compare and analyze the graphical issues of the characters that can increase the game immersion by the user's autonomous selection among the factors for the immersion of the game. In addition to the birth of one of the most loved characters in the world among the characters of various games, it is considered to be a character who has developed the process of graphic and various expressive production centering on the character called Super Mario which shows various developments than the character in the game history of the world We will present various possibilities of development of game character through comparative analysis and research based on the character.
