  • A new high efficiency active clamp forward converter suitable for the sustaining power module(SPM) of a plasma display panel (PDP) is proposed. It has a wide zero voltage switching (ZVS) range without inserting additional resonant inductor. Also, it features simpler structure, lower cost, less mass, and no effective duty loss. Furthermore, voltages across all rectifier diodes are clamped on the output voltage, which results in a higher efficiency.

  • 본 연구에서는 임베디드 시스템, 특히 블루투스 베이스밴드에서 사용이 가능한 고속 직렬 포트 인터페이스를 설계하였다. 인터페이스는 ARM 프로세서를 응용할 수 있는 AMBA APB에 호환될 수 있도록 설계하였으며, 8비트 형태로 외부 디바이스와 코프로세서 간 데이터와 명령을 전송할 수 있다. 오류 정정을 위하여, CRC를 적용하였고 멀티미디어 카드를 위한 인터페이스도 제공하였다. 설계한 직렬 포트 인터페이스는 자동합성하여 P&R을 수행하였다. 결과물은 Altera FPGA로 구현하였으며 25MHz에서 정상동작하였다.

Suitability of a Group Behavioural Therapy Module for Workplace Smoking Cessation Programs in Malaysia: a Pilot Study

  • In Malaysia, data on components suitability the established smoking cessation module is limited. This exploratory study aimed to evaluate the suitability of the components developed in the module for group behavioural therapy in workplace smoking cessation programs. Twenty staff were identified but only eight individuals were selected according to the study criteria during the recruitment period in May 2014. Focus group discussion was conducted to identify themes relevant to the behavioural issues among smokers. Thematic analysis yielded seven major themes which were reasons for regular smoking, reasons for quitting, comprehending smoking characteristics, quit attempt experiences, support and encouragement, learning new skills and behaviour, and preparing for lapse/relapse or difficult situations. As a result, the developed module was found to be relevant and suitable for use based on these themes.

  • We proposed 50W-LED modules of using Heat-pipe and Stack-fin and produced LED modules was evaluated heat dissipation characteristics with comparison of the conventional die-casting type. It verified the application of products by applying it to 150W-LED road luminaires through simulation. The LED module was measures aimed design temperature of the Stack-fin and showed 26% upward heat dissipation effect than a conventional die-casting type. The luminous efficacy of 150W-LED road luminaires using this LED module reached over 112lm/W, and the simulation results showed average of horizontal luminance, overall luminance uniformity($U_O$) and lane luminance uniformity($U_I$) that is suitable for five-lane road with the KS standards.

  • The purpose of this paper is to explain the techniques of the data verification module achieved while developing a transient stability program which is suitable to korean power system. It concentrates on the concrete explanation about modeling of the dynamic models and the method of the data verification. This proposed module enhances the performance of the developing program. This developing module has been tested with the KEPCO system, and the simulation results obtained from the program are compared to those of commercial programs.

  • For electromagnetic forming(EMF) the most important feature is a forming coil which creates the electromagnetic force(Lorentz force), using current density and a magnetic field. Most previous papers have concentrated on the final configuration of the blank or the efficiency of EMF process. Studies focused on the design parameters affected by the forming coil performance have not been conducted. In order to design a suitable forming coil for an object, the current study uses LS-DYNA EM-Module to not only optimize the coil but also to examine the effect of coil performance. By this method a suitable forming coil was made and tested to determine whether or not good formability was achieved in a free bulge test Numerical analysis was also used. The workpiece was Al 1100-O with a thickness of 1.27mm and the coil was made from copper CW004A, which has good electrical conductivity and is suitable for electrical components.

  • 범용의 컴퓨터언어틀 정의하고 이 언어의 수행에 적합한 컴퓨터 architecture를 계시하였다. 이 architecture는 마이크로프로그램기법을 이용하며 이의 특징은 마이크로모듈 swapping의 필요성을 줄이므로서 이에 소용되는 시간을 절약할 수 있는 점과, 원하는 마이코로모듈이 제어 기억장치에 부재시에도 프로그램 수행이 가능한 점이다.

  • The speech recognition system usually consists of two modules, segmentation module and identification module. So, the performance of the system heavily depends on the segmentation accuracy and the segmentation unit. This paper is concerned with the agreeable features for segmentation in syllables. Total energy and two band width energy. (LE:4000-5000Hz and HE:900-3100Hz) are suitable cues for segmentation. And we testify it through the experiment using connected digit.

  • In recent years, natural energy has attracted growing interest because of environmental concerns. Many studies have been focused on photovoltaic power generation systems because of the ease of use in urban areas. On the conventional system, many photovoltaic modules (PV modules) are connected in series in order to obtain the sufficient DC-bus voltage for generating AC output voltage at the inverter circuit. However, the total generation power on the PV modules sometimes decreases remarkably because of the shadows that partially cover the PV modules. In order to overcome this drawback, an AC module strategy is proposed. On this system, a small power DC-AC utility interactive inverter is mounted on each PV module individually and the inverter operates so as to generate the maximum power from the corresponding PV module. This paper presents a novel flyback-type utility interactive inverter circuit suitable for AC module systems. The feature of the proposed system are, (1) small in volume and light in weight, (2) stable AC current injection, (3) enabling a small DC capacitor. The effectiveness of the proposed system is clarified through the simulation and the experiments.

SIL4 안전관련 시스템에 적합한 출력 모듈의 구조 설계에 대한 연구 (A Study on Architecture Design of Output Module for SIL4 Safety Related System)

  • 본 논문은 안전 무결성 레벨이 4(: Safety Integrity Level 4)인 안전 관련 시스템에 적합한 출력 모듈의 구조를 설계하였고, 설계된 출력 모듈에 요구되는 정량적 목표치의 수준을 제시하였다. 특히 다양한 출력 방식 중에서 릴레이 출력 신호와 아날로그 신호로 구성된 출력 모듈이 안전 기능을 수행하는 시스템의 구성 요소인 경우를 적용하였다. 분석 방법은 FMEA(: Failure Modes and Effect Analysis), FTA(: Fault Tree Analysis) 방식을 이용하였다. 그 결과로 철도 응용 규격인 IEC 62425의 요구사항을 준수하는 SIL4 안전 관련 시스템의 출력 모듈의 구조와 고장빈도인 정량적 목표치를 제시하였다.
