임진정계 경계표지 토퇴의 분포와 목극등 지도에 표시된 '수출(水出)'의 위치 (A Reinvestigation on Key Issues Associated with the Yimjin(1712) Boundary Making and Demarcation: The Distribution of Soil Piles and the Location of 'Suchul(水出)' written on the Mukedeng's Map)

  • 이 논문은 현존하는 임진정계 경계표지 토퇴들의 분포와 특징에 대해 보고하고 있다. 그를 통해 목극등 지도에 표시된 '수출(水出)'의 위치를 확인하고자 하였다. 흑석구 동남안을 따라 설치된 토퇴들 중 마지막 토퇴의 위치는 대략 북위 $42^{\circ}04^{\prime}20.09^{{\prime}{\prime}}$, 동경 $128^{\circ}16^{\prime}08.42^{{\prime}{\prime}}$이다. '도화선 도로변 토퇴군'의 서쪽 시점은 대략 북위 $42^{\circ}02^{\prime}20.14^{{\prime}{\prime}}$, 동경 $128^{\circ}18^{\prime}53.40^{{\prime}{\prime}}$이며, 동쪽 종점의 좌표는 대략 북위 $42^{\circ}01^{\prime}32.97^{{\prime}{\prime}}$, 동경 $128^{\circ}21^{\prime}24.59^{{\prime}{\prime}}$이다. 서쪽 시점에서 약 2.1㎞ 지점까지는 대체적으로 "서-동"의 방향이며, 그 이동은 대체적으로 "서북-동남" 방향이다. 도화선 도로변 토퇴의 총 분포 길이는 실제거리 약 4.2㎞ 정도이다. 목극등 지도에 표시된 '수출'의 좌표는 대략 북위 $42^{\circ}01^{\prime}30.36^{{\prime}{\prime}}$, 동경 $128^{\circ}21^{\prime}3.62^{{\prime}{\prime}}$이다. 동쪽 마지막 토퇴의 동남 방향 지도상 평면 직선거리 약 222m 지점이다. 이러한 결과를 근거로 임진정계에 대한 재해석을 시도하였다.

  • In the literatual study about incurable case of C.V.A, the result were as follow: 1. The expressions of incurable C.V.A are sa(死), bulchi(不治), bulgabokchi(不可復治), hyung(凶), samang(死亡), danbulgu(斷不救), etc. 2. The symptoms of incurable C.V.A are balgiktomal(髮直吐沫),oudusangchan(搖頭上竄),augugijo(魚口氣粗),mokjingjiksi,ansohusungyuegue(眼小喉聲如鋸)myunjukyejang(面赤加粧), hanchulyueju(汗出如珠), sooneuimosang(循衣摸床), sinhonbuloe(神昏不語) dumyunsujokjogabchunghuk(頭面手足靑黑), dongjiguntong(動止筋痛), tohyulhayul(吐血下血), daetodaesa(大吐大瀉), gugaeanhab(口開眼合), suchul(手撤), bihan, yunyoe(遺尿) etc. 3. The pulse of incurable C.V.A is classified with maekgeubidaesakja(脈急而大數者) and maekgindaegeunjil(脈緊大急疾). 4. The symptoms of incurable C.V.A are classified into five viscerals and classify the differences between special symtom of each visceral and proenosis.

Railroad Surface Defect Segmentation Using a Modified Fully Convolutional Network

  • This research aims to develop a deep learning-based method that automatically detects and segments the defects on railroad surfaces to reduce the cost of visual inspection of the railroad. We developed our segmentation model by modifying a fully convolutional network model [1], a well-known segmentation model used for machine learning, to detect and segment railroad surface defects. The data used in this research are images of the railroad surface with one or more defect regions. Railroad images were cropped to a suitable size, considering the long height and relatively narrow width of the images. They were also normalized based on the variance and mean of the data images. Using these images, the suggested model was trained to segment the defect regions. The proposed method showed promising results in the segmentation of defects. We consider that the proposed method can facilitate decision-making about railroad maintenance, and potentially be applied for other analyses.

국내 건설기업의 효율성 및 생산성 분석 (An Analysis of the Efficiency and Productivity of Domestic Construction Companies)

  • This study aims to measure the efficiency and productivity change of 30 domestic construction companies from 2010 to 2018 using data envelopment analysis(DEA) and Malmquist productivity index (MI). In particular, we used the number of employees, capital stock, and non-current assets as input variables, and sales and net income as ouput variables for the analysis. The dataset used for the analysis of efficiency and productivity changes is the employee profile and financial statements for the companies from 2010 to 2018. We found that the MI of the 30 companies is greater than one since 2013. This is because many years of TEC (Technical Efficiency Change) is greater than 1, which means that the productivity index increases as the TEC increases. In addition, the MI value was less than 1, which lowered the productivity of construction firms in 2018. The results of the study may help decision makers to find effective future management plans by analyzing the internal and external factors.

SPaRe: Efficient SQLite Recovery Using Database Schema Patterns

  • In recent times, the Internet of Things (IoT) has rapidly emerged as one of the most influential information and communication technologies (ICT). The various constituents of the IoT together offer novel technological opportunities by facilitating the so-called "hyper-connected world." The fundamental tasks that need to be performed to provide such a function involve the transceiving, storing, and analyzing of digital data. However, it is challenging to handle voluminous data with IoT devices because such devices generally lack sufficient computational capability. In this study, we examine the IoT from the perspective of security and digital forensics. SQLite is a light-weight database management system (DBMS) used in many IoT applications that stores private information. This information can be used in digital forensics as evidence. However, it is difficult to obtain critical evidence from IoT devices because the digital data stored in these devices is frequently deleted or updated. To address this issue, we propose Schema Pattern-based Recovery (SPaRe), an SQLite recovery scheme that leverages the pattern of a database schema. In particular, SPaRe exhaustively explores an SQLite database file and identifies all schematic patterns of a database record. We implemented SPaRe on an iPhone 6 running iOS 7 in order to test its performance. The results confirmed that SPaRe recovers an SQLite record at a high recovery rate.

Cumulative DEA/Malmquist Index 기법을 이용한 정부출연 연구기관 연구개발 효율성 변화 분석 (Analysis of the Change in R&D Efficiency in a Government-Funded Research Institute in Korea : Cumulative DEA/Malmquist Analysis Approach)

  • This paper presents a framework to analyze the change in the research and development (R&D) efficiency of government-funded research institutes (GRIs) in Korea. Cumulative data envelopment analysis/Malmquist index method is utilized to analyze the changes in R&D efficiency of GRIs. Data analysis of the R&D activities of 10 GRIs in Korea Research Council of Fundamental Science & Technology showed that the average R&D efficiency of the 10 GRIs improved from 2009 to 2013. However, the efficiency of a few GRIs decreased in terms of the catch-up index. The proposed framework can help management teams diagnose the current state of R&D activities and determine the efficacy of strategic actions by comparing efficiencies in the past.

An Oligopoly Spectrum Pricing with Behavior of Primary Users for Cognitive Radio Networks

  • Dynamic spectrum sharing is a key technology to improve spectrum utilization in wireless networks. The elastic spectrum management provides a new opportunity for licensed primary users and unlicensed secondary users to efficiently utilize the scarce wireless resource. In this paper, we present a game-theoretic framework for dynamic spectrum allocation where the primary users rent the unutilized spectrum to the secondary users for a monetary profit. In reality, due to the ON-OFF behavior of the primary user, the quantity of spectrum that can be opportunistically shared by the secondary users is limited. We model this situation with the renewal theory and formulate the spectrum pricing scheme with the Bertrand game, taking into account the scarcity of the spectrum. By the Nash-equilibrium pricing scheme, each player in the game continually converges to a strategy that maximizes its own profit. We also investigate the impact of several properties, including channel quality and spectrum substitutability. Based on the equilibrium analysis, we finally propose a decentralized algorithm that leads the primary users to the Nash-equilibrium, called DST. The stability of the proposed algorithm in terms of convergence to the Nash equilibrium is also studied.

Plastic Deformation Behavior of Sintered Fe-Based Alloys for Light-Weight Automotive Components

  • We investigated the effects of the chemical composition and the relative density on the plastic deformation behavior of sintered Fe-based alloys by means of compressive tests. Overall compressive stresses increased as the amount of alloying elements and the relative density were respectively increased. Addition of alloying elements except for Mo increased the yield stress regardless of the relative density. The relationship between the effects of the chemical composition and the relative density and the mean rate of the stress increase was analyzed. A constitutive equation based on the Ludwik equation with the regressed parameters was proposed to predict the compressive true stress-true strain curves of the sintered Fe-based alloys. The K and n values used in the proposed equation were regressed as a function of the alloying elements and the relative density based on the individual K and n values. The plastic deformation behavior predicted using the proposed constitutive equation showed reliable accuracy compared with experimental data.

Design of a Cooperative Voltage Control System Between EMS (VMS) and DMS

  • This paper presents the conceptual design of a cooperative control with Energy Management System (EMS) and Distribution Management System (DMS). This control enables insufficient reactive power reserve in a power transmission system to be supplemented by surplus reactive power in a power distribution system on the basis of the amount of the needed reactive power reserve calculated by the EMS. This can be achieved, because increased numbers of microgrids with distributed energy resources will be installed in the distribution system. Furthermore, the DMS with smart control strategy by using surplus reactive power in the distribution system of the area has been gradually installed in the system as well. Therefore, a kind of hierarchical voltage control and cooperative control scheme could be considered for the effective use of energy resources. A quantitative index to evaluate the current reactive power reserve of the transmission system is also required. In the paper, the algorithm for the whole cooperative control system, including Area-Q Indicator (AQI) as the index for the current reactive power reserve of a voltage control area, is devised and presented. Finally, the performance of the proposed system is proven by several simulation studies.
