  • e-Commerce in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises(SMEs) provides a platform for fair competition between SMEs and large enterprises, and brings economic benefits to SMEs. Thus in the recent years, the e-Commerce in SMEs developed rapidly. However, the overall proportion of e-Commerce in SMEs in China remains low, and many SMEs' decision-makers tend to feel that their business is relatively weak in terms of information construction of scale and financial management, thus they keep the 'wait and see' attitude about the e-Commerce development decisions. Therefore, SMEs are facing three puzzles about e-Commerce application. First, if the companies need to implement e-Commerce, what are the e-Commerce adoption decision factors. Second, what are the successful implementation factors of e-Commerce. And how about the relationship between them. The third is how to measure the implementation effect of e-Commerce. What is the performance evaluation factors of e-Commerce. In this paper, the theoretical and empirical exploration and research are conducted towards these SMEs. Considering the actual situation of SMEs, this paper builds a theoretical model, then puts forward relevant hypothesis. This paper analyzes present influencing factors based on enormous research papers, and finally discovers the critical successful factors in doing business with e-Commerce in SMEs by conducting Structural Equation Modeling. Five critical factors are verified by cases of enterprise by demonstration study. Lastly, we can draw a conclusion that the innovation ability of leaders, the IT support of leaders and e-Commerce strategies are the success factors of e-Commerce for Chinese SMEs.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to determine whether clinicopathological factors are potentially associated with successful breast-conserving surgery (BCS) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and develop a nomogram for predicting successful BCS candidates, focusing on those who are diagnosed with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative tumors during the pre-NAC period. Methods: The training cohort included 239 patients with an HR-positive, HER2-negative tumor (${\geq}3cm$), and all of these patients had received NAC. Patients were excluded if they met any of the following criteria: diffuse, suspicious, malignant microcalcification (extent >4 cm); multicentric or multifocal breast cancer; inflammatory breast cancer; distant metastases at the time of diagnosis; excisional biopsy prior to NAC; and bilateral breast cancer. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted to evaluate the possible predictors of BCS eligibility after NAC, and the regression model was used to develop the predicting nomogram. This nomogram was built using the training cohort (n=239) and was later validated with an independent validation cohort (n=123). Results: Small tumor size (p<0.001) at initial diagnosis, long distance from the nipple (p=0.002), high body mass index (p=0.001), and weak positivity for progesterone receptor (p=0.037) were found to be four independent predictors of an increased probability of BCS after NAC; further, these variables were used as covariates in developing the nomogram. For the training and validation cohorts, the areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve were 0.833 and 0.786, respectively; these values demonstrate the potential predictive power of this nomogram. Conclusion: This study established a new nomogram to predict successful BCS in patients with HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. Given that chemotherapy is an option with unreliable outcomes for this subtype, this nomogram may be used to select patients for NAC followed by successful BCS.

  • Hypochondroplasia (HCH) is an autosomal dominant inherited skeletal dysplasia, usually caused by a heterozygous mutation in the fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 gene (FGFR3). A 27-year-old HCH woman with a history of two consecutive abortions of HCH-affected fetuses visited our clinic for preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). We confirmed the mutation in the proband (FGFR3:c.1620C>A, p.N540K), and established a nested allele-specific PCR and sequence analysis for PGD using single lymphocyte cells. We performed this molecular genetic analysis to detect the presence of mutation among 20 blastomeres from 18 different embryos, and selected 9 embryos with the wild-type sequence (FGFR3:c.1620C). A successful pregnancy was achieved through a frozen-thawed cycle and resulted in the full-term birth of a normal neonate. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of a successful pregnancy and birth using single-cell allele-specific PCR and sequencing for PGD in an HCH patient.

  • Collaborative tagging systems allow users to attach tags to diverse sharable contents in social networks. These tags provide usefulness in reusing the contents for all community members as well as their creators. Three-dimensional data composed of users, items, and tags are used in the collaborative tag-based recommendation. They are generally more voluminous and sparse than two-dimensional data composed of users and items. Therefore, there are many difficulties in applying existing collaborative filtering methods directly to them. Latent factor models, which are also successful in the area of collaborative filtering recently, discover latent features(factors) for explaining observed values and solve problems based on the features. However, establishing the models require much time and efforts. In order to apply the latent factor models to three-dimensional collaborative filtering data, we have to overcome the difficulty of establishing them. This paper proposes various methods for determining preferences of users to items via establishing an intuitive model by assuming tags used for items as latent factors to users and items respectively. They are compared using real data for concluding desirable directions.

  • For successful operation of waterflooding which is one of secondary recovery methods, suitable water injection allocation is important to increase oil recovery. Well allocation factor(WAF) which is one way to quantify the injector and producer connectivity, is utilized to allocate water injection of waterflooding. Static WAF cannot represent the field condition and can induce incorrect value. To compensate for limitation of static WAF, modified WAF which includes several parameters that affect patterns including well radius, distance between wells, and injection rates is proposed. In this study, static and modified WAFs were applied to injection optimization of waterflooding and results by each WAF were compared. In case of modified WAFs, produced water were less and produced oil were more than case of static WAF especially in big change of distance between producer and injector. Therefore, modified WAFs can allocate water injection more efficiently than static WAF.

  • In Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) Application, routing protocol is essential to ensure successful data transmission to all nodes. Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) Protocol is a reactive routing protocol that is mostly used in MANET applications. However, the protocol causes Route Request (RREQ) message flooding issue due to the broadcasting method at the route request stage to find a path to a particular destination, where the RREQ will be rebroadcast if no Request Response (RREP) message is received. A scalable neighbor-based routing (SNBR) protocol was then proposed to overcome the issue. In the SNBR protocol, the RREQ message is only rebroadcast if the number of neighbor nodes less than a certain fix number, known as drop factor. However, since a network always have a dynamic characteristic with a dynamic number of neighbor nodes, the fix drop factor in SNBR protocol could not provide an optimal flooding problem solution in a low dense network environment, where the RREQ message is continuously rebroadcast RREQ message until reach the fix drop factor. To overcome this problem, a new broadcasting method as Dynamic SNBR (DSNBR) is proposed, where the drop factor is determined based on current number of neighbor nodes. This method rebroadcast the extra RREQ messages based on the determined dynamic drop factor. The performance of the proposed DSNBR is evaluated using NS2 and compared with the performance of the existing protocol; AODV and SNBR. Simulation results show that the new routing protocol reduces the routing request overhead, energy consumption, MAC Collision and enhances end-to-end delay, network coverage ratio as a result of reducing the extra route request messages.

  • Viable cells of periodontal ligament would be an important factor for the successful replantation of an avulsed tooth. Therefore, it is critical to choose the storage medium for the preservation of traumatically avulsed teeth. Growth factors and hormones could be considered for the therapeutic application of the maintenance of viable periodontal ligament fibroblasts (PDLFs). Epidermal growth factor (EGF) has been suggested as an important player for the regeneration and wound healing process on other tissues. Therefore, EGF was evaluated for the therapeutic application on avulsed teeth. In addition, the synergic effect of EGF with tri-iodothyronine (T3) and heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor (HB-EGF). The cell proliferation of PDLFs was determined by MTT assay and increased dose-dependently up to 10 ng/ml in the presence of EGF. Maximum cellular growth was shown at the concentration of 10 ng/ml EGF. Also, EGF promoted the wound healing of PDLFs examined by in vitro wound healing assay. Combined effects of EGF with T3 or HB-EGF on the proliferation of PDLFs were also studied. Interestingly, EGF showed the synergic effect on the proliferation of PDLFs with T3 and HB-EGF. To find out the mechanism of the synergic effect of EGF and T3, the effect of T3 on the expression of endogenous EGF receptor was determined by RT-PCR. The result was that T3 enhanced the expression of EGF receptor in PDLFs. It suggested that EGF might be a good choice for a therapeutic application, which can be used as combination with T3 and HB-EGF.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a rational and scientific damage calculation model in relation to damages caused by bid rigging in construction projects. Previous studies and precedents in relation to calculating damages from bid rigging suggest that the main issue was the lack of consideration in standards for deciding successful bids, selection of inadequate standard comparative markets, insufficiency in analyzing the appropriateness of competitive bid price influence factors, and absence of calculation model verification. In order to improve on these issues, a damage calculation method on alternative tenders for construction projects was proposed. For this calculation model, first, a standard market adequate to the successful bid selection standards was determined, second, an appropriate factor was selected by analyzing the correlation between competitive bid price influence factors, and third, a regression analysis was conducted on the selected factor. Lastly, this was demonstrated through verification of appropriateness, significance & normality of the proposed model and application of actual bid rigging cases. Through the proposed calculation model, this study seeks to serve as a base to prevent opportunity damages for parties involved in related court cases by early resolution of disputes and relief from issues of unfair damage burdens on a particular party.
