Background: Owing to the increase in the aging population, the health problems of the elderly have become important social problems. Social support has a positive effect on improving the quality of life and prolonging the life of elderly people. It is one of the major factors that affects the oral health status of elderly people. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between oral health status and social support in elderly people using representative data. Methods: In this study, data from a community health survey in 2015 involving 63,929 elderly people aged over 65 years were analyzed. T-test and ANOVA analyses were performed to compare the general characteristics of and perception about social support. Additionally, a linear regression analysis was performed to confirm the relationship between perceptions about social support and subjective oral health status. Results: We found that sex, age, household income, education level, the presence of a spouse, existence of an unmet dental need, and regular oral check-up had a significant effect on subjective oral health status (p<0.05). In addition, when controlled for all factors, social support has a significant impact on subjective oral health status. Conclusion: The findings indicate that social support is associated with the subjective oral health status of Korean elderly. This suggests that community-level or government investment is required to improve the oral health of the elderly. In particular, policy interventions such as the establishment of facilities that promote social networks, especially facilities based on friendship networks, are needed.

The subjects were 65,528 youths in 798 schools monitored in the Twelfth Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey in 2016. Methods : The general characteristics consisted of 9 items including sex, grade, and academic performance. The academic performance and economic status were restructured into "upper, middle, lower". Subjective health perception and subjective oral health perception were reorganized as "health", "normal", "no health". The sub-areas of oral health behavior include five times of daily brushing during the day yesterday. The number of brushing times was "0", "1-2", "3", "more than 4" After lunch at school, brushing was restructured as "always," "sometimes," "not." The oral health status subscale consisted of 6 items including tooth breakage and toothache at the time of eating. Result : Tooth fracture(43.7 %), pain in mastication(43.7 %), tooth tingling(47.4 %), gum pain and bleeding(45 %), pain in buccal mucosa(43.8 %) and halitosis(46.6 %) were rare in adolescent having healthy oral health status cognitively(P<.001). Nosymptom adolescents without dental sealant showed low tooth fracture(0.64 times), pain in mastication(0.67 times), tooth tingling(0.59 times), gum pain and bleeding(0.84 times), pain in buccal mucosa(0.76 times), and halitosis(0.90 times). Nosymptom adolescents without scaling showed low tooth fracture(0.88 times), pain in mastication(1.03 times), tooth tingling(0.82 times), gum pain and bleeding(0.64 times), pain in buccal mucosa(0.70 times) and halitosis(0.82 times). Conclusion : This study revealed that oral health status is correlated with oral health behavior. Development of educational media and program, and aggressive promotion required to establish oral health Korean adolescent.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of oral state and health condition among elderly people. The subjects in this study were 220 senior citizens who were randomly selected from among dwellers in Eunpyeong-gu and Jongno-gu, Seoul. A survey was conducted by one-on-one interview to find out their oral state and health condition. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS 10.0 program, and variance analysis, correlation analysis and regression procedure were employed. The findings of this study were as follows: First, Regarding subjective oral health state, 52.3 percent of the elderly people, more than the half, considered their mouth to be in good health. The number of their mean remaining permanent teeth was 14.85, which was one of the indexes to indicate their objective oral state. Second, Concerning their abnormal oral health experience, 75 percent didn't feel that their masticatory force was good enough, and 55.9 percent felt pain in their teeth, 70.0 percent suffered from mouth dryness. Those fact showed that a lot of the elderly people felt there was something wrong with their oral cavity, and the unhealthy oral state made it difficult for them to eat food, as their masticatory force weakened and they couldn't get a good taste for food. Third, Those who viewed their oral cavity as healthy thought that they were in good shape, and there was a significant correlational relationship between their subjective oral and overall physical health states. Their own perception of oral state made a difference to their subjective health status, and the subjective oral health was significantly related to ADL as well, which implied that their ADL was different according to the way they looked at their own oral health status.
Purpose: This study was conducted to provide basic data for a health promotion program by analyzing the effects of high school students' mental health-related factors on oral symptom experiences. Methods: This study included 24,833 high school students who participated in the screening and health survey in the "17th (2021) Adolescent Health Behavior Survey." SPSS software (SPSS Statistics ver. 21.0; IBM) was used for statistical analysis. Multiple sample logistic regression analysis was performed. The significance level was set to 0.05. Results: The result of the analysis on the effect of mental health revealed that oral symptom experience was low in students without depression and suicidal thoughts. Oral symptom experience was high in students with stress perception. Additionally, the experience of oral symptoms was low when there was sufficient subjective sleep. Conclusion: Therefore, it is necessary to develop a customized oral health education program for early detection of oral symptoms and oral health promotion in high school students. Furthermore, it suggests the need for strategies and continuous oral health guidance to practice proper oral health habits to maintain healthy oral conditions.

This study aims to analyze the relationship with oral health status through oral examinations, microorganism tests, and surveys of college students and present basic data necessary for the development of oral health education programs to prevent. Results of students who did not receive brushing education showed high motile activities of microorganism, and there was a significant relationship in which students with a large amount of microorganism subjectively felt more tooth pain. Symptoms of halitosis were greater in the DT, there were differences in the type of bacteria and the amount of bacteria in the MT, and oral health was worse if oral aids were not used in the DMFT index. Therefore, it was confirmed that oral health behavior, subjective oral health awareness, and the amount of microorganism had a significant relationship with oral health status. It will be necessary to develop and share and spread customized oral health education media for each life cycle.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception, practice status and perceived oral health awareness of oral hygiene products in high school students and to utilize it as basic data for the development of programs that can use the correct oral hygiene products. The results of the self -filling questionnaire survey of 260 high school students in K area were as follows. (P <0.05), which showed a positive correlation with subjective oral health perception (p <0.05). his implies the need for education of oral hygiene products for proper practice in using oral hygiene products. The use of oral hygiene products was the highest in 1/3, but in practice, the total use was highest. It is thought that oral health education program that can affect not only the oral health education but also the practice is needed. For the students who have difficulty in accessing medical institutions due to their studies, the way to acquire oral health education is more important than the development of public health education programs and the implementation of oral health education.
The purpose of this study was to provide data on the development of educational programs to maintain oral health in adolescence by identifying the relevance of health behavior and symptom to adolescents. The subjects of this study were 27,919 high school students' using the 15th (2019) Youth Health Behavior Online Survey. The logistic regression analysis was used to identify the factors influencing oral symptoms.
