  • Nonparametric tests for comparing two treatments when data are subject to unequal patterns of censorship are discussed. Best precedence test proposed by Slud can be viewed as a nice alternative test comparing with weighted log-rank tests, not to mention the advantage of short experimental period. This research revises some missing parts of Slud's test and examines the asymptotic power of it under the nonproportional hazard alternatives through the simulation. The simulation studies show best precedence test has reasonable power in the sense of robustness under nonproportional hazard alternatives and could be recommended at such situation.

  • Various statistical methods for assessment of equivalence in average bioavailabilities have been developed under the assumption that the intra-subject variabilities for the test and reference formulations are the same. Without the assumption, assessing the equivalence in average bioavailabilites does not imply that the two formulations are therapeutically equivalent and exchangeable. The most commonly used test procedure for equality of variabilites in 2$\times$2 crossover experiment is the so called Pitman-Morgan's adjusted F test based on the model without carryover effects (Chow and Liu(1992)). In this paper, a Bayesian method based on the Intrinsic Bayes Factor is proposed, which can be applied to the model with carryover effects.

  • The Category Fluency Test (CFT) is a widely used verbal fluency test. The standard measure of scoring the test is the number of distinct words that a subject generates during the test. Recently, other measures have also been proposed to evaluate performance, such as clustering and switching. In this study, we examine clusters and switches can be assessed using word similarity measures. Based on these measures, we can distinguish between subject groups.

  • Five key items were used to create an economical and physically small impact test device for concrete panels subject to high speed collision: an air-compressive system, carbon steel pipe, solenoid valve, carrier and carrier-blocking, and velocity measurement device. The impact test device developed can launch a 20 mm steel spherical projectile at over 200 m/s with measured impact and/or residual velocity. Purpose for development was to conduct preliminary materials tests, prior to large-scale collision experiments. In this paper, the design process of the small impact test device was discussed in detail.

  • There is close relationship between intraoral structural anomaly and speech- functional problem. Patient with cleft palate patients & ankyloglossia is a typical example, patients with structural anomaly is repaired toward normal structure by operation. Ankyloglossia may cause functional limitation even after adequate surgical treatment speech disorders being one of them. Interindividually, they vary a lot, showing typical articulation specifics. The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare speech for children with ankyloglossia and general public, to determine whether ankyloglossia is associated with articulation problem. We wanted to present criteria for indication of frenectomy. The group of subject is composed of 10 childrens with ankyloglossia and articulation problem, visited the Oral and Maxillofacial surgical unit, dental hospital, Chonbuk university. The average age is 5 Y 7M, M : F ratio is 8 : 2 at the time of speech test. Control group is composed of 10 members without oral structural anomaly. The average age is 5 Y 10M, M : F ratio is 3 : 7 at the time of speech test. Outcomes were measured the PPVT(Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test), PCAT(Picture Consonant Articulation Test), Nasometer II test result obtained each group, statistically measured by Mann-whitney's U Test. There was no difference for 'chronological age-age equivalent' between two group. There was significant difference for 'consonant accuracy' between two group, showed more lower scores in subject group. There was more 'consonant error' in subject group, mostly showed/1/,/s/. A major modality of 'consonant error' was mostly distortion and replacement. There was no significant difference between two group for nasality.

  • This study investigated elementary teachers' subject matter knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge of fractions. The subject for data collection were 12 in-service elementary teachers and data were collected through written test problems. The finding imply that most elementary teachers understand fraction construct as part-whole, show low level of understanding of operator, ratio, and measurement constructions and word problem posing, using models, and developing the algorithms to divide fractions. The research results indicates that experienced teachers possess poor knowledge of fractions against novice teachers.

  • The classical two-period, two-sequence crossover design is no longer sufficient to assess various demands in a bioequivalence study. For instance, to estimate the within-subject and between-subject variances of test and reference formulations separately, it is necessary to use a replicate design in which each subject receives at least the reference formulation in two periods. Several designs were studied to satisfy the demands. It is provided a unified Bayesian approach applicable to those study designs. The benefit of the method in the bioequivalence study is discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the relationship among the Dynamic Gait Index(DGI), Berg Balance Scale(BBS) scores, Timed Up & Go Test(TUG), and subject characteristics. The subjects were fifteen stroke with hemiplegia were chosen in the Konyang University Hospital. Dynamic balance was measured Dynamic Gait Index(DGI), and balance was measured using Berg Balance Scale(BBS). Timed Up & Go Test(TUG) was used to evaluate functional mobility. Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation. There was significant correlated among Dynamic Gait Index(DGI), Berg Balance Scale(BBS) and Timed Up & Go Test(TUG)(p<.01). The correlation among subject characteristics and Dynamic Gait Index(DGI), Berg Balance Scale(BBS), Timed Up & Go Test(TUG) score was significant result in r = -.527 from Dynamic Gait Index(DGI) and pathogenesis(p<.05). There were no significant statistical differences among the types of spasticity and Dynamic Gait Index(DGI), Berg Balance Scale(BBS), Timed Up & Go Test(TUG). The comparison among the sex, type of hemiplegia, pain, pathogenesis and Dynamic Gait Index(DGI), Berg Balance Scale(BBS), Timed Up & Go Test(TUG) score was significant result in pathogenesis(p<.05). The results of this study showed that there was high correlations among the Dynamic Gait Index(DGI) and balance test of people with stroke.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the clothing buying behaviorial pattern and the differences of clothing buying behaviors by the demographic variables. For the measurement of clothing buying behavior, the researcher developed a questionnaire. This questionnaire was adjusted by preliminary test. Data were collected from 494 women dwelling in Seoul, Busan, Daegu. For statistical analysis, frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, paired t-test, $X^2-test$, one way analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range test were used. The results were as follows: 1. The $57\%$ of the subject group planned their clothing purchase in advance, ana their friends affected clothing buying behaviors more than other fashion information sources. The store in which the subject group purchased clothing most frequently was a department store. In clothing selection, hygienic factor and aesthetic factor were shown as important factors. 2, There were significant differences in clothing buying behaviors according to demographic variables.

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the impact of noise on subject accomplishment as well as physical/mental load, and evaluates the effects of noise-masking and earplug. 15 college students participate in the test, and the comparison is performed by executing four projects according to conditional categories of noise environments; control condition, noise condition, earplug condition, and noise-masking condition. Noise in the field site of the H manufacturer was used as the noise source, the general job aptitude test which consist of linguistic ability, math ability, perception ability, reasoning ability was used as the task of this project. To estimate physical/mental load evaluation, we used the heart rate R-R interval, Criteria flicker fusion frequency(CFF) and measured NASA-TLX workload for subjective evaluation. As the research outcome, it is shown that there is a meaningful difference for the project task score, dropping rate of CFF, the heart rate, and NASA-TLX subjective evaluation score according to conditions of noise environment. Therefore, the impact of noise on capability of subject accomplishment as well as physical/mental load was confirmed along with the effects of using earplug and noise-masking.
