만성 역류성 식도염 동물 모델에 대한 황백(黃柏) 물 추출물의 식도 점막 보호 효과 (The Protective Effect of Water Extract of Phellodendri Cortex in Chronic Reflux Esophagitis-induced Rats)

  • Objective : Reflux esophagitis is a disease caused by the reflux of gastric acid and inflammation due to unstable gastroesophageal sphincter. The aim of the present study was to clarify the effect of Phellodendri Cortex (PC) on chronic reflux esophagitis (CRE) in rats. Methods : The anti-oxidant activity of PC was measured by total polyphenol, total flavonoid contents, 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), and 2, 2'-azinobis-3-ethyl-enzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) radical scavenging activity. A CRE was established surgically in SD rats. And then CRE rats were treated with water or PC 200 mg/kg body weight for 14 days. Besides, the anti-oxidant and inflammatory protein levels were evaluated using western blotting. Results : PC reduced esophagus tissues injury. The total polyphenol (36.05 ± 0.25 mg/g) and total flavonoid (72.90 ± 0.61 mg/g) of PC showed a high content. PC strongly reduced radical scavenging activities (DPPH IC50 43.58 ± 1.54 ㎍/㎖; ABTS IC50 36.75 ± 0.35 ㎍/㎖). Moreover, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and peroxynitrite (ONOO-) levels in serum, the protein expression of inducible nitric oxide synthases (iNOS) were significantly reduced. In addition, the protein expression of NADPH oxidases related to oxidative stress were significantly reduced in PC compared to CRE control. PC effectively reduced inflammatory factors including, TNF-α, and IL-6 via NF-κBp65 inactivation through the inhibition of p-IκBα and increased anti-oxidant enzyme such as HO-1, SOD, catalase, and GPx-1/2 via Nrf2 activation. Conclusions : Taken together, these results show that PC can alleviate the esophageal mucosal ulcer though the inhibition of NF-κB inflammatory and the enhancement of Nrf2 anti-oxidant pathway.

흑타리버섯으로부터 항치매성 Acetylcholinesterase 저해물질의 생산 및 PC12 신경세포사 저해 효과 (Production of Anti-dementia Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor from Pleurotus ostreatus (Heuktari) and Inhibitory Effect on PC12 Neuron Apoptosis)

  • 본 연구에서는 버섯으로부터 항치매성 건강소재를 개발하고자 주요 식용 및 약용 버섯들의 물과 에탄올 추출물들을 제조한 후 이들의 수율과 acetylcholinesterase 저해활성을 측정하여 우수 버섯을 선발하였다. 또한 선발된 우수버섯에 함유되어있는 항치매성 acetylcholinesterase 저해 물질의 추출 최적조건을 검토하였고, 이 저해물질을 부분정제한 후 PC12 신경세포사 저해 활성을 측정하여 항치매 효능을 검증하였다. 시료 버섯들의 물 추출물과 70% 에탄올 추출물을 각각 제조하여 이들의 acetylcholinesterase 저해 활성을 측정한 결과 물 추출물의 수율이 40%로 높고 acetylcholinesterase 저해 활성도 20.2% (IC50: 12.4 mg)로 우수한 흑타리버섯을 acetylcholinesterase 저해물질을 함유한 우수 버섯으로 최종 선발하였다. 흑타리버섯 자실체중의 항치매성 acetylcholinesterase 저해물질의 추출 최적 조건은 흑타리버섯 분말을 1:30으로 증류수에 현탁 시킨 후 30℃에서 6시간 추출하는 조건이었다. 흑타리버섯 자실체의 항치매성 acetylcholinesterase 저해물질을 한외여과와 gel 여과 등으로 부분정제한 후 신경세포 PC12의 세포치사 억제에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과 부분정제 물질을 50 ㎍/mL 처리했을 때 세포치사율이 17.0%로 낮아져서 흑타리버섯 부분정제물이 치매 진행과정을 억제하거나 지연시키는 효과를 보이는 것으로 사료된다.

청소년의 인터넷 정보윤리의식 및 영향요인에 관한 연구 (Information Ethics on the Net among Youths and Related Variables)

  • This study is aimed to investigate ethics cognition to information of youths who are main users of computers, but yet not built up the own ethics and the sense of value, as ethical problems are raised in information-oriented society. The research was focused on youths ethics cognition to information according to contact of multimedia pornography, surreptitious use of others and abusion of indecent languages in chatting. The survey was conducted to 520 students from middle and high schools in Jeju region and analyzed Probit Regression. The major results of this study are as follows; First, most of youths possess own-computers, and use Internet. Second, looking into experiencing or not according to sub-spheres of ethics cognition to information, the experience of contacting multimedia pornography was few. but the primary place of using it was a house. Most of youths approach multimedia pornography in awareness of a ban on youths' contact. The experience of surreptitious use of others was less than other spheres, and mainly only once. The number of youths who have an experience of abusing indecent languages was less than that of youths who don't have, but the frequency of was high when the youths have an experience. Third, the experience or no experience on each sub-sphere has a significant difference on personal-relative variables such as gender, age, education levels, number of siblings, academic records, personal expenses, relationship with friends. The experience or no experience on each sub-sphere has a meaningful influence upon family-relative variables such as father's education levels, Job, mother's age, education levels, employment, family type, monthly household expense. The experience or no experience on each sub-sphere has a meaningful influence upon PC-relative variables such as deviation experience in PC rooms, the experience of request for age confirmation(I.D. card), average use hour of PC rooms. The experience or no experience on each sub-sphere has a more meaningful influence on personal-relative variables and PC-relative variables than family-relative variables.

Effects of functional nutrients on chicken intestinal epithelial cells induced with oxidative stress

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the protective effects of functional nutrients including various functional amino acids, vitamins, and minerals on chicken intestinal epithelial cells (cIECs) treated with oxidative stress. The cIECs were isolated from specific pathogen free eggs. Cells were exposed to 0 mM supplement (control), 20 mM threonine (Thr), 0.4 mM tryptophan (Trp), 1 mM glycine (Gly), 10 μM vitamin C (VC), 40 μM vitamin E (VE), 5 μM vitamin A (VA), 34 μM chromium (Cr), 0.42 μM selenium (Se), and 50 μM zinc (Zn) for 24 h with 6 replicates for each treatment. After 24 h, cells were further incubated with fresh culture medium (positive control, PC) or 1 mM H2O2 with different supplements (negative control, NC and each treatment). Oxidative stress was measured by cell proliferation, whereas tight junction barrier function was analyzed by fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-dextran permeability and transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER). Results indicated that cell viability and TEER values were less (p < 0.05) in NC treatments with oxidative stress than in PC treatments. In addition, FITC-dextran values were greater (p < 0.05) in NC treatments with oxidative stress than in PC treatments. The supplementations of Thr, Trp, Gly, VC, and VE in cells treated with H2O2 showed greater (p < 0.05) cell viability than the supplementation of VA, Cr, Se, and Zn. The supplementations of Trp, Gly, VC, and Se in cells treated with H2O2 showed the least (p < 0.05) cellular permeability. In addition, the supplementation of Thr, VE, VA, Cr, and Zn in cells treated with H2O2 decreased (p < 0.05) cellular permeability. At 48 h, the supplementations of Thr, Trp, and Gly in cells treated with H2O2 showed the greatest (p < 0.05) TEER values among all treatments, and the supplementations of VC and VE in cells treated with H2O2 showed greater (p < 0.05) TEER values than the supplementations of VA, Cr, Se, and Zn in cells treated with H2O2. In conclusion, Thr, Trp, Gly, and VC supplements were effective in improving cell viability and intestinal barrier function of cIECs exposed to oxidative stress.

유도결합플라즈마 표면 처리 및 SnO2 증착에 따른 폴리카보네이트 특성 연구 (Influence of Inductive Coupled Plasma Treatment and SnO2 Deposition on the Properties of Polycarbonate)

  • Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) treatment with argon and a mixture of argon and oxygen gases has been used to modify the surface of polycarbonate (PC) substrates. The results showed that the surface contact angle was inversely proportional to the plasma discharge power and that the mixed-gas plasma (gas flow 10:10 sccm, discharge power 60 W) decreased the surface contact angle as low as $18.3^{\circ}$, indicating a large increase in the surface hydrophilicity. In addition, $SnO_2$ thin films deposited on the PC substrate effectively enhanced the ICP plasma treatment, and could also enhance the usefulness of PC in the inner parts of automobiles.

Effect of O2 Partial Pressure on AlOx Thin Films Prepared by Reactive Ion Beam Sputtering Deposition

  • The barrier and optical properties of AlO$_{x}$ thin films on polycarbonate deposited by Reactive Ion Beam Sputtering (RIBS) were investigated at different oxygen partial pressure. We measured the deposition rate of AlO$_{x}$ thin films. As the oxygen partial pres-sure increased, the deposition rate increased then decreased. The changes of deposition rate are associated with the properties of deposited films. The properties of deposited AlO$_{x}$ thin films were studied using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Scan-ning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). Optimum deposition parameters were found for fabricat-ing aluminum oxide thin films with high optical transparency for visible light and low Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR). The optical transmittance of AlO$_{x}$ thin film deposited on polycarbonate (PC) showed the same value of bare PC.bare PC.

TiO2 Ceramic Filler가 혼합된 젤상의 PAN 고분자 전해질을 이용한 리튬금속 이차전지의 특성 (Characteristics of Lithium Metal Secondary Battery Using PAN Gel-electrolyte Mixed with TiO2 Ceramic Filler)

  • Ethylene carbonate(EC), propylene carbonate(PC), dimethyl carbonate(DMC)의 가소제와 $LiPF_6$ 리튬염 및 $TiO_2$ 충진제를 이용하여 젤형 polyacrylonitrile(PAN) 전해질을 제조하였다. 고분자 전해질의 전기화학적 안정성, 이온전도도, 리튬전극과의 호환성 등의 전기화학적 특성과 기계적 특성을 조사하였다. 이러한 고분자 전해질을 이용하여 조립된 리튬이차전지의 충방전 특성을 조사하였다 EC, PC 혼합 가소제를 이용하여 제조된 고분자 전해질은 $TiO_2$가 첨가됨에 따라 고분자 전해질이 견딜 수 있는 최대 하중이 2배 가깝게 증가하였다. EC, PC혼합 가소제와 $TiO_2$가 혼합된 고분자 전해질은 상온에서 $2\times10^{-3}S/cm$의 이온전도도를 나타내었고, 4.5V까지 전기화학적으로 안정하였다. 리튬금속을 사용하여 제조된 셀의 임피던스 결과에서도 EC, PC 혼합 가소제와 $TiO_2$가 혼합된 고분자 전해질이 20일 동안 계면 저항 $130\Omega$으로 가장 안정하였다. $LiCoO_2$ 양극과 리튬 음극, $TiO_2$가 혼합된 고분자 전해질로 구성된 전지는 충방전효율이 1C 방전속도에서 $90\%$를 나타내었다.

TeOx(x=1.42)/SiO2로 구성된 광가변적인 1차원 광자결정 연구 (A Study on the Photo Reversible One-dimensional Photonic Crystals Composed of TeOx(x=1.42)/SiO2)

  • One-dimensional photonic crystals (1D PCs) were fabricated by RF sputtering technique on p-Si (100), and fused quartz substrates. The 1D PCs structures consisted of $TeO_x$ (x=1.42), and $SiO_2$ with the difference refractive index. In order to estimate the effect on a defect level within 1D PCs structures, samples were prepared with both normal, and defect mode. The structural and optical properties were confirmed by Scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Ultraviolet visible near-infrared spectrophotometer (UV-VIS-NIR) respectively. In the case of a 1D PC normal mode without defect layer, it had a photonic band gap (PBG) in the near infrared (NIR) region. In the case of a 1D PC defect mode with defect layer, it had a sharp transmission band owing to a defect level, and moved towards the longer wavelength after exposing He-Cd laser with a wavelength of 325 nm.

투명 폴리카보네이트 보호코팅을 위한 산화알루미늄 박막 (Al2O3 Coating on Transparent Polycarbonate Substrates for the Hard-coating Application)

  • Transparent aluminum oxide films were deposited on polycarbonate (PC) substrates by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) assisted reactive sputtering. the oxygen flow rate was regulated by controlling the target voltage with a proportional integrate derivative controller. The PC substrate was treated with plasma prior to the deposition in order to the enhance the adhesive strength of the $Al_2O_3$ film. The characteristics of hardness, structure, density, transmittance, deposition rate, surface roughness and residual stress were investigated to estimate the possibility for the hard coating.

베트남 순환자원을 활용한 지반주입재 개발을 위한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study for the Development of Soil Injection Materials using Vietnam's Circulating Resources)

  • 본 연구에서는 베트남에서 발생하는 4종의 플라이애시에 대하여, XRF, 강열감량, SEM, PSA분석을 실시하였고, 국내 발생 화력발전 플라이애시와 비교하였다. 그 결과 PC보일러 플라이애시의 경우, SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3의 함량이 약 70 %를 차지하여 국내 플라이애시와 비슷한 화학조성을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 베트남 고로슬래그와 국내 고로슬래그를 비교한 결과 유사한 품질기준과 성능을 나타내는 것으로 확인되었다. 베트남에서 수급한 4종의 플라이애시를 이용하여 지반주입재 배합시험을 실시하였으며, 양생 28일 기준 압축강도는 7.60~13.25 MPa로 나타났다. 가장 압축강도가 크게 나타난 Vinh Tan 플라이애시 원료를 선정하여 약액주입공법용 지반주입재 원료로 활용하였다. 약액주입공법의 배합은 급결재로서 규산소다 3호와 실리카졸을 사용하였다. Vinh Tan 플라이애시를 사용한 지반주입재의 겔타임과 호모겔 압축강도를 측정한 결과 국내 건설현장 적용기준을 만족하는 것으로 나타나, Vinh Tan 플라이애시의 경우 약액주입공법용 지반주입재로 활용이 가능할 것으로 사료되었다.
