The purpose of this study was to describe mother -infant interacting behavior patterns related to newborn infant feeding and to explore the mother's cultural belief about their infant. The data collection was conducted by observation and interview. Twenty-five mothers and their newborn infants who were normally delivered and were also planned to breast feed were comprised as the subjects of this study. All subjects were interviewed and observed individuaily at 1 to 5 days after the delivery at the hospital, mid -wife's clinic, Maternal Child Health Center and their home throughout the country from remote area to big city, The observation data were recorded with symbolic letter on a recording sheet newly developed as a result of preliminary study. The interview data were taperecorded and then recorded in narrative form. Mother - infant interaction behaviors in early feeding period were analyzed based on 19 analytic sub-categories and their composing elements. Unit of analysis were mother, infant and mother -infant dyad. 8 analytic categories draw from the data. Each were preparation, instrument, interaction inducing, evaluation referred to mother's behavior, preparation, instrument, interaction inducing referred to infant's behavior and synchronic behaviors referred to mother - infant dyad. Frequencies of behavior items based on the categories were converted to percent. The result showed that in mother's preparation behavior, the breast condition of Korean mother can be an affecting factor for mother - infant interaction during feeding, and vocalization behavior was observed most frequently in interaction inducing behavior while the least frequent behavior observed was contacting. Subcultural characteristics of mother - infant interaction behaviors were analyzed for their relationships between groups of mothers who have lived in remote area vs urban area, and who were multipara vs primipara. Using a chi -square test, there were statistically significant relationships in the activity of psychological readiness in preparation behavior and the movement of extremities for the position of instrumental behavior in both groups. However, interaction inducing behaviors were not related with statistical significance in any set of groups. Accomplishment of marriage, bonding and emotional mediation of family members were the categories related to mother's cultural belief about the infant in aspect of functional values. Infant at birth is considered little more than a biological organism without social capabilities. Although the newborn infant is still be attached to his mother, he makes his mother extend her territoriality. The mother's interacting behavior toward her infant based on those beliefs appeared task oriented, separative behavioral series. On the other hand, it was seen that infant reacted independently to his mother's behavior by the in-nate perceptual abilities. Those independent behavioral series of mother and infant on the feeding situation were synchronized at any moment. Nurses are In a unique position to teach mothers about their infant's capabilities and help reducing some of uncertainty about infant's behaviors. Study results indicated that the informations infant's social capabilities and breast feeding should be given to the mothers. The results of this study have several implications for nursing. First, the study results will be used as fundamental resources for the development of the assessment tool about the early mother - infant interaction. Second, the results could be a relevant information in the fied. I of maternal child nursing education as real and useful data. Third, the behavioral patterns of early mother - infant interaction which were classified based on the qualitative analysis could be used for nursing theory development as very fundamental data.
This paper aims at figuring out specific characteristics of affective attitude of gifted and talented in information, predicting follow-up activities and desirable direction of learning. Based on the analysis of this paper as educational directions and suggestions for elementary gifted and talented students in information are as follows: First, in gender ratio of gifted and talented in information, including the fact that ratio of boys is high, there remain the previous prejudice of higher information capability and it seems that girls who depend on external factors, parents and teachers should make more efforts to help girls trust their own capability in information science and lead them to give more value to attribution of efforts for achievement in information science. Second, as grade is higher, motivation to learn information science and attitude for success in information science among sub-elements of attitude to information science, motivation to seed positive recognition to higher graders is required. Third, in screening and selecting gifted and talented students in information, attitude to information science should be considered as main cause and the existing gifted and talented students in information should be prompted to improve their attitude to information science with value on effort for information science.
The purpose of this study was to analyze of high school students' metacognition and scientific attitude according to gender and academic track. Also it was to investigate relationship between metacognition and scientific attitude. Data were gathered through questionnaires of 220 high school students. In the result of analysis on metacognition according to gender, the mean of male group was higher than the score of female group. The result of t-test wasn't showed statistically significant difference of two groups. In analysis on metacognition according to academic track, the score of science track students were higher than its liberal art track. And the difference between two groups was significant. The result of analysis on scientific attitude according to gender showed no difference between male group and female group. But there was significant difference between two groups in analysis on scientific attitude according to academic track. Also there was high correlation between sub-elements of metacognition and scientific attitude. The result of multiple regression analysis revealed the influence of moniter, regulation, criticism and openness. The results of this study can be utilized as basic data to develop teaching-learning strategy for cultivating high school students' metacognition and scientific attitude. Follow-up studies are needed for analyzing the relations of factors on science learning.

The Q&A service of the official Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) webpage was installed in 2000 and have been actively used since then. In this paper, we analyze the questions asked through the Q&A service and the number of inquiries with the aid of statistical methods. We also study the contents of the questions. Specifically, we have created statistics of questions and inquiries that go monthly and yearly, and have developed categories to analyze the characteristics of questions in regards to their cognitive aspects. Each question is categorized into two elements based on their recognitive aspect: science knowledge or science study. Each element also has sub-categories that help readers understand the characteristics of the questions. For the analysis, we used a sample consisted of questions from July to December, 2004. Through this study, we achieved a better understanding of the questions asked by the Q&A service. We are planning to improve the quality of the Q&A service by extending the size of the FAQ(frequently asked questions). Throughout this study, we find that the number of questions are increasing with time, and the overall quality of the questions is improving. As we expect the number of people using our Q&A service to increase and the questions to get more difficult to answer, development of improved content is required.
A coupled three-dimensional pile group analysis method was developed by considering complex behavior of sub-structures (pile-soil-cap) which included soil nonlinearity and the behavior of super-structure (pier). As an intermediate analysis method between FBPier 3.0 and Group 0.0, it took advantages of each method. Among the components of a pile group, individual piles were modeled with stiffness matrices of pile heads and soils with nonlinear load-transfer curves (t-z, q-z and p-y curves). A pile cap was modeled with modified four-node flat shell elements and a pier with three-dimensional beam element, so that a unified analysis could be possible. A nonlinear analysis method was proposed in this study with a mixed incremental and iteration techniques. The proposed method for a pile group subjected to axial and lateral loads was compared with othe. analytical methods (i.e., Group 6.0 and FBPier 3.0). It was found that the proposed method could predict the complex behavior of a pile group well, even though piles were modelled simply in this study by using pile head stiffness matrices which were different from the method introduced in FBPier 3.0.

The Korean government has been encouraging 'continuous' post-pump priming project management through relevant local personnel planning, action, and management, upon the selection of 68 sites for urban regeneration as part of the New Deal Project. This study assessed the utilization characteristics of containers, the socio-experimental temporary occupation facilities, as a tool for 'sustainable' urban regeneration. This is to identify the potential limitations of urban regeneration by the utilization of containers as public sector temporary occupation facilities and to provide adequate directions based on its efficacy. By comparing three Korean cases with the Japanese WaiWai project, in terms of 10 elements, the preoccupations with the social trend and scenery, and undifferentiated functions of the facilities focusing on the commercial or working aspects have been identified as limitations of Korean cases. Based on the analyses, the following are suggested as plausible approaches to utilize socio-experimental containers for sustainable urban regeneration: 1. Planning and management should be done by the same organization because the absence of the planning party's participation in the management likely leads to the pursuit of only profits. 2. Diversification and combinations of different utilization purposes of a single site and numerous planning of experimental container uses are in need. 3. Accommodations of heavy commercial uses lead to a decline in the continuity of follow-up projects and a change in the urban regeneration directions. Therefore, it is important to include a public socio-experimental program rather than a simple commercial or promotion program for the following urban renewal project.

The goal of cyber teaching is to reduce the cost of private lessons, dissipate the educational disparity amongst regions, make classes apt to the given level of every group of students, make up for systematic defects of the public education, and ultimately strengthen its role. This study intends to analyze the capabilities of cyber teachers and clarify their qualifications, as the whole new e-Learning system is about to take root. In this study, the activities of cyber teachers are analyzed and some standards of applicability of cyber teachers, or the so-called ISSCT, are presented. Firstly, the activities are divided into teaching, counselling, process management, development of professionality. Based upon these four activities, nine tasks have been formed and the structure of 22 sub-tasks has been completed. This is the way the standards of applicability of cyber teachers are established in consideration with their activities. Secondly, the standards of information capability of cyber teachers have 53 elements in total, and the aforementioned ISSCT are presented in relation to the ISST, based upon the standards of information capability of cyber teachers.
This paper is to identify the dynamic phenomenon of the marine pollution management that is connected directly or indirectly by using system dynamics analysis. The method used herein is based on system dynamics analysis that analyzed the sub-systems for marine pollution management. Furthermore designed feedback loop between system elements. And made total casual map of marine pollution management. The main results of the paper are the following : 1. It's necessary to equipments and technology development and law revision for feedback loop slump of initial measures delay in oil spill. 2. It should be come up with partnerships and new business for community corrosion non-proliferation caused by social conflicts. 3. Marine pollution management should be an obligation that must be minimized to include social conflicts in the community and national levels besides oil spill response on-site. This model confirmed the hidden cause of delay by existing response plans, manuals and programs. And oil spill response in broader sense is more important from now on. The result can be useful in the guidance of marine pollution and management.
This paper tests Van Home's hypothesis, a negative correlation between degrees of operating leverage(DOL) and financial leverage(DFL). For an empirical analysis, we extract information from financial statements of manufacturing companies listed in the Korea Stock Exchange. Data extend from 1980 to 2001. The DOL continued to increase until 1997, but decreased dramatically after the IMF financial crisis. However, the DOL has been at a higher level than companies of other countries such as USA and Japan. The DFL has been maintained at a much higher level, as expected. The empirical results indicate a positive correlation between the DOL and the DFL, which is inconsistent with the VanHorne's hypothesis. To further investigate, we divide the whole sample into subgroups according to such management elements as asset size, level of leverages, earnings and cash flow. The results for sub-samples are different from those of whole sample. This indicates we need to incorporate specific managerial factors in order to correctly explain financial decision processes.

To provide more natural elements in the harsh urban environment, 'planting trees as urban forests' has been emphasized as having an important role, and trees are expected to be as functional as the trees under more natural conditions in rural areas, and provide people with benefits. To do this, urban forest policies needed a better idea of planting methods and management of trees through the theory of landscape ecology, and also the feedback system according to the evaluation and assessment of urban forests. In this case study, a new principle and assessment indices for the evaluation are applied for the 4 urban forests in two Korean metropolitan cities, Daejeon and Ulsan. The evaluation of Korean urban forest-function as biotope and the assessment for the classification of biotope diversity types are carried out. The AUEM(Adding Up Estimation Matrix) is applied for the analysis of urban forests. Unlikely previous researches on the other Korean metropolitan cities, the size of urban forest has less influence on the vegetation diversity. The most frequent biotope grade is the 3rd grade at Namseon park and Mt. Hamwol, while Mt. Bomun and Mt. Yeompo show the 4th grade. The grades of forest-function as biotope are from 3rd to 5th in which lower than average in forest-function grades. This means that the 4 sites are still not-matured forests and less-functional forests as the urban biotope.
