  • The purpose of this study was to identify the self-awareness of smartphone dependence among undergraduate students and their response to the same. The data was drawn from a survey on smartphone overdependence conducted by the Ministry of Science and information and communications technology (ICT) and the National Information Society Agency in 2017. The responses of 1,735 undergraduate students were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, minimum-maximum value, 2-test, independent t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that 22.3% of participants were at risk of smartphone dependence, and 63.6% of them were unaware of their dependence on smartphones. The perception of smartphone dependence was significantly associated with a higher risk of smartphone dependence (=.35, p=.000) and the increasing use of applications such as games (=.19, p=.000), television/video (=.11, p=.000), and learning (=.11, p=.000). Of the participants with dependence awareness, only a few knew about the existence of centers to prevent smartphone and internet dependence. Moreover, they rarely utilized these centers. However, the participants felt the need for more counseling agencies (26.8%), programs for dealing with oneself (23.2%), information about smartphone dependence (14.9%), and help to overcome dependence (10.9%). These findings show the need to establish public services so that students can easily access correct information on smartphone dependence and address this problem.

  • Augmented reality smart-glass enables healthcare providers to use patient and their care related information without interference of workflow. In addition, augmented reality smart-glass simulation had advantages in improving competency via remote collaboration and real-time information sharing. This study investigated perception and attitude regarding augmented reality smart glass based healthcare simulation on three different groups of healthcare major students, computer major students, developers and faculties. Using convenience sampling method, data were obtained from 95 participants and statistical analysis were performed using SPSS 25.0. Developer and faculty group showed the highest scores, followed by healthcare major students. There was the high expectation on augmented reality smart-glass for skill acquisition and the high performance and big screen were essential features of device. The findings of this study revealed that differences between healthcare and computer major students exist and strategies to reduce those gaps are required to adopt augmented reality smart glass in healthcare settings.

The average social distance from elderly with dementia was 3.40 points. The social distance from elderly with dementia of the study participants showed a positive correlation between the attitude of dementia(r=.47, p=.001) and empathy(r= .27, p<.001). According to the results of multiple regression analysis, attitude of dementia(β=.21, p=.001), and empathy(β=.37, p<.001) were shown to be significant factors that affected the social distance from elderly with dementia. These variables explained 36.5%. Therefore, an education program to improve the ocial distance from elderly with dementia of social welfare students should be considered as a way to enhance positive attitude of dementia and empathy.

Self-efficacy of the subjects was positive correlation with learning flow(r=.574, p<.001), resilience(r=.525, p<.001), and negative correlation with academic stress(r=-.262, p<.001). Resilience of the subjects showed positive correlation with learning flow(r=.325, p<.001) and negative correlation with academic stress(r=-.291, p<.001). Learning flow showed negative correlation with academic stress(r=-.211, p<.001). Factors influencing the self-efficacy of the subjects were identified as academic commitment (β=.442, p<.001) and resilience (β=.363, p<.001) and the explanatory power was 45.6%. Therefore, in order to improve college students' self-efficacy, it is necessary to develop and apply education and programs that can improve learning flow and resilience.

  • This study was attempted to determine the effect of premenstrual syndrome, menstrual pain, attitudes toward menstruation, and quality of sleep on learning immersion in female college students. The subjects of the study were 166 female college students at C University in Gyeongsangnam-do, and data collection was conducted from July 01 to August 31, 2023, using a Google questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by correlation, multiple regression analysis. Premenstrual syndrome had a significant positive correlation with attitudes toward menstruation(r=.40, p<.001) and menstrual pain(r=.33, p<.001). And sleep quality had a significant positive correlation with menstrual pain(r=.31, p<.001) and learning immersion(r=.24, p=.002). Variables that have a significant impact on learning immersion include 'irregularity in eating' (β =.20, p=.007), 'abdominal massage' to relieve menstrual pain (β=.27, p=.003), and sleep quality (β=.16, p=.038). 'Abdominal massage' to relieve menstrual pain was found to be the best predictor of learning immersion, followed by 'irregularity in eating' and sleep quality. The total explanatory power was 13.9%. Based on the above results, in order to increase learning commitment through mitigation of premenstrual syndrome, education is necessary to seek active countermeasures by increasing various treatments and interest in them, and to have a positive attitude toward menstruation by having proper eating habits.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing college students' intention to continue COVID-19 infection prevention behavior. The study subjects were collected from May 9 to June 17, 2022, from 209 students at D College, and the collected data were descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Multiple regression analysis. As a result of this study, COVID19 vaccination attitude was significantly positively correlated with COVID19-related anxiety, health beliefs, and intention to continue COVID19 prevention behavior, COVID19-related anxiety was significantly positively correlated with COVID19 stress, health beliefs, and COVID19 stress was significantly positively correlated with health beliefs, and health beliefs were significantly correlated with COVID19 prevention behavior intention. As a result of multiple regression analysis, the factors that significantly influence the intention to continue COVID19 infection prevention behavior were COVID19-related anxiety (𝛽=.35, p=<.001), health beliefs (𝛽=.17, p=.011), and COVID19 vaccination attitude (𝛽=.14, p=.035), followed by explanatory power of 25.2%. Therefore, it provided implications for the need for strategic development of countermeasures to prevent the spread of infection in the event of similar infectious diseases in the future by maintaining the continuity of infection prevention actions.
