In this paper, an intelligent control scheme with multi-stage fuzzy inference is developed for a myoelectric prosthesis to achieve natural control with tactile feedback based on fuzzy control strategies. Strain gauges and a potentiometer are added to the prosthesis for tactile feedback with a PWM motor driver developed to save the battery power. According to the multi-stage fuzzy inference, the prosthesis can determine the stiffness of the object and hold an object without injuring it, meanwhile, the hysteresis phenomenon is an 80196KC single-chip microcontroller to replace the original controller.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the development of effective online Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Based Learning (PjBL). The collaborative PBL/PjBL become one of the hot issues with the rapid growth of online learning in the era of COVID-19. Educators try to get innovative to continue instruction without sacrificing student engagement, thus adopting an instructional model of PBL/PjBL. The PBL process involves clarifying terms, defining complex problems, brainstorming, structuring and hypothesis while PjBL includes project-planning, implementation, communicating the results of a project in a presentation and evaluations with immediate individually tailored feedback within a predetermined period. Despite the differences between online and offline learning, the benefits of learning online or offline are practically the same if enough bidirectional interactions between instructors and students are possible. We argue that online qualifications are just the same as those of offline ones in PBL/PjBL models, therefore, the standards of online/offline learning are identical since education is a two-way communication.

The crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant changes in education systems worldwide, including in Korea. Due to COVID-19's social distancing policies, the education system was suddenly switched to distance learning, resulting in many problems in primary schools without preparation. The purpose of this study was to investigate a teacher's awareness of science education techniques, responses to issues in science classes, including inquiry activities, advantages and disadvantages, and roles after experiencing distance learning. Survey and focus interviews were conducted for primary school teachers who had previously participated in distance learning, such as online content classes and real-time interactive classes. The study findings showed three conclusions: 1) Primary school teachers conducted one-way and interactive lectures in online classes. It is vital to improve a teacher's digital literacy to improve other teaching methods such as investigation and discussion in online classes. 2) Primary school teachers acknowledged the challenges of field feedback, inquiry item preparations, and safety in inquiry activities of science classes, by providing individual experimental packages and videos and using online discussion and feedback among teacher - student and student - student interactions. 3) Primary school teachers recognized that various types of classes using IT devices and individualized learning were possible as advantages of distance learning. As for disadvantages, it was acknowledged that inquiry activities, cooperative learning, immediate feedback, and interaction among students were challenging. Furthermore, learning gaps were wider in distance learning.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of soccer club teachers' leadership behavior types on elementary and middle school students' psychological factors. The subjects in this study were 561 students who consisted of 245 elementary and 316 middle school students - from 15 elementary and 17 middle school teams. All the teams are registered in the Busan Sports Club. The findings of the study were as follows : Autocratic behavior must be used rarely because it causes great anxiety. Positive feedback behavior is needed to improve students' confidence. Positive feedback behavior and training and instruction behavior are needed for achievement motivation. For this reason, teachers must coach students through positive feedback behavior, training and instruction behavior and social support behavior to build confidence, achievement motivation and cohesion. Since confidence, achievement motivation and cohesion depend on careers, coaching student's early helps students perform better.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the change of teacher-student interaction in a beginner secondary science teachers' class through collaborative mentoring program. Three experienced science teachers as mentors and three beginner science teachers as mentees were participated in this study. Mentors have been teaching science secondary school for more than 13 years with specialty in science education, and mentees have been teaching less than three years in secondary schools. They were matched one-toone on grounded characteristics that were revealed from pre-interview. Data collection consisted of lesson plans of mentees' classes, videotaped lessons of mentees, consultation meetings between mentors and mentees, and interviews with mentees as well as mentors. The consultation meetings and interviews were audiotaped and then transcribed with the videotaped lessons. To examine the change in teacher-student interactions, the lesson observed after four sessions of mentoring was compared to the lesson before mentoring on the basis of the analytical framework that was developed based on the interpretative approach. The analytical framework addresses the four aspects of teacher-student interaction, which include beginner of interaction (initiation), the types of the question, the student response and the feedback. After four sessions of collaborative mentoring, the beginner science teacher's classroom interactions were initiated by students more often. Teachers' questions increasingly turned into thought-provoking queries that required higherorder thinking. The students responded in the form of statements instead of asking question more frequently. Also, teachers provided more delayed feedback than immediate feedback. These changes of interaction patterns showed that students took a leading role in classroom interaction and they were encouraged to think. From this result, we argue that the beginner science teachers developed the ability to make students think and to support them in coming to an understanding of knowledge through a collaborative mentoring program.
The aim of this study was to explore the use of Google Classroom as a learning management system for College English. The study targeted 34 university students. They took part in various activities, such as writing reactions to video lectures, peer-editing essays, and recording video presentations, et cetera. For the study, a t-test was conducted to evaluate the English development of the students. The two essays that each student wrote were used as the data sources. The result (t=-5.854, p=.000) indicated an improvement in their English writing proficiency. In addition, a survey was conducted to gather students' feedback regarding their perceptions towards the course. The study covered five aspects of their experience: Google Classroom, language development, Quizlet, classroom experience, and essay-writing experience. From the results, students indicated a positive response to the program. The use of Google Classroom in an online learning setting accomplishes two things; it helped the students in the development of their English proficiency, and provided activities that students find interesting, which in turn stimulates their self-learning spirit.
This research has three purposes: The first purpose is to verify whether SGRs(Student-Generated Rubrics) are effective for learner achievement in higher education or not. The second one is to analyze the agreements between an instructor's evaluations and peer group assessments with SGRs in real classroom situation. The final purpose is to propose the possibility of students' more objective self-evaluation with the use of SGRs. It appears that rubrics are effective tools to improve learner achievement in adult education and to promote the agreement between the instructor's and peer's evaluations, even though learners do not develop SGRs. In addition, this research has demonstrated that most students are not very accurate self-assessors, and they often overestimate themselves. This study can be helpful for novice instructors, especially for those who try to assess their students more fairly, to develop the SGRs as an evaluation tool appropriate for their own situation, and to give more reliable feedback to students.
We introduce a high-performance named entity recognition (NER) model for written and spoken language. To overcome challenges related to labeled data scarcity and domain shifts, we use transfer learning to leverage our previously developed KorBERT as the base model. We also adopt a meta-pseudo-label method using a teacher/student framework with labeled and unlabeled data. Our model presents two modifications. First, the student model is updated with an average loss from both human- and pseudo-labeled data. Second, the influence of noisy pseudo-labeled data is mitigated by considering feedback scores and updating the teacher model only when below a threshold (0.0005). We achieve the target NER performance in the spoken language domain and improve that in the written language domain by proposing a straightforward rollback method that reverts to the best model based on scarce human-labeled data. Further improvement is achieved by adjusting the label vector weights in the named entity dictionary.
Purpose: This study was done to examine the effect of direct practice of newborn health assessment on nursing student's clinical competence and self-efficacy and to propose effective strategies for clinical education on newborn care. Methods: Design was a nonequivalent control group quasi-experimental study. The direct practice program was composed of a lecture, demonstration, drill and feedback using a manikin, and repeated direct practice regarding newborn health assessment. Participants were 65 student nurses taking the pediatric nursing practicum in the nursery room at M hospital. The experimental group (n=33) participated in the direct practice program for newborn health assessment and the control group (n=32) received the traditional practice method. Nursing clinical competence was assessed by two nurse investigators and structured questionnaires were used to measure self-efficacy. Results: The experimental group's clinical competence was significantly higher than that of the control group (t=-4.82, p=.000). However no significant difference was found between the two groups for self-efficacy (t=1.264, p=.211). Conclusion: These findings indicate that the direct practice program is effective in improving nursing student's clinical competence, but it was not effective in increasing self-efficacy. Direct practice in various clinical education settings is recommended and longitudinal effects be evaluated.
