  • Rail infrastructure manager and operators shall establish emergency response plans. Emergency Response Planning Activities expanded coincidence events should be modeled.   • This paper is concerned with development of a multi-attribute structured decision model. In this study, we used AHP(analytic hierarchy process) and fuzzy set ranking methodology to overcome the multi-attributes structured decision problems ; such as multi-objective, multi-criterion, and multi-attributes. We proposed a 2-step approach : 1) individual evaluation and 2) integration of individual evaluations. In the first step, we define the performance factors and construct ana]isis structure, and in the second step performance evaluation by individual evaluators, and in second step, the results of individual evaluations are integrate. Also we developed a systematic and practical computer program to solve the problems according to the proposed methods. The proposed approach was known to be effective through a set of sample problems.

컨텐츠 지향적 하이퍼미디어 설계 방법론 (A Methodology for Designing Contents-Oriented Hypermedia)

  • Recently there have been many efforts to develop hypermedia systems. Hypermedia applications can be categorized into process-oriented or contents-oriented. However, it is not a trivial task to build contents-oriented hypermedia in a systematic fashion. The contents-oriented hypermedia systems are developed primarily for the applications of marketing or information services. This paper proposes a methodology for a contents-oriented hypermedia system. Hypermedia contents are typically structured in the form of hierarchies. An index node can be used in order to give an effective access to this hierarchical structure. The proposed methodology employs three types of nodes(contents, index and function) and various navigation mechanisms, and helps design contents-oriented hypermedia systematically. Furthermore, various design techniques are proposed for maintaining contents-oriented hypermedia systems that have an evolutionary feature. Two real-life cases are illustrated to demonstrate the applicability of the methodology.

An effective approach to generate Wikipedia infobox of movie domain using semi-structured data

  • Wikipedia infoboxes have emerged as an important structured information source on the web. To compose infobox for an article, considerable amount of manual effort is required from an author. Due to this manual involvement, infobox suffers from inconsistency, data heterogeneity, incompleteness, schema drift etc. Prior works attempted to solve those problems by generating infobox automatically based on the corresponding article text. However, there are many articles in Wikipedia that do not have enough text content to generate infobox. In this paper, we present an automated approach to generate infobox for movie domain of Wikipedia by extracting information from several sources of the web instead of relying on article text only. The proposed methodology has been developed using semantic relations of article content and available semi-structured information of the web. It processes the article text through some classification processes to identify the template from the large pool of template list. Finally, it extracts the information for the corresponding template attributes from web and thus generates infobox. Through a comprehensive experimental evaluation the proposed scheme was demonstrated as an effective and efficient approach to generate Wikipedia infobox.

  • We propose the robust nonlinear controller design methodology for the multivariable system which has hard nonlinearities (Coulomb friction, dead-zone, etc) and the structured real parameter uncertainty. The hard nonlinearity can be linearized by the RIDF technique and structured real parameter uncertainty can be modelled as the sense of Peterson-Hollot's quadratic Lyapunov bound. For this system, we apply the robust QLQG/H$_{\infty}$ control and then can obtain four Riccati equations. Because of the system's nonlinearity, however, one Riccati equation contains the nonlinear correction term that is very difficult to solve numerically, In order to treat this problem, using some transformations to Riccati equations, the nonlinear correction term can be eliminated. Then, only two Riccati equations need to design a controller. Finally, the robust nonlinear controller is synthesized via IRIDF techniques. To test this proposed control method, we consider the direct-drive robot manipulator system that has Coulomb frictions and varying inertia.

  • Nowadays an information exchange on Bn such as B2B electronic commerce is spreading. Therefore the systematic and stable management mechanism for storing the exchanged information is needed. For this goal there are many research activities for connection between XML application and relational database. But because XML data have hierarchical structures and relational database can store only flat-structured data, we need to store XML data in object-relational database that support hierarchical structure. Accordingly the modeling methodology for storing XML data in object-relational database is needed. In order to build good quality application systems, modeling is an important first step. In 1997, the OMG adopted the UML as its standard modeling language. Since industry has warmly embraced UML its popularity should become more important in the future. So a design methodology based on UML is need to develop efficiently XML applications. In this paper, we propose a unified design methodology for In applications based on object-relational database using In. To this goal, first we introduce a XML modeling methodology to design W3C XML schema using UML and second we propose data modeling methodology for object-relational database schema to store efficiently XML data in object-relational databases.

  • To realize process-driven management, so many companies have been launching business process managementsystems. Business process is collection of standardized and structured tasks inducing value creation of acompany. Moreover, it is recognized as one of significant intangible business assets to achieve competitiveadvantages. This research introduces a novel approach of workflow process analysis, which has more and moresignificance as process-aware information systems are spreading widely into a lot of companies, In this paper, amethodology of workflow clustering based on process similarity has been proposed. The purpose of workflowclustering is to analyze accumulated process definitions in order to assist design of new processes andimprovement of existing ones. The proposed methodology exploits measures of structural similarity of workflowprocesses.The methodology has been experimented with synthetic process models for illustrating the implicationofworkflow clustering.

  • A methodology for XML documentation of the structural calculation document is presented to support manipulation of the design information on the internet. The text file format is chosen as a neutral format because it can be easily translated from office documents generated from engineering practice. The first word of each line is compared with the reserved numbering groups, and relative levels among the lines are defined to generate the hierarchically structured XML document of the text file. The demonstration subjected to sample general documents and structural calculation documents shows that the prototype application module based on the developed methodology can be adopted to build the database of design information which supports the safety management of infrastructures.

  • Formal safety assessment (FSA) is defined as a structured and systematic methodology aimed at enhancing maritime safety including protection of life, health, and the marine environment and property, by using risk and cost/benefit assessment or, more specifically, it is a process of identifying hazard, evaluating risk and deciding on course of action to control those risks. Emphasis is placed on the structural aspect of the failure of cargo hold. This study is expected to illustrate how a new methodology, i.e. the Formal Safety Assessment, can be applied to specific ship safety problems.
