As competition in the domestic franchise industry is more heated than ever, we examined the factors that affect the profitability of the coffee franchise industry, which has grown rapidly over the last decade, and explored what effect preparatory startup education has on the profitability of coffee franchise stores. Specifically, this study looked into whether preparatory startup education can increase store competitiveness, provide insight into store location selection, generate innovative management, and ultimately contribute to store profitability. To test these hypotheses, we employed structural equation modeling. Results showed that preparatory startup education has a significantly positive (+)effect on 1)business characteristics: taste, quality, price affordability, menu diversity, store ambiance, 2)location characteristics: suitability, and 3)innovation management: accessibility, delivery service, and SNS marketing. The factors with a significantly positive (+)effect on store profitability were taste, quality, and price affordability with regard to business characteristics, suitability in terms of location characteristics, and SNS marketing in respect to innovation management. We expect that this study will have practical implications for increasing the profitability of coffee franchise stores, which are facing excessive competition, and its findings will be useful for coffee franchise head offices as well as government when making relevant policy decisions. In addition, it is intended to deliver a message to franchise head offices, central government, and local governments that they should provide institutional support to coffee franchise stores such that delivery services can lead to substantial improvement in profitability, even when delivery costs are considered.
This study tries to understand the Infectious disease recognition and perceived risk of the COVID19 of air traveller on risk reduction behavior and tourist destination switching intention. The study method was to conduct a online survey research targeting air travelers with airline experience within a year. The empirical survey was conducted between Jun 2 and Jun 24, 2021, and 250 valid questionnaires were analyzed. data analysis was conducted using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 23.0 the hypothesis was tested through structural equation modeling. First, Infectious disease recognition of the COVID19 has effect on perceived risk and risk reduction behavior. Second, perceived risk of the COVID19 has effects risk reduction behavior, but has no effect on tourist destination switching intention. Third, risk reduction behavior has effect on tourist destination switching intention. The findings has significant implications for infectious disease recognition and perceived risk of the COVID19, risk reduction behavior, tourist destination switching intention and academic researchers. This study has shown that infectious disease recognition of the COVID19 is critical for preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
Most of the existing studies on the volume and valence of the eWOM (electronic word of mouth) about movies and box-office revenues were conducted using online actual data (secondary data) at Yahoo Movies, IMDB.com, Naver Movies, etc. However, it is difficult to grasp psychological variables from online actual data. Therefore, existing studies using online actual data could not identify the causal relationship among volume, valence and psychological variables. This study fills this gap in the literature. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects (i.e. mediating effect) of the volume and valence of online reviews about movies on purchase intention through review credibility as a mediator. We conducted a survey on the South Korean consumers and a structural equation modeling. The outcomes show that the total effects of both volume and valence are significant. In addition, volume has an indirect effect only (i.e. full mediating effect) on purchase intention through review credibility, but valence has both direct and indirect effects (i.e. partial mediating effect) on purchase intention through review credibility. The theoretical and practical implications for these results are presented.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between filial piety, family exchange, and social exchange and perception of intergenerational solidarity and to find the differences of those relationships among different age groups. '2017 Age Integration Survey' data, which were collected under the support of Social Science Korea (SSK) project of National Research Foundation of Korea. 300 participants for each three age group such as the young, middle-aged and older adult were randomly selected among 1,017 and data were analyzed by structural equation modeling method. Findings were as follows. Firstly, filial piety, family exchange, social exchange affected the perception of intergenerational solidarity. Secondly, there is a significant difference in those relationships among different age groups. Family exchange and social exchange were statistically significant variables to explain the perception of intergenerational solidarity in the young age group; filial piety, family exchange, and social exchange, all three variables were related statistically significantly to the perception of intergenerational solidarity in the middle-aged group. For older adult group, filial piety and social exchange appeared as the significant variables. Based on these findings, several suggestions in policies and practices were made to increase the perception of intergenerational solidarity by reflecting the characteristics of each age groups.
This study examined the effect of the perception of age-friendly environment on perceived social bonding. In particular, this study focused on the mediating effects of perception of age-integration between perception of age-friendly environment and perceived social bonding. The data were analyzed using the '2017 Ages Integration Survey' conducted by the Korea Research Foundation(SSK). A total of 997 adults from 20 to 86 ears of age were participated in this study. The perception of age-friendly environment was measured using the age-friendly city guidelines set out by WHO and perception of age-integration was measured using questions that asked about age flexibility and age diversity. Also, the social capital scale was used to measure perception of social bonding. In order to increase the reliability of the analysis results, age, gender, educational achievement and residential area were controlled. Structural Equation Modeling approach was employed to answer the research questions. The results are following. First, perception of age-friendly environment was significantly associated with perceived social bonding in a positive direction, controlling for age, gender, educational achievement and residential area. Second, perception of age-integration partially mediated the relationship between perception age-friendly environment and perceived social bonding controlling for covariates. Based on these findings, this study proposes political and practical intervention strategies to promote age-friendly environment and age-integration.
Many studies on the acceptance of multi-national products have made academic contributions by offering various implications. However, there have been relatively few studies on the attitudes and behaviors of multi-national products depending on the purchasing tendency of consumers. The purpose of this study is to investigate how acceptance process of multi-national product, which is high involvement, appears by sorting consumers' purchasing tendency into rational consumption tendency, brand pursuit tendency, and consciousness of other people. Also, in order to supplement the measurement method of existing research, this study sought to analyze the acceptance behavior of consumers more precisely by classifying the situation before and after exposures of multi-national origin information on products. For this, 266 consumers were surveyed and statistical analysis was conducted through structural equation modeling. As a result of the research model, it was found that consciousness of other people has a significant effect on susceptibility and antipathy of multi-national product. In addition, antipathy against multi-national products has more powerful effect than susceptibility.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among potential job-related risks, emotional dissonance, and job turnover intention of caregivers at the long-term care facilities in South Korea, and to explore the potential mediator role of burnout in this association. For the study, survey data of 434 caregivers at long-term care facilities were collected and analyzed using structural equation modeling method. The results showed that high level of caregivers'perception of the potential job-related risks led to increased burnout and turnover intention of caregivers. Second, caregivers'burnout partially mediated the effect of the potential job-related risks on turnover intention. Third, the more caregivers experience emotional dissonance, the higher the possibility of caregivers'burnout. On the other hand, emotional dissonance of caregivers did not give significant direct impact on turnover intention. Burnout fully mediated the relationship between emotional dissonance and turnover intention of caregivers. Lastly, the more caregivers experience burnout, the higher possibility of turnover intention. Based on the results, researchers suggested possible intervention methods as well as preventive measures to reduce the turnover of caregivers at long-term care facilities.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between transaction justice and customer performance. In this study, data were gathered from questionnaires from customers and suppliers of manufacturing outsourcing service, and reliability, validity, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were conducted and the hypothesis was verified through the structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The results of this study are as follows: 1)Transaction justice has a significant positive effect on customer's business performance. Distribution and Interactional justice have a small effect on business performance, but Procedural justice has a significant positive effect. 2)Transaction justice has a positive effect on partnerships. 3)The partnership between the customer and the supplier has a positive effect on the customer's business performance. 4)Partnership has positive effect on customer's management performance through mediating justice. This study is based on the fact that justice acts as a independent variable in the transactional relationship between the customer and the supplier in the manufacturing outsourcing and this is the first case that empirically investigated the effect of the justice on the customer's management performance. In order to effectively cope with a rapidly changing business environment and effectively improve management performance, it is necessary to make efforts to improve justice, especially procedural justice, by utilizing outsourcing effectively in a global competition. In this respect, this study provides important implications for the both academically and practically.
The purpose of this study was to examine resilience and empathy on the relation between humanity and friendship of the early adolescents using structural equation modeling. The subjects were total 332 students of the 5th and 6th grade in elementary school and 1st and 2nd grade in junior school. The data were collected by means of the self-report questionnaire. The results of this study were as follows: Firstly, the direct effect of humanity on resilience, empathy, and friendship was found. Resilience also influence friendship directly, but empathy did not affect friendship. Secondly, humanity had influence on friendship partially mediated by resilience, but not mediated by empathy. This result shows that resilience was better mediated between humanity and friendship than empathy. Additionally, sex differences were found on empathy, but the differences were not found on resilience. The results revealed that the adolescents who scored high on humanity were better at friendship and when the higher humanity score was, the higher level of resilience was found, and this had an indirect effect on friendship quality.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between self-leadership of teachers who conduct free-selection activities in kindergartens. In addition, we analyze the mediating effect of teacher self-efficacy. This study was conducted using data gathered through a survey conducted on 325 kindergarten teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do areas from September 17 to 28, 2018. To analyze the data, the author used SPSS Statistics 22.0 and AMOS 20.0 programs to conduct reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling. The result of the verification of the hypothesis showed that self-leadership of kindergarten teachers who engaged in free-selection activities positively influenced self-efficacy. Self-leadership of teachers who employed free-selection activities had a positive effect on the expertise of teachers as well. Also, self-efficacy of kindergarten teachers positively affected expertise of these teachers. In addition, the self-leadership of kindergarten teachers mediated self-efficacy, so that the indirect effect on teacher expertise was statistically significant. Also, the direct effect of self-leadership on expertise of teachers was significant, which showed that the self-efficacy of the kindergarten teachers indirectly mediated the relationship between self-leadership and expertise of the teachers. This study showed that to enhance expertise of kindergarten teachers, this requires enhancing self-leadership of teachers. Also, in order to enhance the level of self-efficacy of teachers, necessary knowledge and skills that can enhance self-efficacy of these teachers in their working environment should be provided. In addition, someone who can play the role of active facilitator or helper is needed in order to enhance expertise of these teachers.
