The Study of Electrical and Structural Performance of Aluminum Thin Film Deposited by Sputtering Method (스퍼터링법에 의해 증착된 알루미늄 박막의 전기적·구조적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, we performed the deposition of Al thin film using a DC magnetron sputtering method. To evaluate electrical and structural properties, the growth conditions were changed in terms of two functions, namely, sputtering power ranging from 41.6 to 216 W and film growth rate ranging from 5.35 to 26.39 nm/min. The growth rate and the microstructure were characterized by a scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. The plane of crystalline growth showed that the preferential (111) direction and defects due to the grain boundary increased with DC power. The resistivity of the Al film over 50 nm showed a constant value by horizontal grain growth. Our results can be applicable for the preparation of nano-templates for anodic aluminum oxide.

  • 콘크리트 교량을 저렴하고 신속하게 상태 평가를 하기 위하여 성능 지수(Performance Index)를 제안한다. 이 기법은 육안 검사에 의하여 발견된 결함의 범위와 심각도를 사용하여 콘크리트 교량의 전반적인 상태를 신속하게 등급화 하고 콘크리트 교량의 노출 조건을 고려하여 콘크리트 성능을 정량적으로 평가한다. 또한 본 연구에서는 상기한 성능 지수 기법의 타당성을 증명할 수 있는 정밀 안전 진단 시험결과를 활용하여 6개의 주요 노후화 원인을 고려하는 또 다른 성능 지수를 제안한다. 이러한 두 상태 평가 방법이 영국의 실제 교량 상태 평가 자료를 바탕으로 한 상태 평가 결과를 퍼지 집합 이론(fuzzy set theory)으로 분석한 결과와 비교하여 방법의 정당성 및 신뢰성을 논의한다.

  • Large injection molds commonly have molding defects such as flashes and variation of product thickness. In this study, we conducted injection molding CAE analysis to find out the cavity pressure and structural analysis to find out mold deflection as input load conditions injection pressure obtained from injection molding analysis. As the results from CAE analysis, we found which element is the most effective on the mold deflection and we suggested a mold design to minimize the mold deflection.

  • Contemporary concrete structures make use of underground spaces as parking lots and other comfort facilities for efficiency purposes. As underground environmental conditions are in constant exposure to degradation factors from the environment such as groundwater, hydraulic and soil pressure, structural movement and settlement, structural defects in the form of leakage occur. Current maintenance regulations and regimes are unable to respond to this field, as degradation mechanisms in underground environments are still unclear. In this regard, this study proposes the utilization of integrated information sharing system that can provide various technical information for construction designs to prevent leakages in underground concrete structures.

  • Due to the drastic improvement of computer hardware and operating system, it is easy to break through the main defects of limited computer memory and processing time, etc. To keep up with this situation, this paper is focused on developing the preprocessor program with the input method based on vector graphic editor and the preprocessing technique including automatic node generation algorithm for the $\rho$-version finite element program. To develop this preprocessor program, the special data structure and the OOP(Object Oriented Programming) have been used by the Visual Basic 4.0. The Special data structure is proposed to describe the geometric data of node numberings and coordinates suitable for the $\rho$-version finite element program, which are quite different from the comvential h-version finite element program.

  • Graphene is considered as a potential candidate for the key material in the ideal 2D nanoelectronics. Recently, it is reported that graphene has an interesting sensitivity to molecular adsorption on it. Such properties are believed to be enhanced by the existence of disorders and ripples inside graphene as well as by the interaction with the substrate underneath. Here, we report the effect of introducing structural disorders to the graphene on its electrical properties such as conductance, transconductance, low frequency noise, which can be successfully described by a simple model of the continuum percolation. In addition, the response of the graphene device to gaseous molecular adsorption was systematically investigated and the results were discussed along with the change in Raman spectra.

  • Structural reliability of electrical panels installed in naval vessels is of critical importance from structural performance viewpoint. The panels may be exposed to vibration and fatigue loadings from internal and external sources and wave loading which cause fatigue cracking. In this study, common methods such as burr grinding and post weld heat treatment (PWHT), for the fatigue strength improvement of weldments are investigated. Burr grinding is carried out using a electric grinder in order to remove surface defects and improve the weld bead profile. And also PWHT is carried out for the purpose of removing residual. The effectiveness of the two post treatment methods is evaluated in terms of fatigue strength improvement of welded structures.

Atomic structures and Energies of Planar defects in w-GaN (GaN 평면결함의 구조와 형성에너지에 관한 연구)

  • We investigate the structures and the formation energy of inversion domain boundaries (IDBs) using the Tersoff empirical potential. Four kinds of IDBs ( A and B types for IDB* and Holt ) are considered. The IDBs with A type are energetically favorable compared to B type with the structural instability. The IDB* is also more stable than the Holt type in spite of fourfold and eightfold rings of bonds. We calculate the atomic configurations of the Holt IDBs induced by the interactions of the IDB* with the stacking faults $I_1$ and $I_2$. The stacking fault $I_2$ interacted with $I_1$ on the IDB induces the structural transformation from IDB* to Holt type.

  • 본 논문에서는 등가소성힌지길이 개념을 새롭게 개선하여 도입함하여 구조물의 거동특성을 평가하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 시간의 경과 및 외부환경 변화와 더불어 발생 가능한 지하구조물의 변상은 해당 구조물의 구성재료 및 작용하는 외압의 형태 등에 의해 다르게 나타나게 된다. 즉, 장기적인 지반외력의 변화에 의해 콘크리트 구조체의 천단부에 큰 휨압축응력과 인장을력이 생기는데, 내측에는 압축이 생기고 외측에는 인장균열이 발생한다. 또한 측벽이나 어깨부에서는 인장응력과 전단응력에 의한 균열이 발생하기도 한다. 따라서 개발된 프로그램으로 균열발생단면에 대하여 축력, 휨모멘트, 균열폭을 서로 연관 지을 수 있게 될 뿐만 아니라 균열폭의 확장을 추적해 나갈 수 있다. 해석기법을 토대로 개발된 해석모듈을 이용하여, 본 해석 기법의 타당성에 대한 검증을 실시하였다. 검증을 위해서는 수평보구조와 터널구조에 대해 각각 해석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 구조물 내에서의 균열의 진전이 점차적으로 확장되어 가는 것이 표현 가능한 것을 확인하였으며, 해석결과의 타당성을 확인하였다.

Growth and Dissolve of Defects in Boron Nitride Nanotube

  • The defect formation energy of boron nitride (BN) nanotubes is investigated using molecular-dynamics simulation. Although the defect with tetragon-octagon pairs (4-88-4) is favored in the flat cap of BN nanotubes, BN clusters, and the growth of BN nanotubes, the formation energy of the 4-88-4 defect is significantly higher than that of the pentagon-heptagon pairs (5-77-5) defect in BN nanotubes. The 5-77-5 defect reduces the effect of the structural distortion caused by the 4-88-4 defect, in spite of homoelemental bonds. The instability of the 4-88-4 defect generates the structural transformation into BNNTs with no defect at about 1500 K.
