Western medicine was first introduced to Korea by Christian missionaries and then by the Japanese in the late 19th century without its historical, philosophical, cultural, social, political, and economic values being communicated. Specifically, during the Japanese colonial era, only ideologically 'degenerated' medicine was taught to Koreans and the main orthodox stream of medicine was inaccessible. Hence, Korean medical education not only focuses on basic and clinical medicine, but also inherited hierarchical discrimination and structural violence. After Korea's liberation from Japan and the Korean war, the Korean medical education system was predominantly influenced by Americans and the Western medical education system was adopted by Korea beginning in the 1980s. During this time, ethical problems arose in Korean medical society and highlighted a need for medical humanities education to address them. For Korean medical students who are notably lacking humanistic and social culture, medical humanities education should be emphasized in the curriculum. In the Fourth Industrial Revolution, human physicians may only be distinguishable from robot physicians by ethical consciousness; consequentially, the Korean government should invest more of its public funds to develop and establish a medical humanities program in medical colleges. Such an improved medical education system in Korea is expected to foster talented physicians who are also respectable people.
Purpose: Crowdfunding can be a complementary channel in which start-ups or small companies can obtain financial help and take advantage of exploiting the online potential. To activate crowdfunding, it is necessary to consider a consumer's empathic responses. This article examines the role of empathy in the crowdfunding channel platform. We adopted the identification-commitment model to prove the role of empathy. Research design, data, and methodology: Participants were asked to read the charitable crowdfunding campaign. More than 300 young adults completed an online questionnaire and we analyzed it with structural equation modeling (SEM). To find out the role of empathy, we postulate several models which use empathy variable for different purposes. Results: We conclude that empathy has the role of moderator in the identification-commitment model. This means the high empathic response helped the relationship between identification and commitment. However, low empathic response can negatively influence the process of identification to commitment. Conclusions: This study found that virtual empathy is positively related to crowdfunding participation if we can elevate empathy in the crowdfunding channel platform. The findings also show that we need to consider empathic response when we want to raise funds for specific projects such as protecting the natural environment.

This research aims to analyze the effects of managerial overconfidence and corporate governance on investment decisions. Besides, it also tries to discover the effect of internal financing mediation between managerial overconfidence and corporate governance on investment decisions. This study employed panel data from 44 manufacturing companies from 2014 to 2019, out of a total of 117, thus the total observations are 264. The hypothesis was verified through structural equation modeling (Smart PLS 2). The study revealed as follows: 1) Managerial overconfidence has a positive and significant effect on internal financing, while corporate governance has a negative and significant effect on internal financing, 2) managerial overconfidence, internal financing, and corporate governance have a positive and significant effect on investment decisions, 3) internal financing partially mediated the effect of managerial overconfidence on investment decisions, However, internal financing does not mediate the effect of corporate governance on investment decisions. The findings in this study will help company managers implement good corporate governance to improve investment efficiency. In addition, managers can reduce the proportion of retained earnings and increase the proportion of dividend payout ratios, and increase the use of external sources of funds in making investments to minimize agency costs and manager's opportunistic behavior.

This study aims to analyze the effect of the ratio of profitability and solvability (leverage) on the variable stock price, which is mediated (intervening) by the variable dividend policy. Using the financial reports of manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sector, we take profitability data (ROA, ROE, GPM, and NPM), solvability data (DAR, LTDER, and DER), dividend policy (DPR), and stock price (closing price) from 24 companies, which were selected as samples, from 2011 to 2018. Data was analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The results show that profitability, solvability, and dividend policy affect changes in stock prices, respectively. On the other hand, profitability and solvability do not affect dividend policy. The indirect relationship (intervening) is assessed using a single test, resulting in a dividend policy that can intervene in the relationship between profitability and stock prices but cannot mediate the relationship between solvability and stock prices. The implication of this research is to provide knowledge to investors about the importance of knowing the company's financial performance. Companies with good financial performance will easily develop because there are sufficient funds for company operations. By analyzing financial ratios, investors can get signals to decide whether to invest in the company they want.

Cash management is a major concern for all contractors in the construction industry. It is arguable that cash is the most critical resource of all. A contractor needs to secure sufficient funds to navigate the project to the end, while keeping an eye on maximizing profits along the way. Past research attempted to address such topic via developing models to tackle the time-cost tradeoff problem, cash flow forecasting, and cash flow management. Yet, little was done to integrate the three aspects of cash management together. This paper, as such, presents a comprehensive model that integrates the time-cost tradeoff problem, cash flow management, and cash flow forecasting. First, the model determines the project optimal completion time by considering the different alternative construction methods available for executing project activities. Second, it investigates different funding alternatives and proposes a project-level cash management plan. Two funding alternatives are considered; they are borrowing and company own financing. The model was built as a combinatorial optimization model that utilizes ant colony search capabilities. The model also utilizes Microsoft Project software and spreadsheets to maintain an environment that incorporates activities, their durations, and other project data, in order to estimate project completion time and cost. Ant Colony Optimization algorithm was coded as a Macro program using VBA. Finally, an example project was used to test the developed model, where it acted reliably in maximizing the contractor's profit in the test project.

Application of information system to hospital would bring innovative improvement on efficiency of business management and provide high quality services toward patients as well as the retrenchment of operating funds. PACS(Picture Archiving and Communication System) including X-ray film that manages the medical image information effectively, has drawn considerable attention to essential structural elements to the sophisticated information system for hospital. PACS system should be connected to the network after making a form of standard medical image file from different style of image information obtained from various medical instruments. In this paper, to solve this problem, we construct Mini-PACS that converts the form of Non-DICOM file to the form of standard file by designing the DICOM converter. This system is designed to be managed under Web environment. Comparing with the existed Mini-PACSs, consisting of the client and server module, our system is designed and implemented with integration of these functions in order to be strongly combine strongly between system.
Since the internet banking service was introduced to Korea in 1999, the service has placed itself as an indispensable service to most users. The internet banking, which provides convenience for internet users as well as efficiency for banks, is expected to increase its importance more and to play a bigger role as a passage of funds. Meanwhile, numerous accounts as to the misusage of the internet banking service have been reported and the types and size of damages, especially making illegal money transfers and embezzling user information through computer hacking, tend to increase continuously. This paper points out fundamental problems of the current internet banking service by analyzing the all components of the internet banking service and fitting the results of structural analysis of hacking threats in accordance with service flow. This paper also attempts to propose the means to minimize the hacking threats of the internet banking service.
Objectives : Electroacupuncture is a procedure in which pulses of weak electrical current are sent through acupuncture needles into acupuncture points in the skin. Since the 1970s, electroacupuncture has been widely used for treating various diseases including pain, inflammatory diseases and neurodegenerative diseases and electroacupuncture research has also been actively conducted in Korea. This study was designed to assess the tendencies and research performances in Korea. "Federal investments into the future of a region" - pushing economy in the right direction or throwing tax money into a black hole? Hot-headed contentions keep circulating within politics and economy discussing the effect of technology centers and their sustainability within a region. Start-up support and technological infrastructure with the auxiliary service of well developed sector-oriented clusters as a fertile soil for successful networks are an undeniable advantage of well organised technology centers. Sceptic contemporaries still hold against that in order to implement such a center millions of federal funds for infrastructure and operation are invested. What output of this tax money is verifiable in the long run? The case of Dortmund provides substantial food for this necessary and relevant discussion. Now, after 27 years of history of the TechnologieZentrumDortmund, TZDO for short, a positive balance can be drawn. This is not just a matter of personal belief and stance. Fortunately, a recent study on the economic effects of the TZDO on the whole region was performed by the Center of Applied Economy Research M$\ddot{u}$nster, Germany (Gundel and Luttmann 2008). The result is clear and measurable: the TZDO has shown to be of great impact on the positive development of a whole region. This paper presents an account of the approach of the TechnologieZentrumDortmund and its current strategy and mode of operation to reach an utmost of effectiveness of personal and pecuniary input in establishing economic success for the region of Dortmund. An immense change of minds, employment opportunities and a massive structural change of the whole region were some of the ambitious aims that had to be reached and that are achieved to a large extent.
"Gongchengzuofazeli" was published by the Ministry of Engineering (工部) in 1734, the 12th year of the Yongzheng(雍正) emperor of China's Ching Dynasty. Its purpose was the standardization of building construction and the strengthening of management policies The book records exact measurements of every material used in the building, dividing the building into sections called "dugu (斗口)." It also contains records of the funds that were needed for fair management. Today, it has great historical value because it provides information as to the state of architectural technology and environment of that time. However, the research of Korean architectural historians tends to focus on the "Yingzaofashi(營造法式)" which was written in the Northen Song Dynasty. While the significance of "Gongchengzuofazeli" is widely acknowledged, not enough interest has been garnered to even begin a full-scale translation project. This article, by summarizing in the introduction the basic contents of "Gongchengzuofazeli" and a translation of the first volume in the body, seeks as its purpose to provide data to become the foundation of future research in this area.
