The aim of this reviews is to introduce the information concerning design of the UV-curable jet ink composition in order to provide a good adhesive property on non-porous surface. In order to clarify the viscosity dependence of flying speed for the UV curable jet ink, rheological analysis and observation of the flying state of the ink were carried out. The relationship between ink formulas and adhesive property on non-porous surface was investigated. It was examined the adhesive property of radical polymerization type UV curable jet ink included hydrogen abstraction type photo-initiator, it was expected that the strong adhesive strength can be obtained between the ink and non-porous surface in this study. UV curable jet ink with a slight amount of water was prepared. Optimum ratio of the cationic polymerization type UV curable jet ink shows an adequate adhesive strength towards two kinds of non-porous surface such as glass, poly(vinyl chloride) when tests were conducted on the ink jet-printing test machine.

The instantaneous and ensemble averaged flow characteristics of a round jet issuing normally into a crossflow was studied using a flow visualization technique and Particle Image Velocimetry measurements. Experiments were performed at a jet-to-crossflow velocity ratio, 3.3, and two Reynolds numbers, 1050 and 2100, based on crossflow velocity and jet diameter. Instantaneous laser tomographic images of the vertical center plane of the crossflow jet showed that there exist very different natures in the flow structures of the near field jet even though the velocity ratio is the same. It was found that the shear layer becomes much thicker when the Reynolds number is 2100 due to the strong entrainment of the inviscid fluid by turbulent interaction between the jet and crossflow. The mean and second order statistics were calculated by ensemble averaging over 1000 realizations of instantaneous velocity fields. The detail characteristics of mean flow field, stream wise and vertical r.m.s. velocity fluctuations, and Reynolds shear stress distributions were presented. The new PlV results were compared with those from previous experimental and LES studies.

This paper studies the ventilation characteristics according to the jet fan location at the long road tunnel using the CFD software 'FLUENT' which is based on the finite volume method. The tunnel model used in the analysis has a length of 1600m, a cross sectional area of $120m^3$, and is composed of 3 lanes and one way. The velocity profile, the distribution of CO concentration and the ventilation flow rate within the tunnel are analyzed, respectively. In the analysis, it is found that the dependence of the ventilation flow rate upon the jet fan location is small, but the CO concentration in the tunnel is at the lowest when the jet fans are installed near the tunnel outlet. An air stream right below the jet fan is almost inactive due to the strong stream injection near the jet fan. Thus, the pollution level below the jet fan must be higher than the other area.

This study presents the combustion characteristics and flame structure of annular swirling flow when there were changes the equivalence ratio and swirl number of swirling jet of fuelair mixture. The conclusions of this study are as follows; During the investigations in which the change of equivalence ratio and swirl number were studied, three basic shapes of flame were observed in this study. Visible flame lengths of swirling jet results in the decrease with increasing of swirl number and air-fuel ratio of mixture. Radial distribution of flame temperature with strong swirl is higher than that of weak swirl at the same equivalence ratio of mixture. The angle of spread of the annular jet increases with the increase of swirl number. When the swirl intensity is increased in a jet, the decay of concentration of carbon dioxide is decreased with the distance from nozzle exit of burner.

Measurements of global emissions, flame radiation and flame dimensions are presented for unconfined turbulent-jet and precessing-jet diffusion flames. Precessing jet flames are characterised by increases in global flame radiation and global flame residence time for methane and propane fuels, however a strong dependency of the NOx emission indices on the fuel type exists. The fuel type dependence is considered to be because soot radiation is more effective than gas-radiation at reducing global flame temperatures relative to adiabatic flame temperatures and reducing the NO production rate.

The internal state of an automotive engine is very severe. A piston exposes burnt gas of over $2000^{\circ}$ nd is shocked by high pressure at the time of explosion. Furthermore strong friction is caused by high speed motion. A study on the cooling of the piston requires because the cooling and lubrication of the piston has an effect on the life and efficiency of engine directly. The previous system of oil jet cooled only the bottom of the piston. In order to improve the cooling efficiency, the oil gallery is made inside the piston, and oil flows into the oil gallery. The flow rate of oil at the entrance of oil gallery is important because of the cooling efficiency. The purpose of this study is the investigation of fluid flow characteristics of oil jet and flow rate into the oil gallery.
In the present study, the turbulent flow from an annular jet is investigated by using large eddy simulation. Particularly, the effect of the ratio of the inner and outer diameters is one of the main interests of this study. The instantaneous fields presented in this paper showed that behind the jet exit the backflow region, as well known in literatures, exists, and its detailed behavior depends on the ratio of the inner and outer diameters ($D_1/D_2$). The dependence on $D_1/D_2$ is attributed to the different shear layer development according to $D_1/D_2$. At small $D_1/D_2$, the development of the outer shear layer is similar to that from the circular jet. However, with increasing $D_1/D_2$, the interaction between the outer and inner shear layers becomes strong, resulting in fast transition to turbulence.
The supersonic jet discharging from a petal nozzle is known to enhance mixing effect with the surrounding gas because it produces strong longitudinal vortices due to the velocity difference from both the major and minor axes of petal nozzle. In the present study, the supersonic free jet discharging from the petal nozzle is investigated experimentally. The nozzles used are 4, 6, and 8 lobed petal nozzles with a design Mach number of 1.7, and the flow fields are compared with a circular nozzle with the same design Mach number. The pitot impact pressures are measured using a fine pilot probe. The flow fields are visualized using a Schlieren optical method. The results show that the petal nozzle has more increased supersonic length compared with the circular jet.

The present study focuses on the characteristics of a supersonic jet flowing from a rectangular nozzle exit on a flat plate. Flow visualization techniques using schlieren and kerosene-lampblack tracing are utilized to investigate shock reflection structures and boundary-layer separations over a flat plate. Wall pressure measurements are also carried out to quantitatively analyze the flow structures. All observations are repeated for multiple jet flow boundary conditions by varying the flap length and nozzle pressure ratio. The experimental results show that the jet flow structures over the flat plate are highly three-dimensional with strong bleeding flows from the plate sides, and that they are sensitive to plate length and nozzle pressure ratio. A multi-component force measurement device is also utilized to observe the characteristics of the jet flow thrust vectoring over the plate. The maximum thrust deflection angle of the jet is about $8^{\circ}$, demonstrating the applicability of thrust vector control via a flat plate installed at the nozzle exit.
Recently, the interest of the engine capacity and environment of the atmosphere is increasing, so the researches for the engine capacity have been conducted for a long time. But the internal environment of an automotive engine is very severe. A piston is exposed to combustion gas of over $2000^{\circ}C$ and strong friction is occurred by high speed motion in the cylinder. The fraction between piston and wall of the cylinder causes the increase of temperature in the engine. The temperature of the engine has an effect on the engine capacity. If the temperature is high, the capacity of the engine is low. So we have to maintain the optimum temperature. To maintain the optimum temperature, the enough flow rate of the engine oil is needed. The oil jet is used to control the flow rate of the engine oil and supply the engine oil to the piston and cylinder. The purpose of this study is to check the mass flow rate of the engine oil and the characteristics of internal flow of the oil jet. Flow pattern of the engine oil is very important because it concludes the loss in the oil jet. This study is the previous research about the oil jet and we will consider the movement of the ball check valve to get more accuracy result.
