With the rapid developments in nanotechnology, an increasing number of nanomaterials have been applied in various aspects of our lives. Recently, pharmaceutical nanotechnology with numerous advantages has growingly attracted the attention of many researchers. Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) are nanomaterials that are widely used in many fields including diagnostics, therapeutics, drug-delivery systems, electronics, cosmetics, sunscreens, coatings, ceramic products, paints, and food additives, due to their magnetic, catalytic, semiconducting, anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, ultraviolet-protective, and binding properties. The present review focused on the recent research works concerning role of ZnO-NP on inflammation. Several studies have reported that ZnO-NP induces inflammatory reaction through the generation of reactive oxygen species by oxidative stress and production of inflammatory cytokines by activation of nuclear factor-${\kappa}B$ ($NF-{\kappa}B$). Meanwhile, other researchers reported that ZnO-NP exhibits an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the up-regulation of inflammatory cytokines and the activation of $NF-{\kappa}B$, caspase-1, $I{\kappa}B$$kinase{\beta}$, receptor interacting protein2, and extracellular signal-regulated kinase. Previous studies reported that size and shape of nanoparticles, surfactants used for nanoparticles protection, medium, and experimental conditions can also affect cellular signal pathway. This review indicated that the anti-inflammatory effectiveness of ZnO-NP was determined by the nanoparticle size as well as various experimental conditions. Therefore, the author suggests that pharmaceutical therapy with the ZnO-NP is one of the possible strategies to overcome the inflammatory reactions. However, further studies should be performed to maximize the anti-inflammatory effect of ZnO-NP to apply as a potential agent in biomedical applications.
Calculating the distribution of stresses and displacements around a circular tunnel excavated in infinite isotropic rock mass subjected to hydrostatic stress condition is one of the basic problems in rock engineering. While closed-form solutions for the distribution are known if rock masses are considered as elastic, perfectly plastic, or brittle-plastic media, a few numerically approximated solutions based on various simplifying assumptions have been reported for strain-softening rock mass. In this study, a simple numerical method is introduced for the analysis of strain-softening behavior of the circular tunnel in Mohr-Coulomb rock mass. The method can also applied to the analysis of the tunnel in brittle-plastic or perfectly plastic media. For the brittle-plastic case where closed-formsolution exists, the performance of the present method is verified by showing an excellent agreement between two solutions. In order to demonstrate the strain-softening behaviors predicted by the proposed method. a parameter study for a softening index is given and the construction of ground reaction curves is carried out. The importance of defining the characteristics of dilation in plastic analysis is discussed through analyzing the displacements near the surface of tunnel.

It is significant technique to increase competitiveness that solar cells have a high energy conversion efficiency and cost effectiveness. When making high efficiency crystalline Si solar cells, evaporated Ti/Pd/Ag contact system is widely used in order to reduce the electrical resistance of the contact fingers. However, the evaporation process is no applicable to mass production because high vacuum is needed. Furthermore, those metals are too expensive to be applied for terrestrial applications. Ni/Cu/Ag contact system of silicon solar cells offers a relatively inexpensive method of making electrical contact. Ni silicide formation is one of the indispensable techniques for Ni/Cu/Ag contact sytem. Ni was electroless plated on the front grid pattern, After Ni electroless plating, the cells were annealed by RTP(Rapid Thermal Process). Ni silicide(NiSi) has certain advantages over Ti silicide($TiSi_2$), lower temperature anneal, one step anneal, low resistivity, low silicon consumption, low film stress, absence of reaction between the annealing ambient. Ni/Cu/Ag metallization scheme is an important process in the direction of cost reduction for solar cells of high efficiency. In this article we shall report an investigation of rapid thermal silicidation of nickel on silngle crystalline silicon wafers in the annealing range of $350-390^{\circ}C$. The samples annealed at temperatures from 350 to $390^{\circ}C$ have been analyzed by SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy).

The NiSi is very promising candidate for the metallization in 60nm CMOS process such as FUSI(fully silicided) gate and source/drain contact because it exhibits non-size dependent resistance, low silicon consumption and mid-gap workfunction. Ni film was first deposited by using ALD (atomic layer deposition) technique with Bis-Ni precursor and $H_2$ reactant gas at $220^{\circ}C$ with deposition rate of $1.25{\AA}/cycle$. The as-deposited Ni film exhibited a sheet resistance of $5{\Omega}/{\square}$. RTP (repaid thermal process) was then performed by varying temperature from $400^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$ in $N_2$ ambient for the formation of NiSi. The process window temperature for the formation of low-resistance NiSi was estimated from $600^{\circ}C$ to $800^{\circ}C$ and from $700^{\circ}C$ to $800^{\circ}C$ with and without Ti capping layer. The respective sheet resistance of the films was changed to $2.5{\Omega}/{\square}$ and $3{\Omega}/{\square}$ after silicidation. This is because Ti capping layer increases reaction between Ni and Si and suppresses the oxidation and impurity incorporation into Ni film during silicidation process. The NiSi films were treated by additional thermal stress in a resistively heated furnace for test of thermal stability, showing that the film heat-treated at $800^{\circ}C$ was more stable than that at $700^{\circ}C$ due to better crystallinity.
To observe the effect of Demodex canis infection on the cellular immune response and hematological profile, 8 Doberman pinschers experimentally infected with D cains and 4 uninfected control dogs were sensitized with 2, 4-dinitro-chlorobenzene(DNCB) on the skin and were challenged with DNCB 14 days after the initial sensitization to elicit allergic contact dermatitis. Histological and hematological changes of these dogs were then observed. Macroscopic changes of skin challenged with DNCB in D canis-infected dogs included significantly reduced area of allergic reaction(p<0.05) than in uninfected control group. Infiltration of inflammatory cells in the D canis-infected group was also significantly reduced(p<0.05) than in the uninfected control group. These changes indicated that the cell-mediated immune response of the animals was suppressed by the infection with D canis. Total white blood cell count in dogs infected with D canis was increased when dogs were sensitized with DNCB (p<0.01). The result appeared to be caused by stress due to D canis infection, secondary bacterial infection and decreased efficacy of general body defense system. Blood eosionophils were increased in D canis-infected dogs which appreared to be caused by the allergic contact dermatitis. Blood chemistry analysis revealed that total protein and globulin were increased(p<0.05), while albumin level was decreased. This result appeared to be caused by secondary bacterial infection.
The new epoxy resin, diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A(DGEBA)/4, 4'-methylene dianiline (MDA)/succinonitrile system, containing the reactive additive succionitrile was investigated through the impact test and the stress-strain test on the basis of the behavior of cure reaction and the cure mechanism. The new epoxy resin system, having the different succinonitrile contents, were cured at $80^{\circ}C$for 1.5 hour and then in order to cure completely at $150^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. It was shown that as the succinonitrile content increased, impact strength was gradually increased, tensile strength was decreased, almost constantly Young's modulus was sustained and elongation was increased until the succinonitrile content was increased to 10phr, and then decreased. From the experimental results, it can be concluded that the chemical bonding length between the main chains was extended by adding the reactive additive succinonitrile. It was also found that the flexibility of epoxy resin was improved by adding the succinonitrile.

In this study, the structural deflection analysis of robot manipulator for removing nuclear fuel rod from nuclear reactor vessel is performed by using general purpose finite element code (ANSYS). The structural deflection analysis results reported in this study is very required for the accurate design of robot system. The structural deflection analysis for the manipulator's structural status at which the gripper grasps and draws up the nuclear fuel rod is done, For this beginning structural status of robot manipulator's removing motion, the reaction forces at each joint have static maximum values as reported in the reference(6), and so these forces may cause the maximum deflection of robot structure. The structural deflection analysis is performed for selected four working cases of the proposed structural model and results on deformation, stress for the manipulator's solid body and the deflection at the end of robot manipulator's gripper are calculated. And further, the same analysis is performed for the slenderer manipulator with cross section reduced by one-fifth of each side length of proposed model. The analysis is performed not only for the nuclear fuel rod with weight load of 300kg but also for nuclear fuel rods with weight loads of 100kg, 200kg, 400kg and 500kg. The static structural deflection analysis results show that the deflection value increases as the load increases and the largest value (corresponding to the weight load of 500kg in case 1) is much smaller than the gap distance between nuclear fuel rods. but the largest value for the slenderer manipulator is almost as large as the gap distance, Hence, conclusively, the proposed manipulator's structural model is acceptably safe for mechanical design of robot system.
Concrete filled tubular columns are widely used because the mutual reaction between the concrete and the tube improves strength and ductility of the columns. In an attempt to secure efficient use of members, built-up square columns featuring large width-thickness ratio and the use of thin steel plates are suggested in this study. In order to evaluate the structural characteristics and seismic performance of the column-to-beam connections of the new shape columns, cyclic load test of T-shaped column-to-beam connections was conducted with variables of diaphragms and concrete-filling. Moment-rotational angle relationship, dissipated energy and failure behavior were compared to evaluate stress transfer mechanism of the new shape built-up square column-to-beam connections associated with the variables.

Behavioral and physiological responses of juvenile red seabream (Pagrus major) to different concentrations of ethanol were investigated. No swimming and no reaction to touching by a wooden stick was observed at 0.6% ethanol group in behavioral response, and survival rate was 100% after 5 hours of treatment. Red blood cell count, hematocrit and hemoglobin levels in plasma were not significantly different among all groups. AST activities in plasma significantly decreased as ethanol concentration increased. On the contrary, ALT activities in plasma significantly increased as ethanol concentration increased. Cortisol level in plasma was the lowest in 0.6% ethanol group. Glucose levels in plasma increased significantly when ethanol concentration increased more than 0.4%. Oxygen consumption of fish in 0.6% ethanol seawater was constantly lower than that of fish in control seawater from 2 hours after the exposure to ethanol seawater until the end of experiment.

In this study, the vibration control performance of high-rise building structures connected by a sky-bridge has been investigated. The philosophy of vibration control using sky-bridges is to allow structures with different dynamic characteristics to exert control forces upon one another through sky-bridges to reduce the overall responses of the system. The the high-rise building structure connected by sky-bridge with 49 and 42 stories was used in this study to investigate the displacement, acceleration, reaction of bearings and stress of sky-bridge by analytical methods. To this end, historical earthquakes, an artificial earthquake and wind force time histories obtained from wind tunnel tests were used. Based on the analytial results, the use of sky-bridge can be effective in reducing the structural responses of high-rise buildings against wind and seismic loads.
