  • This paper considers a nonparametric estimation of lifetime distribution for ramp stress tests with stress bound under intermittent inspection. The test items are inspected only at specified time points an⊂1 so the collected observations are grouped data. Under the cumulative exposure model, two nonparametric estimation methods of estimating the lifetime distribution at use condition stress are proposed for the situation which the time transformation function relating stress to lifetime is a type of the inverse power law. Each of items is initially put on test under ramp stress and then survivors are put on test under constant stress, where all failures in the Inspection interval are assumed to occur at the midi)oint or the endpoint of that interval. Two proposed estimators of quantile from grouped data consisting of the number of items failed in each inspection interval are numerically compared with the maximum likelihood estimator(MLE) based on Weibull distribution.

  • Work ability and job stress have become the important issues in Korean workplace recently. This study researched work ability and job stress and also analyzed correlation with work ability and job stress using the Work Ability Index and the Karasek's Job Content Questionnaire against 742 subway workers. As the results, Work ability in subway workers was good in general. The relation between job stress and job type showed statistical significance (p<0.05). The relation between job stress and diseases showed statistical significance in musculoskeletal disorders(p<0.05), heart disease, and gastrointestinal disease. The correlations between work ability and job stress showed statistical significance in job demand and social support(p<0.05). The result of this study could be useful to manage the work ability of aging worker and the job stress in industry.

  • This paper reviewed the relationship among job characteristics, psychological stress response, and accidents, and the mediating effect of psychological stress response between job characteristics and accidents. Based on the responses from 176 employees, the results of multiple regression analysis appeared as follow; 1) autonomy, importance and feedback effect negatively on psychological stress response. 2) psychological stress response effects positively on accident frequency. 3) psychological stress response mediates fully between autonomy and accident. 4) psychological stress response mediates partly between feedback and accident.

This study researched work ability and job stress and analyzed correlation with work ability and job stress using the Work Ability Index(WAI) and the Karasek's Job Content Questionnaire against 152 doctors. The results of this study show that the work ability in doctors was good in general. The work ability and the job stress according to major show statistical significance. The relation between job stress and disease showed statistical significance in musculoskeletal disorders, heart disease, and metabolic disease. The correlations between work ability and job stress showed statistical significance in job demand and job control. This study can be utilized to improve the job ability and prevent some disease from the job stress of doctors.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of parental resources and parenting stress on parenting efficacy in low-income families Furthermore, in order to verify whether parental resources function as a resilience factor, a structural model was established to assess the suitability and influence of the variables. A total of 603 parents of children and adolescents between the ages of 9-18 were selected from the data from Children and Adolescents Comprehensive Status Research (2009) by the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs. For the analyses, SPSS WIN 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 were utilized. The major results were as follows: First, the suitability of the model was confirmed with variables presenting a satisfying fit. Second, parental resources had a negative effect on parenting stress and a positive effect on parenting efficacy. Third, parenting stress had a negative effect on parenting efficacy. Finally, a test of the structural equation model supports the hypothesis that parental resources have a significant direct effect as well as an indirect effect through parenting stress on parenting efficacy. The implications for further studies and practice were discussed.

  • This study was conducted to investigate whether dietary chlorella intake could have an effect on antioxidative capacity in rats oxidatively stressed with cadmium (Cd). Sprague-Dawley rats fed dietary chlorella (0, 5, and 10%) for 4 weeks after induction of oxidative stress by exposing to Cd (200 ppm) for 8 weeks. After the oxidative stress applied, plasma and liver malondialdehyde concentrations and xanthine oxidase activities were decreased in 5% chlorella fed group compared to chlorella free group. Although liver heme oxygenase-1 protein expression was not affected by chlorella, the enzyme activity was improved in 5% chlorella fed group. Erythrocyte superoxide dismutase activity and hepatic metallothionein concentration were increased in 5% chlorella fed group. However, 10% chlorella intake had no effect on the improvement of oxidative stress-related enzymes and proteins. These findings suggest that, after induction of oxidative stress with Cd, 5% chlorella intake might improve antioxidative capacity against oxidative stress.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the asthma management educational program given to the allergic asthmatics receiving immunotherapy due to house dust mite on the disease related to knowledge, stress, and self-efficacy. Method: The subjects of this study were the patients received immunotherapy to house dust mite at a week interval after being diagnosed for house dust mite allergic asthma at the respiratory center of a hospital affiliated to the university. They were divided into the experimental group of 29 patients who received asthma management education, the control group of 32 patients, and 61 patients in total. Experimental treatment, as an asthma management educational program, was the group education of one time and the reinforcement education of three times with environmental therapy and immunotherapy to house dust mite. Results: The results revealed that the improvement in disease related knowledge, the improvement in self-efficacy and the decrease in stress, were significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. Conclusions: The asthma management educational program had an effect on improving the disease related knowledge and self-efficacy, and decreasing the stress of the patients asthmatics allergic to house dust mite.

  • Purpose: This study aims to compare and analysis job stress, patient safety culture, and patient safety management activities of nurses in comprehensive nursing care service wards and general wards. Methods: Through an online survey conducted on nurses with more than three months of working experience at five general hospitals in the metropolitan area, 156 participants's data were used for 𝜒2-test, t-test, ANOVA using SPSS ver. 26.0. Result: There were no significant differences in the nurses' job stress and patient safety management activities between the comprehensive nursing care service wards and general wards. However, the patient safety culture of nurses in the comprehensive nursing care service ward was significantly lower than that of general ward. Conclusion: Patient safety culture should be promoted through continuous regular patient safety education, training, and organizational support to increase patient safety management activities. Additionally, institutional programs should be prepared to reduce job stress of nurses at the frontline of patient safety.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between perceived stress. self respect & stress response of high school students to provide the basic data for nursing intervention programs in order to manage stress in students. The subject of this study was 279 students (male; 179. female; 100) in high school. Seoul. Korea. during the period from July. 2000. The instruments for this study was a stress management scale developed by Park Young Ae(l996), a self respect scale by Coopersmith (1967) and a physical. emotional response scale to stress by Ro, Jae Hak(1991). The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test. Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of analysis were as follows: 1) Total perceived stress between males & females didn't show a significant difference but subgroups of stress, 'parent' & 'friend' showed significant differences. Male students were experienced in 'parent' stress than females and female students were more experienced in 'friend' stress than males. 2) A significant negative correlation was revealed between perceived stress & self respect. 3) A significant positive correlation was revealed between self respect & stress response. The result of this study lead us to the suggestion that for high school students. the development of stress management methods for improving self respect should be expanded.
