The shear strength has been managed as an important factor in soil mechanics. The shear strength estimation model was developed to evaluate the shear strength using only a few soil properties by the linear regression analysis model which is one of the statistical methods. The shear strength is divided into two part; one is the internal friction angle ($\Phi$) and the other is the cohesion (c). Therefore, some valid soil factors among the results of soil tests are selected through the correlation analysis using SPSS and then the model are formulated by the linear regression analysis based on the relationship between factors. Also, the developed model is compared with the result of direct shear test to prove the rationality of model. As the results of analysis about relationship between soil properties and shear strength, the internal friction angle is highly influenced by the void ratio and the dry unit weight and the cohesion is mainly influenced by the void ratio, the dry unit weight and the plastic index. Meanwhile, the shear strength estimated by the developed model is similar with that of the direct shear test. Therefore, the developed model may be used to estimate the shear strength of soils in the same condition of study area.
Purpose: This study investigated whether the strength imbalance between two muscles can affect the score of EMG based biofeedback game, and whether the EMG based biofeedback game score can be used as predictable indicator of the degree of muscle balance alternating the conventional strength measuring equipment. Methods: 40 participated in this study. Biodex was used to measure the peak torque/weight in order to calculate the muscle strength balance index between plantar flexor and dorsiflexor of ankle joint. And muscle balance index (MBI) was calculated. The EMG biofeedback game scores of dorsiflexor and plantar flexor were acquired, so that the EMG electrodes were attached at tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius. The relationship between the game score and the muscle balance index were analyzed. Results: There was negative correlation between the muscle balance index between plantar flexor and dorsiflexor and the peak torque/weight of plantar flexor (r=-0.70). And there was negative correlation between the muscle balance index between plantar flexor and dorsiflexor and the game score of plantar flexor (r=-0.83). Conclusion: The EMG biofeedback game score had significant relationship with muscle imbalance at ankle joint, so it seems that the game score can be used for predicting the degree of muscle imbalance as a parameter.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to in this study. The maximum grip force of the elderly hand was measured using a custom-designed grasping apparatus mounted with five three-component force transducers. The Jebsen-Tayler hand function test and Purdue Pegboard test were performed to evaluate the dexterity of the hand. Method: Twenty-six elderly women participated in the left hand between the maximum grip force and the Jebsen-Taylor hand function test results (r=-.513, p=.007). A significant correlation was also shown in the hand maximum grip force and the hand Purdue Pegboard results (r=.514, p=.007). However, no significant correlation was found in the right hand. Results: We found a significant correlation investigate the relationship between hand grip strength and hand dexterity in the elderly. Conclusion: Our findings in the current study support the theory of 'Strength-dexterity complementariness' which states that improvement in dexterity is associated with the grip force strength.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation coefficients between delayed muscle soreness after eccentric exercise, muscle strength, CPK, and ALD. Subjects of this study were 9 male students. CPK, ALD that known as the indicators of muscle damage and eccentric strength of the Lt elbow flexors were measured prior to exercise. After measurements Hey Perform an isokinetic eccentric exercise of flexor group of 1 elbow(10 repetitions 3 bouts) by make use of KIN-COM isokinetic device. After exercise, CPK, ALD, and peak torque of elbow flexor group was measured at the just after exercise, 24hr after, 72hr after. Also muscle soreness level was evaluated at same intervals by make use of VAS(visual analog scale). The results were as follows : 1 . There was significant differencess or muscle soreness, CPK, ALD, peak torque with the passage or recovery time (p<0.001). 2. There was negative correlation coefficients between CPK and peak torque at 24hr after(p<0.05). 3. There was positive correlation coefficients between ALD and CPK at 24hr after(p<0.05). 4. There was no correlation coefficients between other variables but ALD was the most important factors that can be explains the muscle sur eness very well.

PURPOSE: The study examined the relationship between the knee function score and knee strength and muscular endurance of an elite female handball athletes according to their position in the team. METHODS: Thirty handball athletes participated on the study: 12 front positions, 12 back positions, and five goalkeepers. The knee function score consisted of symptoms, pain, daily activity, sports and recreation, and quality of life. In addition, CSMI (Cybex, USA) was used to measure the strength and muscular endurance of the knee. The muscular strength and muscular endurance were measured at an angular velocity of 60°/s and 180°/s, respectively. RESULTS: The overall items of the knee function score showed a significant difference (p = .017), and goalkeepers had significantly higher scores than the back positions. In addition, significant differences were observed in all five items depending on the position (p ≤ .05). On the other hand, both the flexor and extensor muscles of the knee strength and muscular endurance were not significant. Moreover, there was no correlation between the knee function score and the knee strength and muscle endurance. CONCLUSION: Elite female handball athletes have different knee functions score depending on their position in the team, but the, strength and muscular endurance of the knee were similar for each position. Furthermore, the knee function score showed no correlateion with the strength and muscular endurance of the knee.

Objectives: This study verified the possibility of cementing fiberglass-reinforced posts using a flowable bulk-fill composite (BF), comparing its push-out bond strength and microhardness with these properties of 3 luting materials. Materials and Methods: Sixty endodontically treated bovine roots were used. Posts were cemented using conventional dual-cured cement (CC); self-adhesive cement (SA); dual-cured composite (RC); and BF. Push-out bond strength (n = 10) and microhardness (n = 5) tests were performed after 1 week and 4 months of storage. Two-way repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA), 1-way ANOVA, t-test, and Tukey post-hoc tests were applied for the push-out bond strength and microhardness results; and Pearson correlation test was applied to verify the correlation between push-out bond strength and microhardness results (α = 0.05). Results: BF presented higher push-out bond strength than CC and SA in the cervical third before aging (p < 0.01). No differences were found between push-out bond strength before and after aging for all the luting materials (p = 0.84). Regarding hardness, only SA presented higher values measured before than after aging (p < 0.01). RC and BF did not present 80% of the maximum hardness at the apical regions. A strong positive correlation was found between the luting materials' push-out bond strength and microhardness (p < 0.01, R2 = 0.7912). Conclusions: The BF presented comparable or higher push-out bond strength and microhardness than the luting materials, which indicates that it could be used for cementing resin posts in situations where adequate light curing is possible.
A water loaded pressure device using water as the breaking force was developed to evaluate eggshell strength and compared with a dropping ball techniques. Further, relationships of shell thickness and weight of eggs to shell strength were also studied. Values for both of the shell strength measuring methods showed a highly significant correlation (p < 0.001) with shell thickness. The water loaded pressure method had a much higher simple correlation coefficient for shell thickness (r = + 0.786) than the dropping ball method (r = + 0.577). The shell strength measured by the water loaded pressure method appeared not to be correlated to egg weight. On the other hand, the negative sign of the standard partial regression coefficient and the partial regression coefficient of egg weight in the estimated multiple regression equation implied that for a given shell thickness a larger egg tended to have less shell strength than a smaller egg.

In this paper, fundamental properties of Polymer Concrete made from unsaturated polyester resin based on recycled PET and recycled aggregate(RPC) were investigated. Resins based on recycled PET and recycled aggregate offer the possibility of low source cost for forming useful products, and would also help alleviate an environmental problem and save energy. The results of test for resin contents and recycled aggregate ratio are showed that the strength of RPC increases with resin contents relatively, however beyond a certain resin content the strength does not change appreciably, and the relationship between the compressive strength and aggregate contents at resin $9\%$ has a close correlation linearly whereas there is no correlation between the compressive strength and the flexural strength of RPC with recycled concrete aggregate.

The correlation between the tensile strength and corrosion behavior of Zr-1.0wt%Nb alloy heat treated at $480^{\circ}C$ for up to 32 hours was evaluated. The tensile strength at $400^{\circ}C$ was continuously reduced with an increasing heat treatment time, mainly due to a grain growth and a decreased area fraction of the precipitates. However, the corrosion resistance in an aqueous ammonia solution at $360^{\circ}C$ was enhanced, mainly due to the formation of $\beta$-Nb precipitates. It is thus concluded that a longer heat treatment time provides a better corrosion resistance while degrading the tensile strength.
